For the head, you can cut triangles at the top of your foam cylinder and glue them together but before you do that make sure you have fabric so you can trace the foam onto it and apply the fabric.

What's the best machine stitch for sewing fur together in your opinion? Is it more beneficial to use a sturdy seam over a flexible one? If sturdy, would a straight stitch do the job fine?
That all depends on the fabric type + type of clothes/costume

This is amazing. You’re so talented!
I’ve tried to use hot glue to attach foam and didn’t find that it worked well AND gave a really hard seam. Does the glue sticks you linked in your post attach well and leave a softer seam line? The glue sticks I used weren’t strong enough to hold foam when I tried to make a tube for the head round. I used super 77 spray which was a huge mess and not much better. :( hoping to find a stronger, quicker solution to bond foam.
I think they use a glue gun not a glue stick, hot glue should work fine!
Right, I’m wondering if the type of glue they use in the glue gun is specific for foam. I tried regular glue for my glue gun and it didn’t adhere the foam. “Glue stick” was probably bot the best word to use but I don’t know what to call the glue that goes into the glue gun…. It is shaped like sticks…. Haha

I use different ones, like 3 cm and 10 cm
