  • 148- This RV Adventures video shows the replacement of the CO2/Propane Gas alarm in our GeoPro. It failed after 1 1/2 years of use. In this video, I will remove the old one, figure out how to replace it, and install the new one.
NOTICE: I am no expert and this video shows how I replaced my unit; your unit may be different or the wires to your unit may be different. If in doubt, consult a qualified RV Tech to replace your unit.
The replacement unit that fits our GeoPro can be found on Amazon at amzn.to/3F71hPF as well as many other models and brands.

Thanks for the video. I have the same trailer. You have saved me the trouble of tracing the wires if I have to replace the alarm. I'll just cut and add the extensions. It's good to see what's behind the panels.

Same thing happened in our Casita. It would go off at all hours regardless of ventilation or the presence of gas. Woke us up in the middle of the night many times on one trip. On another trip it kept getting tripped by the gases coming out of a pit toilet we were camped near! I ended up replacing the unit and the problem went away. But at the same time, I put an on-off switch on it. I cut power to the unit when the trailer is in storage or when we leave it for the day. I came back many times to find the alarm screeching and disturbing the campground.

A power switch is a great idea.

It’s just defective. I had to replace my Casita twice in one year.

The original wiring sure made that a difficult swap!

Yes, it did. If they would have been more careful running the wires there would have been more available to make the swap out easy.
