    I've just discovered your channel and was fascinated by this video of how you have evolved as a collage artist. I'm at the paper weaving/magazine collage stage at the moment (!), but am really loving the process and happy to go with the flow and see where it leads. Your work is really stunning and I love the way you balance images, colour and text. The textural quality of the digital art on wood panels is amazing! Thank you for sharing your journey 💖

    Hello Lydia! I just LOVE your work. You’re very inspiring for me and my work. While you were processing with your different techniques, you must have been inspired too by other artists. How can we be inspired in our work without having the impression of copying someone else. It’s a real preoccupation for me. Thank you so much for all your videos. It helps a lot for my inspiration and it also answers a lot of my questions as an artist. Love this one very much. We see all of the stages of your creativity and techniques. 💗

    • @LydiaRinkArt
      @LydiaRinkArt  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you Helene,
      getting inspired and copying are different things. I think it's okay to try out to mimic other artists work to find out how they work. but then go a step forward, use the things you have learnt and create more personal art. we all are influenced by other artists, to bring in your own voice is important.
      I always ask myself what I like about other people's artwork. the color combination? the line work? organic shapes? graphic elements? include those in your work and combine it with other things you love. Try out as much as you can, let your intuition guide you to find your own way 😉

      "How can we be inspired in our work without having the impression of copying someone else."
      I think learning from others always includes a certain amount of copying. When you are in art school, you copy other people's work a lot - it gives you a better grip on all kinds of technique and tools. Once you can do that, you will leave behind your mentor's style and find a way to incorporate inspiration in work that is completely yours.

      Thank you for this video! It is so intresting to see how you constantly find new ways to create. I really love your style and try to learn from your videos although I’m a beginner with collaging. I intend to buy a gel plate, it seems so fun 👍. Looking forward to every video you share 🥰.
      Two questions: If you use wallpaper glue, can’t you just finish the work with matt medium instead of using it through the whole process? Asking because you said in a video that you use matt medium if you intend to sell you work 🙂.
      And also - those card boards you use, are the covered with canvas or just ordinary card board from a paper shop? How thick are they?
      /Thank you ❤️🙂

    • @LydiaRinkArt
      @LydiaRinkArt  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@evalindstein3837 when I spoke about using wallpaper paste for my collages someone told me that silver fish like to eat wallpaper paste because it organic material. So to play it safe I would suggest using acrylic medium or other waterproof glue for collages you plan to sell. you never know where your future customer lives.
      the canvas boards are cardboard covered with canvas. they are made for painting

    • @evalindstein3837
      @evalindstein3837 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Gosh 😬! Yeah, you really don’t want a painting you’ve sold to be eaten up 😂. Thank you for valuable information 😊❤️.

    This is such an inspiration to me. Seeing your work progress. I love all your creations. They are so creative. This kind of collage really appeals to me but I struggle with the composition of elements that I like. I guess it is just a practice of practicing and experimenting like you suggest. Thanks

    • @LydiaRinkArt
      @LydiaRinkArt  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      thank you 😘 I think it‘s practicing but also asking yourself what you like so your brain can build up a visual library of things you like. this will feed your intuition. trust your intuition 😉

    About wallpaper paste: couldn’t it be used throughout the process and then at the end coat the work with a layer or two of acrylic medium and varnish to prevent problems with insects?
