- Last week I asked the members of my facebook group
„What is your biggest challenge with creating collages?“
And the most common answer was: „Getting Started“
I totally understand that finding a starting point
for a collage is not that easy.
While working on another collage for the Collaborative Collage Challenge
I will share my thoughts about the question
how to get started.
Each week, I share tips, tricks, advice and inspiration to help you getting back into the creative flow 🙌

Such fun to watch you! Glad I'm not alone in trying to find the right focal point....so many choices!
Thank u. I’m a new subscriber and I’m loving your work. 💕
Thank you for sharing your process.
I start with an image I want to recreate or I start by opening up magazines/books and selecting images/backgrounds that speak to me, and build my story from there. 😁
very interesting to hear that you start with the background 👌 have to try that 😁
Love the abstractness of this.
your narrative in this video was very helpful. i like knowing why you choose the next paper in the collage.
Thank you so much for sharing 🙏🙏🙏. I love the result. Tons of gratitude for your explanations ❤
thank you 🌺
I usually start with a general idea of composition or of color. Or sometimes a particular piece of paper that has caught my eye. Oddly I usually go looking for a focal point last.
starting with a focal point is just one way to start 😉 finding your own way and process is the main thing
Angelina from Australia. I do love watching you work from others' materials. Your commentary is insightful and your talent inspiring. Thank you!
thank you so much! 🌸
Thank you so much for sharing, I start with a focal point too. I am fascinated by your process and you give very concise tips which is very helpfull
thank you! great to hear it was helpful 🙌
Lovely result 😃! I still try to figure out how to find a focal point. I tend to add to much pieces so there’s to much going on. But I must continue my experiments. Practice is of course the key word.
one piece should stand out as a eye catcher 😉

Thank you so much and thank his is my problem for a long time. I sketch often and I began with focal point and extended from there. I love your clear explanation and focus mindfulness. 👍🙏❤️🤩

Where did you order the envelope full of collage materials? Excellent assortment.
I didn‘t order it. People from my newsletter community has sent me over 60 envelopes and I use those to create collages. The project is called „The Collaborative Collage Challenge“
