You should be, and i'm not trying to be a dick, but they have so much diversity in their catalog that anyone should be able to dig something.

So, basically, Thom Yorke didn't want to be a rock star. He was pretty burned out. And Jonny Greenwood was going to be a musical genius no matter what the genre-he's actually a very accomplished classical composer by the way. The record label wanted them to be a certain thing, and the band wasn't feeling it. So they did this. They just made what they were interested in at the time, which was an eclectic, crazy mix of different genres and instruments. It was shocking. I was shocked by it. Nobody expected this. It was very controversial. But I think most Radiohead fans eventually came around. It probably brought in new fans, too. And (I've already said this on your last two Radiohead reactions, but that's just the kind of band Radiohead is) it was very influential. It's famous now for being such a big "left turn" in music history, and it changed the course of that music history for basically everyone else in rock music. I am so glad it happened. It's been many years now since it came out, and over time, I have come to appreciate it more and more, even tracks I absolutely hated the first time I listened. Jonny is doing some stuff with this, and so is Thom, and everyone else is bring their A-game in support, with some great solos in the process.
The band considers How To Disappear Completely their best track they've made. I disagree, but they have a very strong argument and lots of fans and critics agree with them.
A lot of the lyrics in Kid A were actually pulled at random out of a hat. That's why most of the songs don't seem to make much sense and are open to really any interpretation. That hasn't stopped people from coming up with wild theories about what the band actually intended. For a few of the songs, various band members have talked about what they were thinking or intended, but they've also been contradictory and given different stories at different times to different interviewers. Probably best to just come up with your own interpretations.
At the same time they were recording this, they were recording a lot of the songs on Amnesiac. Great companion album, came out quickly after this one, and now there's a box set with both combined. In a lot of ways, I think I prefer Amnesiac. That wasn't always the case, but it really grew on me over time. Kid A is generally considered the better album of the two, and one of their top three overall.

That one took me a little bit to fully appreciate. Other songs were easier. This whole album has been a journey for me, since it came out. It's a grower.
