Nice to see a new generation getting to know great music. I had Zero stuck in my head for like an entire year as a teenager, but in a good way. It was really great skateboard music.
Yes, "The world is a vampire" is one of the top ten rock song intros of all time. Great video guys! I know you're getting lots of suggestions, but may I add: - "Welcome to the Black Parade" by My Chemical Romance - Collective Souls' self-titled album - "Funeral" by Arcade Fire - "16 Stone" by Bush-X - "Tiny Music... Songs from the Vatican Gift Shop" Stone Temple Pilots - "Hot Fuss" by The Killers - "Spiritual Machines" by Our Lady Peace (Rocking Canadian album about A.I. and at what point it's considered living). -"Zeitgeist" by Smashing Pumpkins (although really just done by Billy Corgan and Jimmy Chamberlin).
The opening track, Mellon Collie... is simply amazing for me. It's one of the most beautiful instrumental pieces that I've ever heard. At least a 9.5 for me. I think the beauty of MCIS lies in its consistency. There's really no weak tracks here. Depending on my mood, at times, I feel some of the album tracks shine more brightly than the hit singles. Galapogos has always been the best track for me here. Glad that u guys give it a 10 too😊
🥁⚡️Yeah, Jimmy is the best- I’ve been lucky enough to have been buddies with him for the last 20 years. And he’s so encouraging-he was a supporter of my “Resonance” record. Keep on listening 🙌✨
To me tonight tonight gives off a happy and relfective look into growing up and all the different memories and experiences you will or have had in life, I could definitely see it being much more impactful the older people get. Nice reactions.
Can’t deny Tonight, Tonight. Esp when you let Mellon Collie play right into it. You’re on something … the disc sounds even better and its entirety. And make sure you catch the videos off this LP. All 🔥🔥🔥 +1 for You’d Prefer an Astronaut, Hum
When you get to DISK 2 (Twilight to Starlight) and review 'Stumbleine' I would suggest you watch the live performance at the Guggenheim museum from 1998 (it's on youtube). It's better than the album version. I would also suggest getting a hold of 'Vieuphoria' some day and watching that (from 1994).
Bullet with Butterfly Wings is my least favorite SP tune, never did understand why it had the huge commercial success other than it was the first one released and played on radio stations back in 1995 off this album!?!
I'm with you on this. Bullet is the cookie cutter song. This I understand why people like it. Because they don't know any better. Corgan himself talks about how this song was basically made to please the label that wanted a formulaic rock song. Here's your cute riff and from best now leave me alone so I can write what I want. He literally tells you how he feels like a rat in a cage being asked to do crowd pleasing songs and not what he wants to do.
Gentlemen, you can't rely on youtube or any other word generator to transcribe lyrics 100% accurately so I suggest you purchase the albums you enjoy and read the lyrics that came packaged with these albums. The word in the lyrics of 'Porcelina of the Vast Oceans' is not "fridges" it's "...to the FRINGES gladly, I walk unadorned..."
@bebrageren2587 the term 'album' is used loosely in this context, if people have enough money for a computer or mobile phone then they have enough money for a $24.99 CD. However, If buying new is still cost prohibitive there are always music thrift-stores where you can find items with original materials.

That’s insane, tell him he’s still got listeners loving and rocking out to his music 🤘

Not everyone has the money to buy a physical album of every album they want to listen to
