Damn, I regret it now. Spent almost 600 hours on Black, and the only reason I deleted my save was because I was too hyped for Sun and Moon. Thankfully, I moved all the pokemon I could to pokemon bank, but I'll still never get back my Victini or Emboar.
I deleted my Black and White files countless times just so I could replay the entire games and constantly get the same emotional impact of going through the first time.
In Black and White its hard to delete a saved file to replay the story because I love my Pokemon and I chose not to let go of my Samurott named Ace. But sadly, my game was acidentally defeated by my younger sister. RIP Ace

I love how N's speech changes slightly depending on your answer at Chargestone Cave and whichever version of the game you are playing. B/W might've lacked in some aspects but when it came down to it, B/W had so much heart behind it's story. N is the best character by far in any pokemon game, and this might be one of the best soundtracks.
The most saddest pokemon game scene I've fucking seen since childhood days of classical Pokemon games. For the first time I actually wanted my rival(antagonist turn into protagonist), N, to stay and bother me to battle as I continued to play the game. Unlike the majority of the battles I fought in Pokemon White, N was truly the most fantastic and memorable battler that I surprisingly had so much difficulty and fun with since the time I fought Pokemon Master Red in my younger days. And for the first time in forever, I actually felt like crying when he was leaving because I wanted this dude to battle me again as I continued playing the game. P.S.: This background music was truly phenomenal and fitted the entire goodbye scene. And having to see N as a animated like aesthetic made it feel as if I was sincerely in the Pokemon World myself talking to this dude.
I agree with you. N Harmonia is personally my favourite Pokemon character of all time. N's someone who thought that he was pursuing the truth - believing that he was fighting for the rights of Pokémon - when in actuality, he was being fed false information by Team Plasma that trainers were abusing Pokémon. In actuality, Team Plasma was only selected abused Pokémon to brainwash N into thinking all trainers are like that. Through the player, he realizes the real truth - that while some trainers are abusive, there are trainers who genuinely care. He's a tragic hero, and that's what's so fascinating about his character. I learnt a valuable lesson through him - that the world isn't so black and white. It's morally grey. Not to mention, N's battles (especially the Final one and the seasonal ones) were quite the challenge. It wasn't a huge difficulty spike, but it was enough of a challenge to keep you on your feet.
I love N because he was the biggest motivator and inspiration behind "my" success and journey in defeating Team Plasma and Ghetsis. I refused to believe when he was saying goodbye and I exited the game and stopped playing for a few days after that. I took so many pictures of N my phone was flooded with them for a while. I couldn't believe that N was leaving because he was someone who was always there on "my" journey and he was the drive I needed to train my Pokemon harder to defeat him. He was the obstacle in my way until he became the current behind me, pushing me forward until I could face the monster who shaped his childhood, defeat him and punish him for his abuse and neglect of N... I will never forget N Harmonia, he was a single shining candle whose light was slowly extinguished by the murderer that is Ghetsis. "N's heart is pure and innocent. They're inserted into the rusty jukebox, and he hits the play button. The song finally starts playing after decades of decay, and ShadowLynx's request is finally complete. With a final breath, they leave this land behind. The man continues on his journey, letting the music play on for the last time as the batteries run out.
I can't stop thinking of this game even if it's 10 years later. The plot, the music, the art, it was just magical. These games were revolutionary and anything I have related to them and my connection will be stable forever. I adore these games and they will never be forgotten by anyone who really played them.
1/1/2024 I've commented before, and I probably will a thousand times more. Ball just dropped foue minutes ago. Year is 2024, and I'm already scared as hell, haha. I'll be turning 18 this year. This sounds so similiar to Mother 3's Love Theme. Both games are amazing, and tragic - a series loved by many worldwide, best known for it's fun gameplay and the comedic moments. Then, they come out with BW and Mother 3 - while they are true to both their series, both have tragic moments.
I'd give anything to experience this game for the first time again I vividly remember my cousin giving my his DS after the 3DS Released, along with a copy of Pokémon Black. Black&White is one of the few games that has ever actually brought me to tears. Such a beautiful experience ♡ N was always my favorite Character. Not just because of his overall story. But because I saw myself in him, and during a time where I experienced isolation from classmates due to my Autism and inability to socialize, I found comfort in him as a character. I sadly lost the DS and Copy of Pokémon Black after my parents and I moved across the state. But I'm still greatful I could experience this masterpiece. Will forever be my favorite Generation of Pokémon.
Fellow autistic person here. I just started playing Black 2 three months ago, and let me tell you, I've never come so close to crying when playing a video game. I would've loved to play Black first, but now that I think about it, I'm glad that I didn't, because then I would've had to see N go, and that would've hurt me deeply and actually made me cry. (For the record, what almost made me cry was still N, when we were exploring his castle together and he brought up his past.) Gen 5 is one of the best generations of Pokémon the designs were kinda goofy but they had there own unique charm and that's what made black and white special. I wouldn't care if it was like bdsp as long as they implemented black and white 2 content into it like make the story a mix of both with marlons gym being the 8th making Brycen the ice type gym leader being the 10th where you can travel to virbank take on Roxie for the 9th gym but instead of cheren its actually brycens ice type gym and turn his old gym into something else I'd love the remakes to have 10 gym badges. To incorporate all of gen 5s amazing storyline. After 10 badges you take on the elite four who's pokemon range between 63 and 68 with the champion first time around being Alder and the rematch allows you to face champion iris. That would make for a great remake. I'd love exploring relic castle again but also facing off against black and or white kyurem would be an amazing remake ong. The post game could be called Black and White 2 Episode where you face off against team neo plasma in a few areas with the scenes playing out the same as you make your way into the giant chasm where you face the shadow triad before ghetsis and black or white kyurem level 100 boss fight with black or white kyurem kinda like how they did giratina in bdsp but just better as you gotta beat ghetsis who's pokemon are around level 84 to 87.

5th gen dosent deserve the hate it gets. It had a beautiful story and soundtrack. Even the Pokemon were amazing. I remember that day back in 2011, Samuott, Throh, Leavanny, Archeops, Unfezant, and Haxorous. BW were more than just games to me, they taught me about truths and ideals, how both need to be a balance of the other. BW did so much for me and you coudnt believe the amount of time I put into BW2. The world felt so alive ya know? Pokewood, that thing everyone didn't like, was something I spent hours completing. Meeting with the star (I can't remember their name atm) and feeling like you had a romance with them. It was the small things in those games that made all the difference in the end.

Each Pokemon game gets better and better as years go by but nothing can beat Black and White. When I played this game it the story line really touched my heart. I wish it didn't have to stop, but all good journeys must come to end somewhere. Farewell N you will never be forgotten and Ghetsis I hope God changes your heart.

For all those talking about how this song's melody was originally used in Mother 3 - it's likely not a coincidence. The original Pokemon team was nothing more than a few of the guys who worked on Earthbound, banded together to make a second passion project for old time's sake. Given how beloved both series eventually became, I'd say both iterations of the song reflect how powerful a group of talented dudes with passion can be, even when up against against the overwhelming odds of industry. Also RIP Iwata.

This sounds so similiar to Mother 3's Love Theme. Both games are amazing, and tragic - a series loved by many worldwide, best known for it's fun gameplay and the comedic moments. Then, they come out with BW and Mother 3 - while they are true to both their series, both have tragic moments.

I vividly remember my cousin giving my his DS after the 3DS Released, along with a copy of Pokémon Black. Black&White is one of the few games that has ever actually brought me to tears. Such a beautiful experience ♡
N was always my favorite Character. Not just because of his overall story. But because I saw myself in him, and during a time where I experienced isolation from classmates due to my Autism and inability to socialize, I found comfort in him as a character.
I sadly lost the DS and Copy of Pokémon Black after my parents and I moved across the state. But I'm still greatful I could experience this masterpiece. Will forever be my favorite Generation of Pokémon.
Fellow autistic person here. I just started playing Black 2 three months ago, and let me tell you, I've never come so close to crying when playing a video game. I would've loved to play Black first, but now that I think about it, I'm glad that I didn't, because then I would've had to see N go, and that would've hurt me deeply and actually made me cry. (For the record, what almost made me cry was still N, when we were exploring his castle together and he brought up his past.) He's now one of my three favorite Pokémon characters ever, the other two being Ingo and Emmet. 🖤🤍

@@randomsamurai3855I doubt they'd butcher gen 5, they know how much gen 5 means to the fanbase. We've all sent letters asking them to not butcher gen 5 like they did gen 4. Gen 5 is one of the best generations of Pokémon the designs were kinda goofy but they had there own unique charm and that's what made black and white special. I wouldn't care if it was like bdsp as long as they implemented black and white 2 content into it like make the story a mix of both with marlons gym being the 8th making Brycen the ice type gym leader being the 10th where you can travel to virbank take on Roxie for the 9th gym but instead of cheren its actually brycens ice type gym and turn his old gym into something else I'd love the remakes to have 10 gym badges. To incorporate all of gen 5s amazing storyline. After 10 badges you take on the elite four who's pokemon range between 63 and 68 with the champion first time around being Alder and the rematch allows you to face champion iris. That would make for a great remake. I'd love exploring relic castle again but also facing off against black and or white kyurem would be an amazing remake ong. The post game could be called Black and White 2 Episode where you face off against team neo plasma in a few areas with the scenes playing out the same as you make your way into the giant chasm where you face the shadow triad before ghetsis and black or white kyurem level 100 boss fight with black or white kyurem kinda like how they did giratina in bdsp but just better as you gotta beat ghetsis who's pokemon are around level 84 to 87.
The nostalgia hits so hard. This game was my childhood and it will always remain in my top 5 favourite games.

So it seems that the class I'm in, is going to be split up. So we the school gets closed down, and destroyed, I'm going to walk down the halls with all of my friends, with this in my head. I came here from stalking google and seeing similarities between Mother 3 and Pokemon.
Claus died by charging up a powerful lightning attack and hitting Lucas with it. The Franklin Badge reflects lightning. Lucas was wearing the Franklin Badge.
But Claus knew that. He struck lightning as a means of suicide, so I don't get how Mr Saturn is responsible for Claus effectively killing himself.

I grew up with gen 5, and although I wasn't so connected with N, his farewell theme definitely had me feeling sad. Don't think I'll ever forget this song.

Seeing old comments I can see how underrated these games were a few years ago. Now it should be a crime
5th gen dosent deserve the hate it gets. It had a beautiful story and soundtrack. Even the Pokemon were amazing. I remember that day back in 2011, Samuott, Throh, Leavanny, Archeops, Unfezant, and Haxorous. BW were more than just games to me, they taught me about truths and ideals, how both need to be a balance of the other. BW did so much for me and you coudnt believe the amount of time I put into BW2. The world felt so alive ya know? Pokewood, that thing everyone didn't like, was something I spent hours completing. Meeting with the star (I can't remember their name atm) and feeling like you had a romance with them. It was the small things in those games that made all the difference in the end.

when I first played Black...the emotions I felt when this song started playing is crazy...I could not stop crying when he said farewell and the game just ended...I've never cried over a video game really but this...man 😭 This scene was so good and I really needed to hear those words...I still think about this moment to this day

Each Pokemon game gets better and better as years go by but nothing can beat Black and White. When I played this game it the story line really touched my heart. I wish it didn't have to stop, but all good journeys must come to end somewhere. Farewell N you will never be forgotten and Ghetsis I hope God changes your heart.

For all those talking about how this song's melody was originally used in Mother 3 - it's likely not a coincidence. The original Pokemon team was nothing more than a few of the guys who worked on Earthbound, banded together to make a second passion project for old time's sake.
Given how beloved both series eventually became, I'd say both iterations of the song reflect how powerful a group of talented dudes with passion can be, even when up against against the overwhelming odds of industry.
Also RIP Iwata.

Mother is a video game series made mainly by Nintendo with help by HAL Laboratories, who developed the Super Smash Bros. Series, who put in Ness and Lucas, two main characters of the series.
