And it is like a new first Gen, with only new Pokemon until you finished the main-story once. That was great, because I got really tired of seeing dozens of old pokemon over and over again.
Hm the thing about the pokemon is just an opinion. There always were pokemon based on weird objects, like "Magnemite", "Polygon", "Chimecho" and "Unown". And there always were similar Pokemon: - Krabby and Corphish - Pikachu and Minun/Plusle - Furret and Linoone - Meowth and Skitty - Dewgong and Walrein etc. I liked the pokemon of the 5th gen, you did not. But that doesn't mean they were bad in general. The questin about the concept of having pokemon may be not totally new, but it had the best spotlight in Black/White. In the other games, it was more a side-reference and nobody cared within the game. And personally, I like themes like this a lot more than defeating some boring bad guys like Team Rocket or Magma/Aqua. I had no problems with the connection to the characters, what are you talking about exactly? They really felt like friends to care about. The world.. hm. I think the 5th gen's world is big enough. But that's a matter of opinion as well. I see your point that you wished for a bigger world with more to explore. But I cannot agree with the point that the game was too easy. I had a lot of trouble with the battle between Zekrom and Reshiram (N), Ghetsis and the Pokemon-League as well. They were hard enough, considering that any other game except red/blue was way easier. X/Y and the remakes of the 3rd gen are the ones to blame, they are ridiculously easy. Speaking of "shame to the franchise" is too hard for Black/White. Diamond/Pearl were really bad, as well as X/Y and the 3rd gen remakes.

This theme. Truly I cannot stress enough that people should ignore the internets overall opinion of gen 5 and play this godlike gem. It's not that this was my first game because it wasn't. Diamond was and still even to this day, BW1 remain my games. My favourite and game to end all games. The trials you and Pokémon undergo is tough in every game, but never have I felt so involved in the Pokémon world. Your character makes a difference. Saving N, stopping Ghetsis... A gruelling end 12 Pokémon for your team to defeat, And then the golden ending. It feels like a total cliffhanger that throws you straight into BW2. I never believe I'll be so thoroughly shocked, impressed and driven to tears in Pokémon like this. And I doubt I ever will again... Until we meet again Unova!
This is probably my favorite Pokemon generation and set of Pokemon Games (including Pokemon White 2/Black 2. But the ending of X/Y made me sad in a good way when AZ got his floette back and especially the song at the end with the lyrics XD
I've been playing Pokemon since Red and Blue came out. I was in Elementary School back then and grew up with the games. Gen V is still by far my favorite.
Every Pokemon game has the evil team beaten before you fight the Elite Four and the Champion. Black and White changed that, they made Team Plasma besiege the Pokemon League. You can't even fight the Champion until the after game. This is so important that they didn't make Team Plasma die like the rest of the Teams, because unlike Team Galactic and Rocket and Magma and Aqua, Team Plasma meant something to the overarching plot. And they were never gone either, they were still there after you defeated Ghetsis and N. Not as much, but still there. None of the other Teams were really present after the games ended, because they weren't important. But Team Plasma, *tear* they made me question the Pokemon and human relationship. But none of the other Teams did. That's why they're the best Team, this plot is the best, and my god do I love this game. Now I'm hungry.
So far, it really is the last real Pokemon game... Unless SwSh can prove that wrong, but the trailer worries me greatly. I'm already disappointed with some things.
IMO that first pokemon timeline ended after Gen 4, and then Gen 5 was like 2-3 steps forward in a new direction (which was excellent). Then Gen 6 was weird cause the QoL was so overwhelming you barely had to play the actual game. This upset me so much since in B2W2 you had some npc pokemon with actual competitive hold items and well rounded movesets to prevent you from just spamming A to win. Either way once the allure of 3D wore off I think it's not a surprise why XY was the last mainline game I actually put 200+ hours into

This gen was peak pokemon. 2-D moving sprites, a great story, amazing soundtrack it had everything. I still think that pokemon should have kept the 2-D sprites and not gone 3-D.
This. This was a good game. The atmosphere, the history, the characters, and the emotion behind everything was fantastic. The old medieval style and Pokémon are great. It was the first Pokémon game where I REALLY felt truly involved as a character, not just going around training and stopping a few grunts. I grew up playing Leaf Green and Emerald. Leaf Green was fun but lacked any real "interesting" involvement in a story. Emerald I absolutely loved. It is so nostalgic for me and the remakes did great with the story, but Black and White, and their sequels, truly fascinated me as a child. It just gave off its own vibe.
When I was younger, I used to fight the Pokémon League again and again just to hear this theme (I think I did it 20 times or something) Yes, I was pretty obsessed with it and I still am x)

Gen 5 was the BEST generation. Hands down. You will NEVER EVER CHANGE MY MIND. I remember beating this game. I was 12 years old. It was Father's Day 2012, and we were spending the day at my grandpa's. I knew I had to be close to beating it, since I had already fought N and was about to battle Ghetsis. When this song dropped, though...I screamed and just started crying. This was the first Pokemon game I'd ever beaten. I had grown my Emboar to Lv.75 by then and had a full team of Pokemon at least Lv.50. I love these games. They hold a special place in my heart. Until we meet again, Unova. I WILL be back.

Galaxy Madara Thanks, I try to make it both fit and sound good with the song's atmosphere. It's hard to pull off, though, so it can take me up to 1,5 hours to make lyrics for only one soundtrack (depending on how long it takes for it to loop). And even then, I come back to some old ones to improve them! It's a long and tough process, but all the great feedback sure makes it worthwhile!
Goosebumps. Such can epic ending theme to what was a spectacular story, it fits the somewhat medieval themes of the games so well, like an ancient tale has come to a close
This is by far my favorite generation! I've played them all and I can honestly say this had me the most invested into the story and characters out of all of them . I play these when I was 13, and on this day 3/30/2020; I have finished a Nuzlocke challenge of this generation. Both times I beat the game I was left awestruck and found myself smiling and applauding feeling like I had just conquered something special. This game absolutely recaptured that magic I felt when I picked up Red all those years ago. The exploration, the story, characters, the pokemon and their animations, and how game freak pushed the console to the limit to put out the graphics for its time are what define a truly fantastic pokemon game in my opinion.
Unova wasnt a region. It was its own world, a world those of us who played to the end thoroughly enjoyed. Unova has a charm to it I only found in Sinnoh, a world that I would gladly love to visit again. And again. And again. The stories, the lore, the music, the people, the Pokemon. All beautifully crafted and enjoyable to the fullest.
Every. Single. Time. I'm crying right now. Pokemon Black was my very first Pokemon game, and it was the first I beat, so it has a very special place in my heart. Gen 5 will ALWAYS be the best generation of Pokemon.

I was floored by the ending of this game. I just watched a kid get disowned by his dad and question his beliefs and he just goes “farewell” and then this theme plays. I almost started crying and I WAS 11. These game were the best

I was like... so proud that i beat my 3rd Pokemon Game (Did not play gen 1 or 2) and later on as I wait for Black2/White2 to come out I had over 670 hours on my White version. and on my Black 2 i had like 200 hours or so on it till i waited for X/Y to come around. I remember how excited I was for black and white that I actually bought white in japanese. I was so amazed by this ending song and it fit perfectly with the battle with N and Ghetis finally being over. Also, it was a perfect way to end the game's epic story which I knew was epic even though I couldn't read it XD.
I don't mind playing the games in japanese. Pokemon games are linear enough where it is not that hard to figure out where to go and what to do. Would I play and buy every game in japanese? No this was just the one exception and I didn't want to wait 6 months for the next generation.
agree and also definitely among the best characters/character development! bianca, cheren, and n had very significant and well-written character development arcs and you don't see that often in pokemon. even alder who was a bad champion battle-wise had quite a unique personality and philosophy.
Honestly I want an entirely unique generation 5 anime, not an Ashnime, nor that shit called "Best Wishes", but a true generation 5 anime, following closely the game's storyline, following the adventures of either Hilbert, Hilda or another completely new character, being a series that ends with a movie, where this theme would play during the end credits before the scroll up credits appear, and that would be the best Pokemon anime ever created. Gen 5 needs more love, and much more representations that Gen 1. If such anime would exist, I would be so happy.

Then when I try to settle down they say stuff like: "I upgraded my Pokemon with the Purple stuff" "Yeah I brought my Pokemon with the Blue stuff"... Any hints for making them go away?

This theme. Truly I cannot stress enough that people should ignore the internets overall opinion of gen 5 and play this godlike gem. It's not that this was my first game because it wasn't. Diamond was and still even to this day, BW1 remain my games. My favourite and game to end all games. The trials you and Pokémon undergo is tough in every game, but never have I felt so involved in the Pokémon world. Your character makes a difference. Saving N, stopping Ghetsis...
A gruelling end 12 Pokémon for your team to defeat, And then the golden ending. It feels like a total cliffhanger that throws you straight into BW2. I never believe I'll be so thoroughly shocked, impressed and driven to tears in Pokémon like this. And I doubt I ever will again...

This is probably my favorite Pokemon generation and set of Pokemon Games (including Pokemon White 2/Black 2. But the ending of X/Y made me sad in a good way when AZ got his floette back and especially the song at the end with the lyrics XD
I've been playing Pokemon since Red and Blue came out. I was in Elementary School back then and grew up with the games. Gen V is still by far my favorite.
Every Pokemon game has the evil team beaten before you fight the Elite Four and the Champion. Black and White changed that, they made Team Plasma besiege the Pokemon League. You can't even fight the Champion until the after game. This is so important that they didn't make Team Plasma die like the rest of the Teams, because unlike Team Galactic and Rocket and Magma and Aqua, Team Plasma meant something to the overarching plot. And they were never gone either, they were still there after you defeated Ghetsis and N. Not as much, but still there. None of the other Teams were really present after the games ended, because they weren't important. But Team Plasma, *tear* they made me question the Pokemon and human relationship. But none of the other Teams did. That's why they're the best Team, this plot is the best, and my god do I love this game.

IMO that first pokemon timeline ended after Gen 4, and then Gen 5 was like 2-3 steps forward in a new direction (which was excellent). Then Gen 6 was weird cause the QoL was so overwhelming you barely had to play the actual game. This upset me so much since in B2W2 you had some npc pokemon with actual competitive hold items and well rounded movesets to prevent you from just spamming A to win. Either way once the allure of 3D wore off I think it's not a surprise why XY was the last mainline game I actually put 200+ hours into
Even if I stop playing Pokemon, it will hold a very special place in my heart.

This. This was a good game. The atmosphere, the history, the characters, and the emotion behind everything was fantastic. The old medieval style and Pokémon are great. It was the first Pokémon game where I REALLY felt truly involved as a character, not just going around training and stopping a few grunts. I grew up playing Leaf Green and Emerald. Leaf Green was fun but lacked any real "interesting" involvement in a story. Emerald I absolutely loved. It is so nostalgic for me and the remakes did great with the story, but Black and White, and their sequels, truly fascinated me as a child. It just gave off its own vibe.
Listening to this theme after N's farewell is one of the best feelings I've ever felt

I remember beating this game. I was 12 years old. It was Father's Day 2012, and we were spending the day at my grandpa's. I knew I had to be close to beating it, since I had already fought N and was about to battle Ghetsis. When this song dropped, though...I screamed and just started crying. This was the first Pokemon game I'd ever beaten. I had grown my Emboar to Lv.75 by then and had a full team of Pokemon at least Lv.50.
I love these games. They hold a special place in my heart.

Galaxy Madara Thanks, I try to make it both fit and sound good with the song's atmosphere. It's hard to pull off, though, so it can take me up to 1,5 hours to make lyrics for only one soundtrack (depending on how long it takes for it to loop).
And even then, I come back to some old ones to improve them! It's a long and tough process, but all the great feedback sure makes it worthwhile!

This is by far my favorite generation! I've played them all and I can honestly say this had me the most invested into the story and characters out of all of them . I play these when I was 13, and on this day 3/30/2020; I have finished a Nuzlocke challenge of this generation. Both times I beat the game I was left awestruck and found myself smiling and applauding feeling like I had just conquered something special. This game absolutely recaptured that magic I felt when I picked up Red all those years ago. The exploration, the story, characters, the pokemon and their animations, and how game freak pushed the console to the limit to put out the graphics for its time are what define a truly fantastic pokemon game in my opinion.
9 years later I've decided to play this game once again as I was bored with the quarantine. And damn, that ending blew me away.

I came back to this song for today, just to remember my time in Unova, and this moved me to tears as all the memories came flooding in. Happy 25th Pokémon.

Pokemon Black and White was my first game, even though I had no idea what Pokemon truly was, I still remember every moment of the first time I played through Pokemon White. I remember when I first beat my White version... I was like... so proud that i beat my 3rd Pokemon Game (Did not play gen 1 or 2) and later on as I wait for Black2/White2 to come out I had over 670 hours on my White version.

I agree wholeheartedly. 0:25-0:36 sounds like a variation of GS’s main theme, and the style in general reminds me a lot of the credits in The Lost Age.
I remember how excited I was for black and white that I actually bought white in japanese. I was so amazed by this ending song and it fit perfectly with the battle with N and Ghetis finally being over. Also, it was a perfect way to end the game's epic story which I knew was epic even though I couldn't read it XD.

I don't mind playing the games in japanese. Pokemon games are linear enough where it is not that hard to figure out where to go and what to do. Would I play and buy every game in japanese? No this was just the one exception and I didn't want to wait 6 months for the next generation.

Honestly I want an entirely unique generation 5 anime, not an Ashnime, nor that shit called "Best Wishes", but a true generation 5 anime, following closely the game's storyline, following the adventures of either Hilbert, Hilda or another completely new character, being a series that ends with a movie, where this theme would play during the end credits before the scroll up credits appear, and that would be the best Pokemon anime ever created. Gen 5 needs more love, and much more representations that Gen 1. If such anime would exist, I would be so happy.
