Why do some people think Gen 5 was in bad taste? It was so intellectual and touching, with a great plot and emotional ties. It had a wonderful way of keeping the player connected.
That shitty experience system based on your's and your opponent's Pokémon levels
I thought the games were great, sadly the anime screwed up big time.
The original Black/White had the best story. It was a lot more meaningful, philosophic and deeper than all other games before and after. Only the designs of most new pokemon were "meh" to me.

B/W and B/W2 were the most satisfying Pokemon games I’ve ever played. I think as a kid it was hard to wrap my head around these concepts (probably why the games werent initially received so well). But now that I’m looking back on them, i can truly understand and appreciate what they brought for me. Back then i only had a vague idea, but now that ive experienced them while growing up, i can see this game on a much deeper level. I think a lot of people are coming back now and seeing how valuable this experience is. Black and White, especially, I believe has true real world value. Having different ideals as others, learning that you can be wrong but with good intentions, standing for what you believe in, and achieving your ideals in the most non-cheesy realistic way is a heavy and hard concept to teach. Pokemon Black and White became a journey that helped build within a young mind the idea of self-realization, a concept that i argue many adults can’t hang on to in the pressure of different societal ideals. Yet despite that, in Black and White, you pushed on and were taught what it took to find your ideals and make them the truth. To internalize the idea, they gave the lesson to children who are just going through a time where they develop a lot of who they are, hoping they their journey of growth will build character and confidence so that the adventure is fulfilling.
*inhales* There are a lot buried within this game. That, to me, is what made the experience so irreplaceable. So I can wholeheartedly say that Pokemon White was life changing.
100% I thought 2 was better but after playing volt white and blaze black the story and life lessons are amazing. As a kid they flew over my head but now at 24 it applies to life. N’s farewell makes me cry and gives me chills. Dream your dream with ideals and truth make the world with it you can change the world if anyone can it’s you! Alder going just because you have different ideas and opinions doesn’t make it wrong. This applies to life on whatever it is. N and Alder to me are the goat Pokémon characters. I understand why at the time B and W were misunderstood because most of us were kids at the time I was 14 hilbert and hilda’s age. But now at 24 I get it.
I played Pokémon White when I was 11, my first Pokémon game, and even at a young age, I understood the message the game sent and it was my absolute favorite after finishing it. At just the age of 11, I cried when N flew away, if that tells you anything on how moved I was with the game. I still embrace gen 5 today, loving the story, the message and the characters all alike. N will always be one of my favorite characters ever and the story would be one of my favorites as well

Yeah no doubt gen 5 is the best and it isn’t close. Alder the goat champion and it has nothing to do with strength or theme. Alder is so strong morally and N may be the goat character. N and Alder are my favourite characters I cry like a baby when N does his farewell speech and flies off. I too wish Pokémon could discuss topics like BW did but seems more like they are appealing to younger audiences now rather than the older fans of the games which sucks cause you could be that young and still enjoy a game which can hold even deeper meaning in the future, that to me makes a perfect childhood game

Most of the poketubers are grown dudes older than me 24 and the people commenting are adults. So I don’t understand making it appeal to younger audiences because the majority of people who play it now are adults at least from what I’ve seen. Plus gen 5 is so dark ghetsis is like the leader of isis, the girl who died abra, N’s upbringing and abuse by ghetsis that’s way too dark for kids. It used to be though. But definitely if black white 3 comes to the switch that’s a dream come true. N is the goat character and alder the goat champion.

Felt like a movie
The Black and White story was the only pokemon game that left me shocked. It was the last game I played before becoming a teen and later a young man. I sometimes miss my Braviary whenever I pick up a pokemon game. Nothing has nor probably will compare to the car-trip where I faced N, realizing the true extent of his desire, and realizing that, hell, I might be the antagonist of this story. He was wrong but, I might be as well. We were respected equals, good people with flaws and only the best intentions, placed in our positions by simple luck, and playing our part on a much larger stage. Fighting as opposites when we were just brothers. N was a great character and the story was incredible, especially in that stage of my life when I was starting to think a little deeper on things. Can't beat that.

Black was the first Pokèmon game for me when I was 13. I remember finishing it in less than a week and I was heartbroken about N.
I thought that he would kiss my character before flying away (silly, I know).
anyways, a year later I owned Black 2, finally won against the water arena boss (I can't remember his name) and cried when N fucking appeared. I didn't realize how much I had missed him until that point. I kinda developed a crush on N that lasted for half a year. In January, I bought White because I didn't want to delete my (completly finished) data on Black. I only bought it to see N again and guess what I did at the end? Cry like a little bitch.
The same day I finished Black 2 and immediatly went to N's castle (I had seen a video before). Just knowing that I would get to see N every Friday made me happy.
My crush on N was getting smaller by that time and after I got into Doctor Who, it was gone but I will forever love N and he will forever have a special place in my heart

In the 5th Generation was my favorite.
And do I mean go back.Go back in future games of Pokemon
When i was younger i had a friend and this person means so much to me as they were the best and this game was my first Pokemon game when i was young it first came out. When ever i see the ending of this game it reminds me of my friend as N leaves and says "you said you had a dream... that dream... make it come true!" as feeling like the protagonist as N inspires them like my friend had to me. This game will always have a special place in my heart as my favorite in the series.
Imagine watching this and still not accepting this game was the peak of Pokémon.

I respect the gen 5 people after seeing this. I played black 2 and not bw yet, but I really want to now. As a gen 7 person I understand that gen 5 and 7 are quite similar in how they were welcomed. All the new things that were brought and the differences from other games have been disliked and hated. I understand how frustrating this is to see everyone hating in your favourite games and u gotta say that after playing black 2 my respect for unova has gone so high and after I play B/W it’ll only go higher
when you break it down, black and white's story is about N through the perspective of the player.
Pokemon Black and White saved my life. (This comment deals with heavy topics, so if that makes you feel uncomfortable, please don't read my comment.) I was at a really difficult time of my life. I was planning on not going on much longer. I was planning my death by my own hands. However, I received Pokemon Black for my birthday. Ever since, I had changed my mind about ending my life...
I remember, when I defeated Ghetsis on my 1st try. I remember Ghetsis saying things like, "I AM PERFECTION!" and things like that. But then... Ghetsis was escorted out of the throne room, and everything fell into silence...
N then walked up to my character, saying there was something he needed to tell her. It was that her Pokemon liked her. I never felt like anyone or anything liked me until that moment.
Then, after some tear-jerking dialog, N said, "Make your wonderful dream a reality, and it will become your truth! (My name here)! If anyone can, it's you!" That quote saved my life. That quote taught me that I am the only person that can make my dream a reality. That philosophy keeps me going on today. I remember, how hard I cried, when N said "Farewell!" and then the credits rolled. After the credits, I saw an image of N flying on Zekrom. I started crying even harder. Despite all the tears I cried at the end of this game, it saved my life.
Pokemon Black saved my life.
Nintendo, please remake this game that saved my life!
And here I am, now, one and a half hours away from doing a countdown to New Year's Day. I plan to sync the ending of Pokemon White to the countdown, so N says "Farewell!" when the timer hits zero.
Edit: I did the New Year's Countdown thing. It was perfect.

I played all the way through this game when I was 10, this ending almost made me cry when I got to this scene. lol, kids of this generation will never understand what Pokemon used to be like. Also, I could've sworn N says "Farewell, [Player name]!"; guess I'm remembering something wrong.

N’s Farewell is hands down the best/saddest song Pokémon has ever made. I played this game when I was 11, and I’m 13 now, so the game was out for a long while, but the story and the characters changed me. I played Gen 8 and thought it was such a good game, but when I played Gen 5, Galar seemed like nothing compared to Unova. Watching N leave on Zekrom/Reshiram was heartbreaking, especially paired with the music and the words he says. I would say with full confidence that I regretted not a single second of playing that game. We don’t need more Sinnoh remakes, we need Unova remakes. And I’m 100% sure I’m not alone on that. What I would give to see N again. After B/W and B2/W2, we never see him again, lost to Pokémon history. We, the Gen 5 Pokemon fans, need a Unova remake. We need to see N again.

At first I really didn't like black/white but after playing them again years later I can really appreciate them. Story is good and really original where then end of the main game isn't you becoming champion.
And the soundtracks are great. Easily the best ending theme.

N had a really great character development it was really cool
The whole story felt like a fantasy where its like a dream and the start it hit hard remembering the first steps on a new route with your friend starting your new adventure then from the moment you beat N for the final time i know its not perfect many people for some reason hated it I think its one of the best pokemon games plot wise nobody's gonna change my opinion about it

After seeing what they’re doing with Diamond and Pearl, I think I’ll stick with the originals. This is in my opinion the greatest Pokémon game ever made. Not necessarily my favorite, I’ve been there since the very beginning after all. But objectively speaking B&W are the best in terms of quality. And I’d hate for them to brought into the modern gaming era with only slightly better cosmetic look. They deserve more than that.
Better: imagine a Legend Pokemon Arceus about Unova, the original dragon, all that storyline. It will be epic.
I don't have high hopes for the actual BW remake, but still, they original game is such a masterpiece that there's no way to ruin it without doing in on purpose.

FAXX but back in 2014 when I was 13 and played Unova for the first time I was dumb, so in short I still had a blast bc I liked all the new Pokemon from that game and it introduced my favorite designed starter the Tepig family. Gen 5 really got me into Pokémon and I'm glad I started out with Unova.
I was 6 when i played, of course I thought it wasn't anything incredible lore-wise. I could barely read, let alone understanding all this.

The only ending theme to be super up beat. Rather than focus on the end of the journey, it’s just the end of a chapter. The B2W2 closed it out with a soft ending theme

i still vividly remember crying when i got to this scene when i was younger. N was my first *real* childhood crush (we dont speak about the dragon.) and i was devastated that i would never see him again. it still makes me sad that we havent seen him again. i just hope that the b/w remakes dont go with the bdsp chibi style.
