Immortal Thor #5: The Ultimate Power of Thor

- The moon is a battlefield of Thunder gods. Thor has assembled a new Thor Corps, a group of heroes armed with his power, and now they stand Toranos: the elder God of Thunder. Gaea’s child has a plan to vanquish his foe, but it will require the full power of Thor and giving up his hammer into the hands of his enemy.
Yes, I think Atum/Demogorge is just a tool to clear the board from the previous cycle. The new cycle was all the new pantheons of gods (Asgardians, Olympians, Ennead, etc) who arose from the godstuff released by Atum after he consumed the Elder Gods. And that's the cycle that Gaea is now warning will end (maybe via Demogorge again!).
Awesome way to end the year. Thanks for not letting us down with another great read.
Thanks for another great Thor video! As others have mentioned, I really like the insight and commentary. Plus, I get a sense you research a lot of topics allowing you to go into detail without getting lost as you work thru the story.
Thanks for toy hard work
I’m glad people enjoy it, plus it’s fun to research all those different aspects
@@ThorTalkCan you do a video about the times Thor's hammer mjolnir has clashed with either Cap's shield or Adamantium?
Great video as always.
Happy holidays Thor Talk
Same to you!
Not many arcs have Thor using his wits to best a foe.
Always great to see it
Good to see you posting bro!
Thank you. It’s good to hear from you, bróðir. You’ve been killing it lately, it seems like 200k subscribers is coming soon
@@ThorTalk Skol to 200k bro ! We should whip something up together again when we get the chance!
I’d love to and I do keep getting comments asking when we’ll do another collab. I’ll start thinking of some ideas and try to reach out again after the holidays to see if we can make something again.
@ThorTalk I'll be ready bro ! Can't wait man. Happy Holidays !!!
Another great video! I appreciate the insight you provide!
My favorite Thor channel! Knows the lore (or at least, researches it) and dives deep in every episode. I love when the opening stanzas are translated and how it relates to the story. I also love how epic the Norse accent and narration sounds in every episode! I wonder if you would consider going into Thor's back-catalog and review older issues, like the Lee/Kirby run (where some of the greatest Marvel Asgard stories were told), Thor #300, Simonson's run, Jurgens' run (Destroyer, Surtur, Lord of Earth/The Reigning, Ragnarok), JMS's run, and finally Jason Aaron's Jane Thor (not my favorite, but still would like to hear your analysis). Finally, yours is the best outro on the 'tube! Great content!
Thank you for your kind words (I’m sorry that I somehow missed them until now). I definitely will do some more videos on those comics at some point. Unfortunately I’ve just been busy with things outside of TH-cam so it’s hard to find the time, but those are the ones that contributed to me falling in love with the character.
15:30 Remember that time when Mangeto took the hammer and messed up New York city, killing half of the heroes? I do
I think he killed half of everyone on earth that time
What do you think about the reveal about Geia Thors mother in this issues?
this has been confirmed years ago decades even.
@@kyleking8833 No apparently Geia sent the villain of this issue to destroy earth. I find that weird.
I didn’t mention it because I thought it was already revealed (probably in an interview with Ewing), but I’ll give my thoughts: it’s most likely a necessary evil thing. Either Gaea is being forced to do this in order for earth to stand a chance (like if she didn’t unleash them then the earth would explode or something) or it’s all to train up Thor to stop a greater threat. The only other possibility that comes to mind is that maybe she now considers humanity to be a threat to life continuing to survive on earth with pollution and everything so she’s using the elder gods wipe them out since she knows earth’s protectors will stop anything other than the strongest of the strong. This would definitely be the most villainous reason, but I can’t see Gaea remaining a villain even if they do decide to make her briefly genocidal
@@ThorTalk Thanks for the response.
Dario and Amora served on the Dark Council together. He seemed to have forgotten this.
I gotta feeling scourge and the enchantress are secretly plotting something that'll benefit thanos in some way shape or form. A rope-a-dope if u will
i think the idea of many thors is overused....had them when doom became God emperor doom, the Thor corps ...then had many third when they fought gor the god butcher....and now this
This channel is alsome 💯
With superman vs goku debate heating still, may i ask random question? Can thor beat them?
For goku yes for superman it depends on what version
Well he definitely CAN beat both of them. I don’t think anyone other than the most delusional fanboys would claim otherwise. As to whether he would win more than he loses, I think people will debate that forever. For me though, it’s complicated. I love anime, but I have yet to watch a single episode of Dragon Ball so I can’t really say too much on that. For Superman, I think it would definitely be a close one. Thor has some good advantages like having magic and a lot of experience facing Superman ripoffs in Marvel, but Superman has a lot going for him too. I’ve been wanting to do a video on that for a while but there’s just so much to unpack and new comics keep coming out that can change the dynamic. I probably will make that video someday though
superman extraversal goku multiversal thor extraversal. goku is the weakest here.

Wait is the thumb nail actually storm breaker?the movies version?
That’s Tormod, a new axe Thor forged three issues ago. The current design does seem to be based on MCU Stormbreaker though
@@ThorTalk yup and I’m really happy
@@ThorTalk I just watched the third issue as I keep just seeing your vids and stop while waiting for more vids
@@ThorTalk Tbh I really want like a thor fan comic produced by you it would bring the character some justice since uh the uh stone almost beating him and uh everyone being mean to thor in endgame
When is the next issue?
January 24th. It like we’re getting a flashback to Thor and Loki’s first encounter with Utgard-Loki.
@@ThorTalk thanks bro
