Got mine just before Christmas. Rides really well, extremely quiet, and very fuel efficient. You know its a good car when Hafiz spends nearly 30 minutes on it hahaha
gratz...how is it so far, in terms of vibration when idling, etc? i have no chance to test it out yet in kuching.
U can feel the vibrations a bit when in idle. But not very obvious. On the move, you hardly feel it. Very fuel efficient, hit 23 km per litre on a recent 120km trip.

My VW Jetta 1.4l turbo only hit 15km to 17km on highway as it weighs 1.4 tons.
@@galaxymetta5974 that's already quite good for a 1.4 tonne car. The Almera is just a touch above 1.1 tonnes, and that definitely helps with fuel consumption as there is less weight to lug around

This new Almera ticks most of the boxes for a comfortable and safe city car, more so than the Vios and City.

I’m 26 this year and currently driving my retired dad’s 2008 Camry to work everyday over the last few years. He said, “if you want to buy a new car, get something better than my Camry”. This Almera might be it hahaha

My CRV 1.5T also have same idle vibration which is annoying. It doesn't happened in CX5

Received mine yesterday. I'm very much satisfied and enjoy all of its features. Nevertheless, the vibration during idle does bother a bit, especially when you're used to driving a larger CC, 4 cylinder engine car. But if you don't think about it, you actually don't realize that much. I'm pretty sure eventually i'll get used to it. Other than that, its been a wonderful drive and met all my expectations. It's an allrounder, comfort, and sustainable car. I'm happy with the decision made.
Test drove it few days ago, the only thing that bothers me is the vibration when idling but overall is a good first impression. Nonetheless, i'll proceed with booking bcoz it ticks all the boxes-spacious, fuel economy, better looks than the city and vios

Hello Hafriz, I have one now top model for my daughter and agreed the white leather worry for its naturally gets dirty however I am not bother because it can be clean and maintain with relevant leather cleaner. Interior is totally big love for me compared to previous Almera and Latio.Overall Love this car in driving , quality looks, handling, good finishing. How I wish this car power to 110-120ps to get more fun.
It's a turbo car, in theory you could send the ECU to be tuned to upgrade its horsepower a little bit

Perfomance like 0-60 or lap time not things that we really concerned for any b-segment car..most important is good to drive and safety features..for me almera has better design than any other b segment..i choose almera anyway..huhu

This car has idle stop/start function? You won't feel the vibrations then because the engine will be off.

Need to compare it to the Honda City RS first to be sure which choice is the better one.
Its hard to compare with RS unless Nissan Almera uses the same type of electric support like E-Power which have in Nissan Kicks. You can compare to non hybrid version in terms of power and handling.

If 4 adults sits in the Almera, will it even be able to push forward effortlessly? Or perhaps a small hill climb?
Even Kancil can climb up the hill with 4 people which released 20 years ago, things have change a lot, why Honda using 1.5T for big fat Accord?

Why radios did not have RDS anymore? The arm rest looks like a bicycle seat, the key is boring, the semi info display with straight separator with the analog dial is ugly .. erm no dash cam too....

the dimension of the new Almera is so close to a C segment now...it sits well on the road...and it doesn't have that narrow look of the Vios...
one suggestion I like to see is , is to start the video with the driving impression first then u start with the other aspects ..bcos of the long nature of the video, waiting for the actual driving impression takes kinda long , but then again...!
yeah, the new almera looked mature & grown up unlike its competitor which i feel its trying too hard to be sporty for a B-segment family sedan

Yes...durable...engine reliable n durable...my almera (2014) with 240,000km still smooth without single problem...
nissan is good at high perfomance turbo engine.

I find the D-Step Logic on the CVT (and other similar systems) which simulate gear shifts a little annoying, as power is lost when the revs drop to simulate the shift. Other than that, it looks quite competitive for the features it comes with.
i wonder why they need to try to mimic the behavior of a torque converter gearbox. mayb for fuel saving or other reasons? if the gearshift feels is so important, why not just use a good torque converter gearbox. just my 2 cents opinion
I don't find it annoying at all. Because it revs up and down the range, it avoids that rubber band effect most CVTs suffer from.
@@hafrizshah4937 regular drivers will never know and don't bother as long as the transmission is smooth. I for one do not like cvt but i have to say subaru cvt is pretty good
@@hafrizshah4937 I like the idea that the CVT is always engaged in the correct gearing ratio all the time and don't mind the rubber band feeling. Maybe car manufacturers can allow users to select whether they want a stepped gearchange or a continuously variable gearchange.

After watching this review, I am very proud to say that I chose Toyota Yaris 2021
Why?
Drove mine for 15k+ km so far and I drive 160-180 on the highway if there are little cars, the handling at that speed is pretty shaky from the driver's side, you could actually feel the need to control the steering wheel much harder but I guess this applies to most cars. However, even going at 110km/h on the highway, the sound is just crazy loud. Even higher than that and the wind/road sounds even surpasses the music that has been turned up to 60%. Pretty meh on the highway but great at cities / towns, but it definitely took a huge leap forward from the previous generation and the Honda Cities
How does it compare to the Vios?

I guess all low cars are as Noisy , I own Vios and it's noisy when driving speed 80-100 even with Conti CCS6 noisy tyre compare with Michelin

Why the front boot is designed that way? They could just open the whole thing until the grill. Yet they cut is somewhat in a weird ugly position?

Gotta respect the difference of almera has changed, but yet i still feel confident, safe and stylish to vios and city and i really really love the GR-Vios.

What a shame that little engine, such a fine looking car could have been on top of my list if it had a decent engine.
yes it's 1 Liter only. but it got Turbo for speed and decent pickup. and it's also fuel effiecient. quite a good trade off

Almera or Vento in terms of ride and handling ?
Vento of course! European vs asian handling (except mazda handling which is on par with European marque)
I think Almera is a better all-rounder as compare to Vento.
Almera's handling might not as sharp as Vento, power is less than Vento. but it's really nice to drive, composed at the highway, very well-control in the corner, better NVH when accelerating, and has significant bigger cabin space.
Test drive both cars yourself, and you know which ones suit your appetite :)
But if you really like the Vento, maybe you can wait for the next generation model ya
Personally, I much prefer the Almera.
Vento owner here.
Almera is more comfort, handle pothholes much better, quieter tyres rolling sound. Basically a more comfortable car for family.
While Vento stiffer suspension is having better handling and less bodyroll when cornering. The low profile tyres and stiff suspension really makes pothholes a nightmare when you're driving with speed.
Almera is a better all rounder in my opinion. Noted that the NVH of Almera just simply impressive, conti car level, it's a much better family car.
But Vento is more engaging to drive and more fun. The DSG is just so much nicer to drive. Not in low speed though, it jerks sometimes.
Conclusion. Vento is nicer to drive (TSI+DSG). Other than that, Almera is a better car.
Con is VW spare parts are more expensive with lower resale value. But VW is fun to drive with more solid protective shell. From owner of 2015 vw Jetta 1.4T.

Me personally, I would go for a standard variant Proton X70 over the highest spec City, Vios or Almera. Price is almost the same. But if you still want a B-segment sedan then I think this Almera is the way to go.
X70 is a heavy suv and a petrol guzzler compared to Almera good fuel consumption.
But cup maintenance will be different , tyre is more expensive too ..... Alot of ppl thought that , some even upgrade from myvi to top range x70 den jz realized that each of the 19 inch tyre cost them RM660 , so they decide to opt for China tyre lolx
Vios facelift has a good proportion design from rear to the front and also got sportier look. Btw Vios the only B segment has LED headlamp across the range.

i owned a mazda 2 (gen 1) with full skirting for about RM90k otr, before the LED DRL (gen 2) version. if i am looking for a car right now, i will probably will not considering the mazda 2 because its pretty expensive. I prefer the seats on mine with the red stitching then the latest model .
*Still CVT?? forget it. The should hv ditched the problematic cvt and revert back to the good ol reliable single clutch auto transmission*

The size (W x L x H) is smaller than Honda city. I prefer bigger and cheaper Japanese car.

but... is not a better car than a honda or a toyota even though the new ones from honda and toyota now days have lower quality for each year now. nissan now days are much worse quality. lol people saying the older almera is ugly i own a almera from 2006 i don't think those are ugly. i think the new ones are lol. my version from 2006 might have an issue in the future with the timing chain but currently it is running smoothly with no issues. it's engine is very simple so changing it myself would not be too hard. But i don't think buying a new nissan now is a good idea, it might be better to lease one if you absolutely have to get one. 18:00 Im sorry but you are probably not aware of is that the automatic transmission with a CVT from nissan is the worst in history lol. its excellent when it works but don't do burnouts or do any kinds of towing. and the cooling system for the transmission is also an issue on some models. but i could always be wrong because this is a newer transmission. so only time will tell if this is a better one :)
