Well , I’m coming from owning an old Nissan Sunny, and with this new Almera Turbo.....it is super sufficient for me for the next 5 or 10 years.......Great review from both of you.....
My thoughts on owning the Honda Ciyy 1.5 V : Love the car overall. Impressed that this car is this refined for this price. It's personally hard to justify higher segment cars unless you are really going for performance. Comfort is overall really good. I am coming from a Perodua Bezza and this is such a huge upgrade. Suspension is rather stiff but in a good way. It still manages to feel comfortable over even rough kampung roads. On highways, cabin NVH is good at 100km/h. Tire roll gets annoying any faster. Changing tires might help here. Will switch to Michelin comfort tires once these factory Toyo ones wear out. Practicality is great. Boot is massive and seat can be folded down. Loading up all my things is easy. Only issue is the tunnel when you fold seats down has some parts making it not perfectly square. Do Visit showroom to see this for yourself. I don't mind it. Just gotta be more creative with how I arrange my things. Moving on, passengers have also said that they found the car to be super comfortable. Ferried my friends over to makan spots and they love sitting in my car. Next, performance. For legal speeds, it's more than sufficient. Gets up to speed in no problem. Pushing on after 110km/h starts to show the limitations of the car but it's not recommended either way as cruising at higher speeds isn't comfortable imo. Pedal shifters are fun and can be engaged in D or S gear mode. Makes overtaking more fun and makes it behave exactly like a traditional automatic. Steering is light and tuned for practicality. There is no feedback but it's precise and very responsive. Despite of its power, it is fun to chuck around a twisty road Fuel efficiency is great. 20+ km/l on highways and around 10.5-11km/l in normal town traffic. Full tank can go about 400-450km Service has been a good experience overall. Did 1 month and 6 months service now and both went smoothly. Good customer service. Cost about RM400 for 6 month service Overall, great car. Gonna be my daily driver for years to come. I might get a sportier car eventually for weekend drives but I'll definitely keep this around as I know this will stay reliable in long run. I mainly chose this over Almera because of after sales network and reputation. Honda beats Nissan on that regard. Other than that, cruise control was also something I wanted. You have to get the most expensive Almera to get that. Honda City with rebates and all was around 82k for me. I don't think you can go wrong with any of these two cars. Test drive them and give it a fair shake. Enjoy!
Depends on your luck. But sadly heard that lots of quality issues for honda, which is worst than Nissan. Many city owners complaining about many quality issues such as steering rack, rubber lining, honda cvt, minor rattling from dashboard, car paint quality and others. Going to honda service center but problems cannot end. Even I owned my HRV 2019 owner, got lots of quality issues such as steering rack, honda cvt, power window and yet until now also still can't able to solve problem. Even one of HRV owner who also owned same year as mine, but worst than my HRV, listed out 22 quality part issues such as wind noises, rattle noises and others. Besides, even many of Civic fe owners also faced many quality issues such as wind noises, alignment, rubber lining and others. And two of new Civic buyers also complain about loose part for rear aircond and body quality also more like plastic.
Already test drive both car... Almera is more exciting to drive... Very effortless when U accelerate compared to city...City bunyi mengaum agak jelas bila tekan pedal utk accelerate.
Turbocharged engine got torque coming it at low RPM. Hence, Almera feels effortless Up to the end user though. I prefer naturally aspirated engines. They are tanks in reliability and no need to worry so much

dont forget city have auto increase and decrease volume audio but almera have many function setting audio. means that almera have a good audio setting.
When I test-drove the Almera before, the few things that stood out immediately were: 1) It's so quiet. It doesn't have the standard and annoying CVT sound (mengaung). When the car took off, I almost couldn't hear any engine sound. Nice 2) When it took off, it did it SO effortlessly. The force that pulled the car was so meaty and instant. I never had that feeling driving other cars 3) Very nice seat with extra thigh support. Better than previous Almera. I also saw in other review where the car was driven to 120km/h but the rpm was only 2000rpm. So impressive
Ya. Don't know what Tan Chong Singapore is thinking. The new Almera is miles ahead of the previous model and yet they don't import it. And ya. Why the Almera isn't available with the E-power system? What is Nissan thinking? Almera is a great looking car with great package.

I got Almera top options in Thailand three month earlier, it cost 635,000 Th baht. The handling is good. The performance feeling like a 1.8 Toyota Altis that launched in 2010s.
9:44 I think 12V sockets are more versatile, you can get cheap converters and get as many USB-A or USB-C ports that you want. Also, I don't understand why would Nissan cheap out on the boot cover (10:37) but I love that they have a plastic cover on the petrol cap cover. Same for Honda not including a proper inner fender at the back wheel of the new City. 🤦♂️
Almeera will win by a narrow margin, followed by City and lastly the vios. Vios is never a car meant for strong acceleration. I own a 2009 vios and a 2019 City. Comparing the two, City beat the 2009 Vios in literally all aspect - acceleration, handling, cabin space and quietness. I don't know about the new Vios, maybe it's better than the 2019 or 2021 city.
Top spec is 90k, it’s too expensive compared to the competition. People are sensitive about the price in this segment, even with the good design is not worth it
Went with the City 1.5V in the end and am very happy with my purchase! You can't go wrong with either definitely. It's amazing that this kind of value is available at this price point.

@@muhdahmadirfan1691 I answered you a while ago on another channel on this. I had 3 years and 70,00 km on mine with no issue. Did Nissan solve the P-1778 issue on their CVT?
I am using a 2019 City and except for the rubber band effect of the CVT, I have to say I am very happy about it - very good fuel economy ( abt 16km /litre ), very quiet, spacious and good acceleration and handling. However it seem to have a rear right axle beam problem giving knocking sound intermittently over rough road of which Honda SA agree and they are replacing that part which is under warranty. Not sure if the new 2021 city will have the same problem.
So many buyers regret buying the low quality City. Low quality windscreen, lousy paint, bad nvh, lousy steering rack, recycle plastic type of door trims..just to cut short, it was worst.

I think the Almera should’ve been priced much more competitively or have better specs, this is very price sensitive segment. Even with the nicer design, it’s not worth it for most people. Plus the top spec Proton X50 is only 10k more with all the latest bells and whistles
I’ll put my money on the City winning the drag race. I think the Almere will pick up speed faster from the start due to the higher low end torque but will run out of breadth at higher revs past 4000rpm where the City excels!
Actually the Mazda 2 is the winner in a drag race between City 1.5NA, Almeera and Persona 1.6. You can see it in a video in youtube released about 3 weeks ago. Almeera T is first ahead by a small margin but then its quickly overtaken by Mazda2 about 2 seconds later. Persona came in last and City third.
"In the Cik City, there's nothing to citer lah", then continues on with a very selamba tone. LOL always loved your subtle BM sentences in your review, GC. Simple yet makes me chuckle.
The 2019 city interior look more sophisticated and classy although it doesn't have the dual tone dash and door panels. 2021 City dash just look too simple and plain, like the saga. But 2021 City driving dynamics might be way better than 2019 City.
I prefer city. Rear aircond is very important in malaysia. Also more spacious, bigger boot, better resale value, spare part. NA car also more reliable and cheaper maintenance.

very detailed review. Awesome job. For me, city over almera. 1. Better BHP in class 2. Less noob-assistance-system 3. Can remote start 4. Has a pair of flappy-pedal gearbox 5. City has a better resale value (at least until the latest gen of city vs almera)
Different 5000 , city will be the best choice , I can use the 5000 to get the body kit and make some safety improvement like ultra racing for install . Ops , I the city v spec owner.
For me safety comes above everything else. Hence why I am disappointed that Honda Malaysia has managed to sell so many units of the latest generation City.
The 2019 city has got a rear axle beam problem. Already mine has got it and the Honda SA ( in old kland road branch ) handling my case has also reported 10 similar case which is being handled by him and it required a free axle beam replacement under warranty . However HM has not issue any official notice about this axle beam problem.
But heard that got lots of issues for city quality for steering rack, rubber lining, honda cvt, oil compressor leaking and body quality, unlike almera. Going to service center for honda but problems can’t settled

Acceleration = torque matters. Top speed = HP / displacement matters. Since both are A to B cars, acceleration wins each day.
very detailed review. Awesome job. For me, city over almera.
1. Better BHP in class
2. Less noob-assistance-system
3. Can remote start
4. Has a pair of flappy-pedal gearbox
5. City has a better resale value (at least until the latest gen of city vs almera)
Exterior + interior wise
Almeera > City
Great review guys. Drag race please 😊
I like the new Almera more then new City..
City V sense newborn just top it all. Hands down. No regret
I want to watch the drag race. Can't wait to see the outcome
But why Nissan did not test Almera for NCAP rating? just curious..
Love to see H City, N Almera, T vios and Mazda 2 on a drag race
Different 5000 , city will be the best choice , I can use the 5000 to get the body kit and make some safety improvement like ultra racing for install .
Ops , I the city v spec owner.
U need the ultra racing bar for sure as city will feel like sitting on a boat when reaching higher speed
GC mah with her kinky “underneath cik city” phrase.😏
Gc mah you are so handsome
around 100k but no disc at rear ?
Nice review bro. i wonder why the owner of serena didnt review the almera instead🤣
Can do Vios and Almera video ?
Please do a drag race and include the vios as well.....
The lighter the engine for front wheel Drive cars the better suspension on rough surfaces and STEERING will be lighter ..so Almera wins in this part
No one talks abt almera’s 7k KM service intervals?
How many new amera otr? 🤔
Actually i haven't seen that many when compared to the City. I think it's due to Almeera high price.
Pls do City RS comparison
GC Mah, itu jam sudah boleh tukar. Samsung S3 galaxy watch right? hehe
Not sure if you guys can help me , i wonder if the Almera 1.0 is in Philippines
Pls do the drag race between this 2 car
@10:45: I see longer is more usable 👀🤣🤣🤣
At 85k price point though, I think the Almera Turbo wins over the City V.
However HM has not issue any official notice about this axle beam problem.
can’t wait for the drag race!
Please do the moose test
Almera is the clear winner.
Yessss, drag race needed!!!
Do not expect too much on the turbo. 1.0 turbo is even powerless compared to 1.5NA.
But heard that got lots of issues for city quality for steering rack, rubber lining, honda cvt, oil compressor leaking and body quality, unlike almera. Going to service center for honda but problems can’t settled
