I may have already said this before, but I am only 20 years old and your channel gives me all the confidence I need to step out in vintage outfits. I’ve never felt like myself in modern clothing and Although I am still in college, I want my entire wardrobe to be 50s 60s inspired. I had a lovely family friend Gift me some money for Poshmark and I was able to buy three 1950s beaded sweaters which are my favorite thing in the entire world and I hope to continue that collection. I used to deal with extreme social anxiety, but now I am seeing other people address more authentic to themselves and it’s helpful for me as well. It looks like you found some really great treasures today.

Since finding your channel I’ve gutted an old TV to make it work with modern streaming just like yours. Me and my family watch an episode of Dick Van Dyke on it every night before bed! I got an amazing old record player and love listening to my music on it. I made a Christmas bubble candle garland by following your tutorial. I’ve started my vintage brooch collection! Heavens! Fabulous! FYI when you hang the curtains, fold the pleats at the bottom and tie them. Let them hang like that for several days. The weight will help create the pleat top to bottom. Love the curtains! Those are my favorite of your finds, though I knew those kitties were going to find a home with you. Greetings from Australia! I've been following your videos and on etsy for a while now, and a couple of weeks ago, I scored a couple of rare finds myself! My unit was built in 1980, but I am most passionate about the 1960s. I sourced some 12 oz Pyrex Snowflake Garland glasses on eBay - the pattern is an exact match to my Pyrex collection, which dates from the early 1970s. I also bought a fabulous 1960s Biba coat, which I bought on sale on etsy, using my Klarna, saving me about $155AUD! It's my first ever vintage item of Biba and I look forward to wearing it this winter!
Oh how these finds take me back to my childhood! I’m still entranced with the 1950’s dress shapes because I loved the stylized illustrations of “perfect home life” in all the school workbooks and advertisements of my youth. And yes, we had those aluminum ice cube trays, and they were hateful. Ha ha! I was so excited when the plastic ones that you just twist came out because they were SO much easier. I’m guessing we filled them too full.

I think vintage curtains might be the number 1 hardest thing to find. I've been to probably 20 antique malls and antique shows over the past 3 months and haven't seen a single curtain in any of them. Even on ebay you can't always find a full set of them

I was editor-in-chief of that book (you'll find my name in the early pages), and had ENORMOUS fun outlining it, selecting 1500 images (with my editor), and writing the running timeline and any text relating to films, TV, fashion, automobiles, books and magazines, teen culture, art, (from Pollock to paint-by-numbers), music, pinups, and so forth. I usually get my vintage curtains at thrift stores. Some I shipped to the states when my mother passed away.

Thanks! The bricks aren’t painted. They’re just as-is. Mantle is a honey colored wood. I see how it could look gold.
