The "Geneva Mystery" is a favorite in this series . The plot kept me hanging on for "just one more chapter" - until the finish, and the characters, thankfully, survived their near death attacks. That's much better ! With my "pot O hot Elderberry tea, amply stirred with raw honey , all cozy on the chaise and wrapped in my reliable old down comforter, life is good. During these very stressful days, a respite from reality is most welcome. 2/17/22 Thank you !

I just discovered this series and love it. The shows are very well done. I do find the frequent ads irksome but continue to listen to listen because I do enjoy the shows.
You can try the ones under BBC for no ads. SOme of the posters edit it so there are no ads to listen to. The ones I go to never have ads, just a brief into into part 5, 6, etc.
I agree with you Sarah:) about the music, its fabulous:) If you have an ad blocker running you won't have any problems with ads popping up during the recordings. They are good quality mono recordings too:) very little pitch sway and the levels are generally very even.

Agreed. The ads inbthus are insane. I don't pay for TH-camcto hear ads. I went to another version if the sane show. Just look atctge times. A full half hour plus longer with the ads.
I'm in Oz. I haven't listened to this one yet, but I listened to the 1957 Paul Temple 8 episode story - and I don't recall one advert. If you have one of those, is it VPN's? maybe you could try setting it to Australia with the Paul Temple stories?

I kinda feel like these stories are all the same with different characters. They hear about some bad guy doing bad stuff. They start trying to track him down through whitnesses. Whitness gets killed. Then they face an assassination attempt.

RE: So many complaints about "ads" in these comments. What folk are hearing are not ads but incessant chatter from BBC Radio 4 Extra presenters about forthcoming programmes and general banter. This entire posting is the very badly edited together set of 6 weekly episodes from the radio station. Why oh why have you ruined a fantastic piece of classic crime drama by including all this rubbish without thought to editing it out using even a simple piece of easy to use freeware like AUDACITY?! The actual radio show has around 6 periods of up to 15 seconds silence in each of the 6 episodes together with a hell of a lot of presenter chat and a weird backwards playing thing at its tail end. Using AUDACITY I have narrowed those silent spaces, removed the presenter stuff and even some unnecessarily lengthy periods of continuity music that serves little purpose. And yes as one observer commented I have removed the backwards playing nonsense at the end! Regardless, thank you for posting what remains a popular crime series of yesteryear but please give some thought to cleaning it up before posting, this one was awful to listen to. Cheers
