    I have a P with 37,000 rounds through it with zero major failures of parts. I have had to change the main spring several times (they wear out). I can typically go 1,000 to 1,200 rounds between cleanings. It is a fantastic pistol

    • @ILruffian
      @ILruffian 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Good stuff. Does that go for the mags as well? The concept of expensive mags that require cleaning if you drop them on grass/dirt is the one thing that has kept me away from the 2011.

      @@ILruffian I actually have not had to replace a single mag. I have 6 or 7 17 round and about the same number of 20 round. In terms of maintaining them, they are stainless steel so no rust and the butt plate just slides off (much easier then Glock for example).

    I have a C2 and during my first initial break in with Aguila 115gr target ammo I had 3/300 failure to fire. Tried to mix with other ammob (Fiochi) in mag and exact same 3 rounds failed to fire. I've used other brands from Hornady, CCi Blazers, Sigs, and Winchester ranging from 115g, 125+P, 135+P, and 147 with no issues since. I have about 2200 rounds. Lubed it at 500 intervals and cleanded every 1000. Side note, gave the 3 rounds to the range master with a Glock 19. He tested the 3 rounds and fired all with no issues. I was impressed with Glock and Im not a Glock fan. Conclusion: yes, first couple of mags is break-in and now that I have seen your video it strenghten the need to break in at least 300 rounds. prepping for the 79 IPSC world shoot in S Africa, I lived in a tent on a pasture-range and shot 24,000 rds of my cast bullet .45 ACP reloads. that was done with a Star progressive loader, and 3000 rds of WCC72 Winchester military brass, Bullseye powder, Lyman #2 alloy for the bullets, Hensley and Gibbs 3 cavity molds., Alcan large pistol primers, 50/50 alox and beeswax lubricant. I used a modified version of Bruce Nelsons's cross draw rig, made for me by Bob Arganbright,
    In 6 weeks, that ammo was all gone and the brass was down to sub 1000 cases, all of them bulged from so many trips thru the carbide sizer die. I never had a malfunction that I could blame on the Series 70 MkIV colt govt model. I had a few rds where the powder bridged over in the powder measure, cause I had no weight on it.
    I cracked the frame a tiny bit near the slide stop slot. I broke the collet bushing, cracked the firing pin stop, broke the tip off of the extractor, had a couple of GI mags fall-apart. but the gun kept running. I used the 200 gr swc over 4.5 grs of bullseye before Hercules, adulterated that powder to make you use more of it. Averaging 600 rds per day, some days firing as much as 1500 rds, all of it aimed, and very little of it really fast firing. It was all done on stages of fire that we shot in Africa. I was too broke and upset over a woman to do worth a crap at the world shoot, but in practice, I could do anything, man. Toss up two soda cans, draw and hit them both, all sorts of stuff.

      @theccwdad half my career as a Navy SEAL, we ran with the glock 19, and that had multiple malfunctions bc of their triggers. I had zero malfunctions with our sigs, but the powers that be gave the nsw contract to glock anyways. My department does issue us the glock 45 but bc I don't have confidence, I'm definitely sidelining it. I do like that Staccato, but yes I don't think it'll suit bc of some issues to include what you pointed out. It's gonna be the MR920P for me.

      All staccato mags. 1 mag had two fail to locks, the other fail to locks where a separate mags. No ammo had any specific issues. Overall, the malfunctions where not a concern. In 3000 rounds you'd have the same or more problems in a striker fired gun like a Glock.
