- Whilst in Texas, I took the opportunity to visit one of the most famous gun stores in the world - Gordy & Sons.
Firstly, I was wrong - it's not just a gun store - it's a proper outfitters, with anything you could need for more or less any trip around the world.
Secondly - this could be the best gun room in the world!

Couple of important notes:
1 - Gordys were happy for me to go in gloveless, as all of these guns are sold as users!
2 - the store stocks a great array of oil and cloths for sale that were tested on these guns after filming!
Must say I was wondering - considering the Gordy's staff member was wearing the white cottons.
I was about to comment but I was smart enough to read first lol. Great video. Those are pieces of art.
even tho you're gloveless, it bothers me you pickup the rifles by the barrel and not the forend of the stock.
equivalent of dropping the hammer on an unchambered round - won't do anything, it's just courtesy.

@@douglasherron7534 The same happens when shopping for fine watches. The staff always handle the watches with gloves and let me greasy mitts go bare. I do try to keep my hands clean, and off where I could leave prints. That said it does feel odd sometimes.
This is my local shop. The inventory is amazing but what really sets them apart is the customer service. They are the most welcoming and friendly outfitter I’ve ever dealt with. Other places act like they’re doing you a favor to get a gun off the rack. These guys will fill the counter with everything that matches your parameters so you can handle them back to back, answer all of your questions in detail, and they’re happy to do it. They’ve got a life-long customer.
That service and attitude was very evident. Great guys

I live here in Houston and have a gun that my grandfather bought used in high school in the 60's. He gave it to me 30 years ago and now I want to give it to my son for his 18th birthday. It still shoots but it needs a complete rebuild. I will be hitting them up. Thanks for your input on this business.
Only gun shop I’ve ever walked in and been asked if I’d like any refreshments.
When I went a few years ago I was looking for shooting glasses and didn’t even know what I was walking into other than that they came up with a Google search as one of the stores that carried shooting glasses.I was blown away by their store even the exterior is very stately looking.
As I was takin a walk around the store I saw that they had original Henry and Winchester lever action rifles just sitting out on the floor in gun racks for you to pick up. when you check the tag, 20k-60k. “Yeah, just gonna gingerly put that back in the rack”.
They have great customer service, and even let my girlfriend and I into the gun vault to look around.
It's incredible when passion and customer service meet to make an amazing place to go. This shop looks amazing

Gordy's has committed themselves to excellence. Hats off to them, especially in this the day and age of cheap and cheaper… Thank God there are still people left that appreciate the finer things - even if most of us can't afford them, it's still nice to see great stuff!
Very well done JC and team! A most enjoyable tour of an amazing place. Such dedication to the art of gun making and shooting with a dedicated well experienced staff who know their onions and are officiants of their trades and it is good to see 'Trades' being kept alive. Nice one indeed!
When they were talking about the problems run into by drying wood stocks in salt . Reminds me of a book I read by a guy whose family had been stock makers since 1700s . He said they had a warehouse full of wood . Every generation replaced what they used for their grandchildren to use . The wood they made their gunstocks from had been drying for two generations
This is brilliant, that bit at 11:24 reminds me of the FT Lauderdale boat show. All the European manufacturers were very hesitant to let me look at the boats.
However, the Hatteras salesmen were all from the south and it was all smiles from them a lot of “come on in man, have a beer, take all the pictures you want” some day when I can afford my own boat, they’ll be the first manufacturer I call!
Retired U.S. Military . Have been in shops like this before and they were all in old Europe. Did not know this place was on the map. Now that said. Going to visit them soon. Great Video over the top collections.

I love Gordys, bought my Blaser from them last year including personal tour of the vault! I buy a lot of fly fishing stuff from those guys, the customer service is top notch. They also have a pretty good sale about this time every year.
The people who work here are so nice and welcoming everytime ! I love shopping here !

Man, they are some great looking guns, I'd never be allowed in. The engravings are gorgeous but it's the wood that really gets me
I've been here many many times. Selection is amazing but customer service is incredible! One of the most remarkable gun shops in the entire nation.

As a young man, my Father asked me to look around for a Parker, LC Smith, Remington, and a Winchester model 21. Among all my shooting buddies, only one produced an LC Smith. It was badly beaten so I did not acquire it. Decades later, I learned that it could be restored by my Father's gunsmiths friend. Unfortunately, the owner passed away and no one knows the whereabouts of the gun. Another great video Sir !

I lived in Canada for a while and thought the Bass Pro Shop win Toronto was an Aladdins cave of hunting and fishing, I have just been corrected. That vault is a dream come to life ; even if you cannot touch you would be close to guns you have only dreamed about seeing close up!

This was a fantastic video. Many of the shotguns were a bit pricy for the average shooter but boy can we dream, lol. I'd really like to invest in a classic side by side to pass along as a family heirloom. Thanks for the inside look. Best wishes.
I am in North Idaho and didn't know about Gordy and Sons, that was impressive. Thought i would have to go to the UK to get wonderful service.

That vault probably holds what could be seen as the pinnacle of gunsmithing. The skill required to produce just one of those firearms, wow.
I can't imagine what the initial investment was to open this store.

The craftsmanship of the guns in the vault is amazing. That being said, for $100k+ it better shoot lasers or turn back time. I can probably buy a tank for less than that.

Great video as usual. I only have one arm. I handled a Kofs 20 at our local shop in Mississippi. It was the best fitting gun I had ever handled since I lost my left arm 30 years ago. They opened the last box they had and it looks like a $5000 Fiddleback stock. I got super lucky. I'm now so interested in O/U, I watch all of your films.👍

My favorite place in Houston. Also right across the street is some of the best BBQ in Tx. Did you make it by Brileys? They are about 20min from Gordy & Sons

That we were aware of, but a rain storm added an extra 2 hours to the journey there, so that planned trip will have to wait for next time!
I’ve been in some private collections that make this look like a Walmart display. Millions of dollars, per rack.

Ahhhh ain’t you lovin some Murica lads….. what you may not know is Gordys and shops like it get their inventory from large private collectors….plenty of them right there in the Lone Star. Imagine the dedication and wealth required to put together a collection worthy of GnS.
I went there looking for a Krieghoff k80. They were not helpful at all. The gentleman behind the counter did not want yo get off his stool. I went to another dealer and made the purchase.
