It ranges based on driver experience. Typically for us $4-5 a mile. Sometimes even more, but I am really picky. You can get drivers cheaper than that probably.
Hello! I like the videos you make, I am also a beekeeper in Hungary, but the situation here is very bad, I don't know, do you have similar honey prices?
I enjoy watching your videos mainly I guess because I miss my commercial beekeeping. I am now back to a hobbyist working towards a side liner which is as far as I plan going this time around. I like and don't like the way you stay on top of swarming. I like it because you don't lose very many bees to swarms. I don't like it for the same reason. A few years ago I set swarm traps all over this area. I set a bunch near some of your years along U.S. 90 and I did not get even one swarm from your bees. :( Thank goodness every beekeeper is not on top of it like you are I caught a good number of swarms from other beekeepers' yards. I too, do my best to stay on top of my swarming. Not that easy to do from a wheelchair. I am working on an Italian race of VSH Cordovan bees.
What lights do you guys have on the Hummerbee forklift, I need some and can't find decent ones anywhere. Also, is that semi yours because I'm interested in the lights under the doors, if you could please let me know what they are, that'd be great! Nice vid btw!
The truck is a contracted truck so I have no idea. Here are the links to what I bought! Cheap lights. I’ve tried expensive ones and they just get broken no matter what. a.co/d/cgUjRJt a.co/d/6tUSG89
@@beekeeperjakeAlso, what kind of bee suits do you use, been looking to switch mine out, too thin. And did you ever think about strapping each colony down to the pallet?
Welcome back.
Glad to see a new video from ya 😊
How much does it cost to hire a semi to transport a load of bees to the almonds?
It ranges based on driver experience. Typically for us $4-5 a mile. Sometimes even more, but I am really picky. You can get drivers cheaper than that probably.
Are you centralizing all your yards in one location for shipping?
Yes, we have a few yards that can handle semis that we bring everything in to stage.
Outstanding. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Do yall not put honey supers on your migratory colonies?
Not for almonds
Good to see you back. Are your hives closed or are bees free to fly?
They’re open. If we load during the day it’s either too cold for them to fly or raining. We usually will load at night so they don’t fly.
if a guy were to give you 400 hives before winter, could he get 400 back and you keep the pollination money?
You might get 400 hives but 200 will be empty
That’s a new one for me 🤣 you might find someone to do that but only 60-70% of that 400 will make grade.
@@beekeeperjake copy that.

Wholesale honey prices are definitely in the toilet here in the USA
