When I got my ferret I was young and naive and completely unprepared. My parents told me I could have one if I bought it myself knowing I couldn't afford the baby ferret at the pet store. When I found one for free with all of his supplies included their immediate thought was that they had made a horrible mistake. Luckily the ferret we brought home was the sweetest boy, fully trained, and able to win over my parents hearts before the bag of food and litter he came with ran out.
Thank you for the video. Sadly, my little guy passed away on February 26th, 2024... he was almost 8 years.... nice to see ppl out there still putting more up-to-date content as I will eventually be getting new ferrets and want the best information available ❤
These videos are amazing:) I love how educational they are and always make me smile .I can not stop watching these videos I am obsessed with ferrets! I will hopefully be helping out at a local ferret shelter! Thank you😊
I really want to say thank you so much, I just recently got a baby ferret. Thanks to your videos, even though I consulted my friend who has two adult ferrets for advice, your videos helped me to build a strong bond between me and my baby quickly. He was anxious when he got home cuz he was the smallest in the cage with other ferrets who were bigger than him in the pet store, he rarely played or interacted with me at first and he bit a lot. But these behaviors were all fixed in two weeks. One thing I would add on what you said is, besides doing research in many ways, the owner actually needs to spend a lot of time with your ferret, bc each ferret has his or her own personality, and the experience from other pet owners may not work all the time. And they grow so fast in front of your eyes, every moment is so cherish. Please spend more time with them as long as you can.❤
im on my dads laptop i am 14 years old and i have been wanting a ferret for 7 years now and this janaray im getting one for these 7 years i have been so much research on ferrets and you helped so much thank you for that and now that ik so much about ferrets i can get one i just wanted to say thank you
Hi Haley, are you ever going to do a video on how you built your ferret tunnel wall? I really really love it and want to know how I can make one of these too. Thank you for bringing us these wonderful videos!🥰
I really wish I could have a ferret. :( They have been my most favorite animal since I was a child. All because of the movie The Beastmaster. Even my uncle had pair back in the 90s when he lived in Nevada. But sadly, I still live here in California. And they're still illegal to own. :(
Shit I’m still getting mine this year and still live in the state California the regulations on them is stupid there’s no real reason why there not allowed here
If the ferret is kibble-fed they should have access to their food 24/7. Even raw the food is usually be accessible to them 24/7. Love your videos and am so happy you’re making them again. 🤗
I LOVE YOU SO MUCH THERES NO WORDS TO EXPLAIN IT. YOU ARE HELPING ME LEARNING ALOT ABOUT FERRETS (a lot of other people have also helped me) BUT U MAKE IT SO MUCH EASIER
Hi new ferret owner here and she is the sweetest baby I have ever had the pleasure of caring for, I am listening to most of your content in regards to advice, it was a spur of the moment decision and I haven't had a hard time at all, I have a lot of free time on my hands and I use my spare room as her cage for bed times and play times for when I'm not around or am around the house with other things. Her cage is almost constantly open I only close it for the few hours I sleep but my and her schedule are so in sync it works out, I just want to say thank you for all the awesome advice, I love my new baby and will enjoy the next few, hopefully more, years .😊
I'm planning on getting another ferret for my little boy, and I want to see if I could improve or do things better than I did the first time. This video helped a lot!
I can thank you from the bottom of my heart, your vids have shown me how to deal with the ferret I found.. Now after 6 months with him,, we are best friends, I love him and walk him 1 ish mile a day... He loves it, stopped him biting as well.
getting two ferrets with in the next 2 months im so excited and have done non stop research ur videos are so helpful and im currently binge watching ur videos
Thanks for the video! I wish it were mandatory for people to go through an extensive training overtime to be able to take a ferret home. Maybe in a perfect world *sighhhh* well at least more and more information on this will be at our fingertips
Thank you for this video, it was very informative and educational. I think most people, like myself when I first got a ferret, don't realize how much time and commitment these animals need. They aren't the kind of pet that can be kept in a cage for long, they need a lot of stimulation and interaction.
"There's a lot of work that goes into carrots." FINALLY SOMEONE SAID IT! Everybody loves those cute little orange baby carrots, but have you seen how BIG they can grow?!? Not to mention that they come in all colours, shapes & sizes. And the amount of "hair" can be enormous. A carrot is not just for Christmas people.
Do you have any idea where the critter/ferret nation pieces can be bought? No one seems to have just pieces. I have a double ferret nation and was able to buy a single critter nation. But to connect them I need the tray/floor section with the hole in it. I love these cages.❤
End of life care is where it hits the pocket. I had to let my one ferret cross the bridge in August. He had multiple issues but I lost him due to heart and adrenal failure. He got to a point I couldn’t do the implant because of his heart. We were doing the lupron shots every month and then it started to creep down to every three weeks. The shots were $80 a shot. He seen the vet every two weeks and it came down to him having 3 seizures in one night. It was time. Now his partner Daisy has heart problems. Right now it’s two medications and she’s doing ok. March scares me because she needs the implant. Probably can’t do it so will be on the shots. I have two 2 yr old ferrets as well. That’s a hell of a story on how I got babies. My elder ferrets were adopted. I am blessed with every day I have with them. Since I won’t have grandkids and hubs don’t want more kids ferrets fit the role lol. Yes, they are my babies and they get tons of attention lol. It really filled the baby void lol. ❤
I have my ferrets out rn while watching this o watch a vid from yall wich is "how to bond with your ferrets" and I saw how you take your ferrets around the house I have 3 ferrets and 2 rough dogs so I can't take them around the house but I can take them around the room and the taking a nap with them worked they went under the blanket and snuggled up with me ty for all this information about ferrets your the best I will be sure to subscribe.
I have made more than a few of these mistakes when getting my first ferret. Part of me wishes I saw this video and the other part makes me glad I didn’t as they have been such an enrichment to the family.
Recently got custody of my 4yr old ferret! Hoping revisiting this channel will explain if his lack of play is from me forgetting something (he has a vet appointment to also get checked up and working on getting him a new buddy)
hi where did you get the clear with light blue tunnels I am obsessed with seeing them in your background and would love to know how you made it happen and where you got it from!
They made them. It's their prototype, and many of us are waiting for them to release them to be sold to ferret owners. They said this 3 or 4 years ago. Hopefully, super soon.
what if I just work a part time job and no school is that alright as an owner? I mean I’d have enough money to supply for them and my self since I thankfully still live with my parents im only 18, Im thinking about adopting two in a few months because I juts want to save them instead of getting a young one and let them live a good life you know:(.
I havé à couple of questions ! If someone dosent mind answering :> I’ve been looking into ferrets for over 4/5 years and I was promised two ferrets but never got them . I’m getting back into research but I have lots of notes and videos saved I’ve watched so it’s not like I’m new new to ferret care . I’m thinking about maybe getting two ferrets when I finally havé own appartement in September. Here are my questions 1- I will be a student and working part time but I’m not a very outdoors person and I often stay at home , so would it still be optimal for me to have ferrets ? I’m thinking of adopting two older ferrets so that they have a bit more experience being by themselves for a period of time. 2- Should I make a designated room for smoking ? As although I wouldn’t directly smoke next to my ferrets I’m worried that maybe even some smoke might affect them so I want to know for sure :) 3- would it be fine to take my ferrets out on walks to the park and in general outside ? I would make sure they are vaccinated and healthy of course . That’s all I just wanted some tips from someone here
Definitely get two, good idea on older ferrets. Don’t smoke around them. And yes, they can go on walks. Make sure they won’t wiggle out of their harness.
I absolutely LOVE your vids!! Could you possibly do one about how to prevent fleas and ticks? I'm going to get a ferret soon and I've been trying to learn how to help them have the best life. I keep searching about what to do if my ferret gets ticks or fleas, but I haven't really found anything I 100% trust
You can use kitten flea treatment on them. One of my ferrets came from a neglectful home and was covered in fleas. We bathed him in dawn and used the flea treatment, and he has been without fleas since.
I have 2 make ferrets and they have their own play room, inside the room they have a double cage which is very tall and one of them keeps consistently climbing it then pooping on top of it. How do i get him to stop? Im concerned he is going to jump or fall and its also a hassle to clean if he does go to the bathroom on the top. what can i do to prevent this?
Very informative. I was wondering if you have a recommendation for a UK ferret youtuber or something. As some of the food and toys and stuff don't have uk supplies. We're quite boring over here 😂
Many points here are valid....... but possibly just for an American audience. I live in Ireland and have kept ferrets for many, many years I I cannot comprehend the constant emphasis on vet bills. My (4 atm, up to 20 on occasion)ferrets are kept in a large outdoor enclosure and fed primarily on a diet of high protein kibble and raw (venison + whole rabbit) and I’ve never had to bring them to the vet. I’ve lost 1 5y/o old rescue female to uterine cancer in the last 5 years. Why so many health problems in the US ferrets?
Hi 🙂 I would like yo know where you took the tube on your wall 🙂 i want to do this for my Fuuu but i can't find anything.I am from Québec,Canada and theres is nothing for them...i am always directed on Amazone so i dont know if the product is good.I almost wish you took them there so i would know it good hehehe Thanks in advance for the help.. ❤
I have a question regarding the air conditioning: Can ferrets get medical issues from the constantly moving cooler air a air conditioning unit blows out? I know that many people have issues with that and so I wonder if ferrets also can react badly to it. Also what are your opinions about outdoor enclosures for them? Many ferret owners in my country (Austria) keep their ferrets semi-outdoors (so in a big outdoor cage with a insulated box or little shed) and I wonder if that’s beneficial to their health or if it might cause harm. I won’t be getting a ferret for a few years as I‘m still at university and in a rather small apartment with a tight budget, but I still want to gather as much knowledge so I‘m as prepared as possible once I am in a situation where I can keep a ferret.
Hi I'm a ferrets owner for the last 20 years, one of the ferrets worries is they has no bones so we has to make sure there's no tiny wholes any where in the house, they can squeeze themselves in any tiny whole
I have ferrets and I have tried doing ferret food but they won't eat it and meats and stuff but they will only eat cat food cuzz the person I got them from fed them cat food is it ok??
Where would you rank Orijen Originals Cat food for Ferrets. My ferret who was recently sick stopped eating his kibble. It was trash food anyways, Im working on getting my other ferret off it(Zupreem to Oxbow) however the sick guy just went nuts for my Mon's cat food. If let out he would spend hours trying to find out how to get up on the shelves to get at the food so we got him Orijens Original Cat food which has all animal protiens as well as 40% protien, 20% fat and 3% Fibre. The Cat food seems superior to all Ferret foods out there but I could be missing something.
also wouldn’t it be prudent to have two ferrets that are not spayed or neutered that way the female can reproduce and not have the risk of deseases as they would if being spayed and / (they’re partner being neutered) so if both mates are not neutered or spayed they will in theory have a far FAR lower risk of desease and ultimately death?. Not only that you’d have little weasel ferret puppies that would be adorable and potentially you could sell them and make money for the original ferrets depending on how much they reproduce??
I REALLY want to get some ferrets, but I'm too poor and my house is not ever ferret proofed. I'd like to get four and name them Parsley, Sage, Rosemary, and Thyme (so the four would collectively be known as the Scarborough Fair), two males and two females. Love you videos! I share them with my friend whom is a new ferret owner.
Hey, I've been following you guys since I got my ferrets nearly 7 years ago! I still watch your videos and learn so much from them, so thank you so much for helping me take proper care of my babies! I would really love to see a video on how to let your ferrets play outside safely especially if you are one person with 2 ferrets, I have harnesses for them but they can slip out if they try hard enough, I like to take them to the beach or the woods so they can explore and have fun but they run in opposite directions and I'm always afraid one will get away and I will lose them. Any advice would be appreciated.
Is she 11 an ok age to get a ferret? I don't have enough money for a cage could I just get a border cage thingy that has a tube in it to a big dark box?
Hi! I would like to know what brand of food you get for your ferrets and what brand of shampoo you get for your ferrets. I'm trying to be a ferret owner but I need to be prepared first so I've been watching your channeling and researching a lot of things like toys, harnesses, collars, hammocks, and tubes. And do you have any recommendations of cages for ferrets? Also I really look up to you and I think ferrets are amazing! I've wanted one ever since I was like 6 or 7 years old. And do you think it's better for me to only get 1 ferret or 2 so the won't be alone and the will be more social?
Do not use shampoos of any type as they strip the natural oils from the ferrets' skin and fur that they desperately need. Bathe twice a year with oats in a sock. Soak each ferret with a fresh sock for each one for 20 minutes in warm, shallow water. Once in spring and once in fall. The oat bath soothes and nourishes their skin and is completely safe.
Either the Double Critter Nation Cage or the Double Ferret Nation Cage are the best ferret cages and extremely easy to clean. I'm saying double as ferrets need a lot of room to move in. Figure 8 harnesses are the best ones for ferrets as they're comfortable because they dont dig into their skin and make them lose their fur and not heavy on their little bodies.
It is amazing how little most people know about Ferrets. All of the emergency vet visits are because people refuse to understand that if you are not watching them, they need to be in a large enclosure with plenty of space, toys, etc.. and hopefully another Ferret. They need to be kept in neutered pairs, or groups of up to 4. They have been domesticated for 3000 years. And they can eat high grade dry or canned Ferret food. Humans eat dried and canned food all the time and we thrive. Don't overthink things.
Any advice on how to introduce my ferrets to my cats. They have their own room and it’s a big room that’s fully just for them. I really only have a sleeping bag in there to sleep besides their toys and sleeping areas and just things ferrets need and I’m in there every day but I really want them to have more room and more playmates. I’m just a really anxious person and I know animals can pick up on their owners vibes and I don’t want my anxiousness to cause a fight. Plus I rescued a cat so she is used to hunting and I’m worried she gonna hurt them. Any advice is great and really appreciated. I love my babies and want them happy and I think they would be happy with more playmates and so would the cats
From what I've heard, you can usually tell how they will act with each other by introducing them while the ferret is still in its cage. But I'd always keep a close eye on them. Animals can be very unpredictable.
Just handle your ferrets a lot every day. Carry them, hold them, and cuddle them. You can bring each ferret out of their cage when they're sleeping or pick them up from wherever they're sleeping at and hold them for as long as they let you. They will start to get used to you holding them and even sleeping with you. You can also bond like she said in the video by having them eat at the same time as you. You can close yourself and your ferret or ferrets in a room for a night and sleep on the floor with a comforter or a blanket and take every comfy thing out of that room as they will see that you're the only comfy thing in there and they will be forced to snuggle with you to sleep. Lots of playtime every day deepens and strengthens the bond and cuddle time.
Love your videos but after all the sourcing I cannot find any info for your tube wall in the background and the pricing. Do you have any info you could provide? I have four furrockets and they love vertical space.
I have a ferret he’ll be three December 21 of this year and he has a flea problem pretty bad I’m having a hard time finding a vet for him and the right flea medicine to help him other than that and his hair is very wiry and coarse when it used to be long and fluffy I went to a school called Penta Career Center for two years, veterinary, assistant and grooming, and we had six ferrets in our lab that we were taught how to clean up after her and take care of. I just obviously can’t get him the vet care assistance that he needs. I live in Parrysburg Ohio if anyone knows of a good exotic vet around me or can help me look one up, let me know
Everything in this video seems to be common sense with a ferret I'm new and I already did all this that she is talking about its called research before getting one but even then most of it should be common sense if you are someone with brains...
I'm a ferret owner that loves my two ferrets. But they're still ferrets, they're not little gods. Humans can make mistakes and you don't have to learn every little thing. Get them if your interested in them. don't neglect them and you will be fine. Remember this person dedicates their whole life to ferrets, you don't need to build or learn that much, their animals. Your natural human instincts are more than enough to take care of an animal

We adopted an old, abandoned ferret. Best decision ever for us!

Thank you sooo much you deserve millions of subscibers and your videos are soooo important and well done! Once again thank you so much!!!

Not only that you’d have little weasel ferret puppies that would be adorable and potentially you could sell them and make money for the original ferrets depending on how much they reproduce??
i have a cat rn so i dont think i can get one but its nice watching videos so if i ever do get a ferret ill be better at taking care of em
Also the cage we saw, it doesn't have enough space its tall and stuff but not large they need a lot of space.
Any thing on working your ferrets?
Im at school for 6 hours. Do you think i should get a ferret?
In the ferret video my favorite was the wrong supplies
Please make a video about training ferrets to sleep in people's arms
HIIII❤️❤️
hi there!
My ferret has runny poos is that ok
I havnt been in here..is everyone doing good?:D no cordomas and newtan is fine?❤
I live in Parrysburg Ohio if anyone knows of a good exotic vet around me or can help me look one up, let me know
i am getting a ferret tomorrow . date:aug 9th 2024. I am going to get him the tenth
I hear buying a ferret from a pet store has a shorter life span than one from a private breeder or adoption shelter
The vet bills sound the same as with any animal really
Everything in this video seems to be common sense with a ferret I'm new and I already did all this that she is talking about its called research before getting one but even then most of it should be common sense if you are someone with brains...

I'm a ferret owner that loves my two ferrets. But they're still ferrets, they're not little gods. Humans can make mistakes and you don't have to learn every little thing. Get them if your interested in them. don't neglect them and you will be fine. Remember this person dedicates their whole life to ferrets, you don't need to build or learn that much, their animals. Your natural human instincts are more than enough to take care of an animal
Wow, very very beautiful...........as are the ferrets! 😉🤍
