Wolves Chomping on Ice!

When the weather heats up in Massachusetts, we supply our wolves with resources to cool down including fresh cold water, plenty of coverings and shade, and we will close to visitors for the day if temperatures are too high!
One fun low key enrichment activity that the wolves enjoy in hot weather is chomping away at ice! Watch as the pack navigates sharing one particular ice block. Vilkas and Togo (brothers) are the two trying to pick up the entire block at once!
Akela, Qantaqa, Skadi, Vilkas and Togo are gray wolves who live at Wolf Hollow. They are captive born ambassador wolves, teaching the public about wolves, wolf conservation and their importance in the wild.
Important: This is not the wolves only source of water, they have multiple drinking water sources, as well as a pond in their enclosure to wade in! This tub is simply a fun spot to cool off, and this activity is a form of enrichment for the wolves.
