- From spring through summer and into fall, enjoy the variety of wildlife that pass by this single camera location in the Yukon wilderness from 2021. Highlights include both grizzly and black bears showing interest in a scent marking tree, a pair of lynx at night, a few big bull moose in fall, several wolf visits, and a wolverine among a few other species.

It got no cougar, bison, or eagle unfortunately but those may be residing in some different parts

@@turkey4802 Grizzly bears and brown bears are the same species but grizzly bears are currently considered to be a separate subspecies. And there was one or two black bears in there as well 😉🙂

@@boblablaws4903 Ive seen some pretty big ones up north in Alberta but that one was the size of an average grizzly.

@@kaileehamilton836 the most adorable part is how little the babies are. I saw a mom and baby in baxter state park many years ago. I didn't realize the danger I was in but thankfully I was on a pretty large rock albeit maybe 15-20 feet away at one point. Mother didn't seem to care. And she was huge. Can't imagine what a bull would look like in person.

Modern moose are actually one of the largest of the moose species to exist, not many were larger in history, including during the iceage

That tree is like social media for bears, no doubt. Animals learn everything they need to know about each other through scent.
funny enough humans have an average ability to smell stuff, we just dont use it nowadays, but people more intune with nature use smell all the time. the trick is the experience to know what each smell means.

Unusual to see more predator than prey species in one area. Glad to get a front end shot of the lynx finally. Was getting tired of just his back end:) Cool to see the wolverine. Funny how the bears of both species will choose a specific tree to do their marking, scratching, and scent marking.

Bears arent really a traditional predator species.
The vast majority of their diet is plants, like 90+% in many areas.

Nice video. That scratching tree gets a lot of action. The racks on the bull moose(s) were incredible. I can tell the difference between a lynx and a bobcat, AND you had a wolverine. Wolves, coyotes, black bears, grizzly bears, porcupine, owl, bull and cow moose. That game trail is Grand Central Station of the Yukon. The rabbits and squirrels must smell all the predators and take a pass on traveling that highway.
I wish we had gotten a better look at one of the black bear's chest, it looked like he had a white heart on his chest.

Yes great comment this was grand central station for all of the predators, gorgeous animals but yes the squirrels and deers know this is a bear, wolverine trail the big moose can defend it self but not a small deer.

Now, that’s the definition of a game trail. Not sure how often you checked on the camera, but the wolves, in particular, were very aware of your scent. Fascinating.

We live in the Chugach foothills of Anchorage, and have seen all of those critters walking through our property, to a lake across the road. Alaskans are lucky that way!

I had the same thought.
I grew up around moose. This is one of the best videos I have seen to show people just how massive they are. Me and my brother used to piss them off for fun because we were young and dumb. Amazingly we survived. Such an amazing animal. They do not look graceful at all....they move through the forest in ways that is mind boggling. This is literally the best video I have seen that displays it.
I live in northern Minnesota and I've all these critters over the years except the grizzly. I enjoyed this a bunch. Thanks!

My grandparents lived in Ft. Yukon in the late forties and early fifties. Grandma was the postmaster and Grandpa ran the Hudson Bay trading post. Grandma let all the hunters and trappers know she would pay top dollar for moose liver. She was English. Liked all that offal. Great video. Thanks.

Good Lord. May I never run across bears of that size without substantial fire power. I decon my cameras, wear exam gloves when placing and I have had bears take them down, elk come up and nuzzle their muzzles to the camera! Great placement and thank you for giving us a peek.

Small white chest markins on Black Bears are common, however of hundreds of BBs that I've seen professionally coast to coast in Canada, I've never seen one nearly that large and prominent!

Me too this is a very well used trail by larger animals, deers clearly avoid it too many lynx, wolverines on this trail for their liking.

A well traveled path through the woods is a busy one, and the wildlife don’t seem to steer away from its worn ground. The standing tree gets a lot of attention with the beautiful bears using it as a back scratcher.
