Actually, going back to Istiana or Arzagos doesn’t lock you into a choice; they’re only there to explain your choices to you. You can go back to both, hear their explanations, then take your time to make a choice.
My headcanon about Unthery is that he did so well in the Battle of Pendraic that he was raised to noble rank and allowed to marry Baroness Calatild. She's the leader of that clan, so I always figured they have a morganatic marriage.
also the campaign messes up everything becase now instead of fighting one kingdom you have to fight 3 also its so annoying when you wanna join as a vassal and now you get the strongest kingdoms against you

Off topic, but, I'd like to say this is such an engaging and diverse game. I am on my 4th or 5th playthrough and rather than grind like hell to build up my character each time, selective use of mods and the cheat console make life much easier and greatly enhance the fun (as I'm sure you all know lol).

I have access to the kingdom tab with a few settlements, clans, and the dragon banner assembled, now I have about 500 days to complete the "Create a non-imperial kingdom" quest by returning to Arzagos to tell him I will support my own kingdom. I hear a lot of complaints about the annoying conspiracy quests (and I have experienced them in previous, incomplete campaigns) and frequent wars creating an issue with stagnant kingdom growth due to micromanaging the conspiracy quests. Ultimately I'm wondering what happens if I let the 500 days pass and the "Create a non-imperial kingdom" quest fail? I think I can get to the point where I have a chance of staying on top of things if I complete that quest as late as I can, but would prefer to just let it lapse and continue with the kingdom I have.
I recommend you take your time for each quest step to build up strength since once you have all 3 parts you are left with 1500 days time to forge your kingdom (in Story mode)

Yeah, it's not a good idea to rush creating your own kingdom. You need to be strong and rich so you can get others to join you. You need millions. Having a big family helps a lot too, as is having several nice towns with good governors, loyalty and militia. Once you have a kingdom, you'll get sabotage missions against you resulting in nonstop wars.
one thing about the dragon banner, if you give it to an existing kingdom and then rebel and form your own, you will still have the banner, which makes no sense
Im having some trouble making a non imperial kingdom in campaign mode and I don't understand why, I abandoned the Western empire and kept Sargot as my fief, but when I go to my governor wich is my characters wife there's no option to start a kingdom. I'm I doing something wrong?
On the PC its the button for "switching weapon usage". You can check your keybinds to see which one it is. Its the same as for choosing whether to use a sword on one or two handed (for those that are both)

Whilst I know how to make Kingdom, I have very different problem. No AI lords will EVER join me. Even if they are bankrupt, and their King and Kingdom has no land. They always say something along "I am happy with my Liege. Neither our relationship nor your purse is deep enough to change that." It's absurd, I got 100 relationship with all since I release them most of the time after battle. I think it's bugged hard in my game. Can't even get to barter screen nor that convincing mini game, they outright fanaticly refuse all the time. The only way I got them to join was with "Annexation" mod, where when they own no land I go to their king and ask him to recognize me as a rightful ruler of that land. And then they join up. Without the mod, it was constant big sounding NO.
I was with vladia and i conquer half of strugia and they give me all of castles and towns. Then i wannted to rebel from them becouse i was low gold from all the army i got. Like 3500 soldiers or more i rebel but getting some other lord to join you is a nightmare. They want like 500 000 gold for joining. I crated 4 clans from my companions but that is not enouth to defend land that big and there goes my save. :D
My problem is the talk to Governor prompt isn’t showing up. I have a fief and two towns and all the troops and everything I need but I can’t talk to the governor
Idk how you survive with all kingdoms wanting to kill you at the same time and you have to pay them a crazy 9000 a day just to be at peace I go bankrupts 😭
I recently watched your video on creating a kingdom. I was wondering how that would work if you're married to your current rulers daughter with children.
Being a mercenary could work to get extra gold and experience but if you want to build relationships to convince nobles to join you later, let them go each time you defeat them. It’ll make it easier to convince them to join you and they will take their lands with them
does mods affect this?? because i have a tear 5 clan, 1 party companion and 4 governors... but still doesn't give me the option to form a kingdom or are you by any chance a mercenary under contract for the Vlandians??
You have to be indepent before you form a kingdom. So try to open your kingdom tab (K by default), and if it doesnt work you should be able to create a kingdom.
So, I've made a kingdom, taken over the majority of the map, and just formed the dragon banner (2 days left). I've gone to Epicrotea to state I'm the owner of the dragon banner, and the next step of the quest is blocked at "Become an independent kingdom". I have no other clans in my kingdom, and no idea how to become independent. Eveything else has a tick, just that final step. Any advice? Or have I broken the quest line by making a kingdom early?
In the game there are multiple factions. The 3 empires (western, southern and northen) and all the rest (battania, vlandia, sturgia, khuzait and aserai). An imperial settlement is a settlement that, at the very start of the game, was owned by an imperial kingdom (which means it has imperial culture). You can see the culture of a fief by hovering over it and seeing what comes after culture. The culture of a kingdom mainly matters for loyalty: if you have a fief of a culture different than your own (the one you chose in the caracther creation screen) you get a -3 loyalty penalty.
You gave your banner to Sturgia. That means you support them, but you dont become the ruler. You basicly just activate the main quest while staying as a vassal
The worst part about the game is you only can recruit people who are small and ugly af i cant understand why there so many normal looking people and the companions are this.. I cant even switch the optic from my brother its soo dumb its all random based

there are some things they need to do in the game especially a divorcement system and a guld system like forming a merchant and a mercenary guild
Divorce would be cool, especially if it introduced a system of nuanced heirs and disinherited children. Perhaps they could become wanderers.
A divorce sistem would be so weird. Its the middle ages, you arent allowed to divorce people. Altough you can kill your wife

I'm a vassal of vlandia and when I talk to my governor there isn't a option. Also I can't push the leave kingdom button.
You have to go talk to the leader of your kingdom, and tell him you want to leave. You can only abdicate your kingdom remotely if you are the leader.

You picked imperial, but is there a benefot for something else?
Doesnt matter to much. Those laws only mean the policies that you have picked at the start, but you can remove and enact new ones right after

Bannelord doesnt have a formal alliance sistem. But you can recruit clans into your kingdom

You have to antagonize the faction first. Attack an army, or raid a village, something like that.
