    I've been playing Bannerlord since the very beginning but earlier this year, I thought I'd have to stop due to degrading health (hands don't work well anymore, wasd movement is a no go now). BUT my friend started a campaign and it really made me want to play again so I'm doing a tactics playthrough. My build is actually really similar to the one in this video and I'm working on my first successful WC. I own almost all of the Aserai lands so far. I love this game, there are sooo many ways to play it.... even when all hope is lost, it still pulls through.

    Just finished a WC myself on v1.1.5 (vanilla) and I had couple points to add:
    1. If you're just going for WC and not caring about solo clan, I feel like joining a kingdom and becoming the leader once the existing one dies is much less headache than doing it solo. you can work on eliminating the ruler while you're conquering everything.
    2. I skipped the lords prison management route and just went in chopping heads in late game. By having a lot of the fiefs yourself, you can access the prisons and chop every noble in there that your clans put in (avoiding the need to catch everyone yourself).
    3. Going full charm on your main while being a vassal will help you get voted for getting the fiefs and make you one of the bigger clans easily.

      In my experience the vacant jobs of the executed Lords are getting filled with random generated Heroes?

    • @freecalradia
      @freecalradia 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      May that version is outdated. It was when i discovered that when you got over negative 100 relationship it, for example relationship to person x is -90 and you execute his relative gains another -40 you ended up with positive 30 relationship. I ended up being +100 bff with every Lord and faction.. at least with everybody that survived the sweeping^^ Not sure if thats still a thing

  • @Seeraphyn
    @Seeraphyn 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +76

    IMO the easiest way to do it is to execute everyone you capture. If you don't need allies/vassals the relationship penalties basically don't matter. Therefore you can put less in scouting and more in medicine for instance, and get a pretty insane bonus to your troops HP. And you'll find that pretty quickly the enemy sends less and less armies as they're running low on nobles.
    Plus, it fits the theme. If you're going to go for world domination why not play as a villain?

It's a bit of a pain in the ass to level Smithing but in the end, it's a rather decent way to print money given the amount of weapons you get access to for defeating big parties & armies.

    Good advice all around but honestly the +50% less speed penalty from forest is a bigger factor than the +1 militia.
    Like you said if they want your fief and you're not near then they're going to get it.

    • @Strat-Guides
      @Strat-Guides  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +9

      For this campaign, I disagree. The vast majority of my time was spent either solo or with a large army which means party speed bonuses were mostly irrelevant. I owned all towns personally, which means the +1 militia helped for defense. And because I wanted to make money, I fired most of the garrison, meaning militia was the only defense and having an extra 100 or more could make a huge difference.
      If you've seen my other videos, you'll know I'm a huge fan of the movement speed bonus! It's just that in this very niche use-case, the militia bonus was significantly more important.

    • @MelvinIsMerlin
      @MelvinIsMerlin 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      @Strat-Guides sorry about deleting my previous comment. I felt I had too rude of a tone.

    A few points: This is a speed run, so certain things are NOT optimized. Fiefs are super powerful and provide a LOT of cash if you develop them.
    Garrisons are not that bad - most towns tend to pay for their own garrison as you build them up. Because this is a speedrun without any fief development, the lack of buildings prevents the fief from making a lot of money in the first place. The size of each town generally determines the income and garrison size, so you can afford to leave garrisons on unlimited.
    That said, your biggest problem will be starvation - fiefs starve EASILY. One village being raided can mean negative prosperity for months in game, especially if your fief was already max-size to begin with. I recommend the "stop starving yourselves" mod (iirc that's what it's called) which adds a negative prosperity modifier (customizable with mod options) until the fief has +X amount of food (default is +10 food). This way your fief's income, garrison, and militia will cap out at a certain point while you're still breaking even.
    I haven't experimented with customizing garrisons, I think it's too much work to level up your troops AND garrison troops while still being safe, but standard garrison recruiting *tends* to be just fine.
    Defending against raids when enemy kingdoms get down to 1-2 fiefs will be your problem since you'll be up against 30=50 parties of 20-80 troops, all of which are vastly faster than your average 500 stack army. Those raids will drain your cities, your income, your garrisons, everything. That's my biggest problem at least.
    Starting Battania is highly recommended as it has 2 of the 4 fiefs in total with 4 villages, and village hearths directly correlate to incoming food for the fief, which means more villages = more hearths = more food = more income. Marunath and Seonon both have 4 villages attached to them (as do Jaculan and Sanala, I believe).
    Each fief tends to be positive until it's fully developed and has a full garrison, at which point it'll balance out income - VILLAGES also give income, so by letting those hearths build up to 600+ some villages have given me +1000 denarii a day, which covers any lack of income from the fief itself, plus some leftover.
    If you use Bannerlord XP Tweaks mod and don't cap your levels, and you get enough steward levels (either on yourself or a companion) you can make wages negative and get paid for fielding a massive army of 500 t5/t6 units.
    TL;DR - Fiefs are manageable, even easier with a mod (that should be in the base game anyways) if you're not speedrunning, and if you get another mod it's super easy to make 20-30k denarii easily without taking over the entire map, just take your time developing them.

    • @pkremel
      @pkremel 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There is mod for Garrisons where you can send recruiters, you specify the garrison composition and they go out and recruit and train soldiers for your composition. And you just copy the same settings on all castles or cities with single click.
      I tried to go for super strong garrison of couple hundred fians and some heavy infantry, but it drains your money QUICK :) So be more realistic if you want to setup your garrison.

    edit: ALSO on the long village battles where they have like 150 guys, what can you do if you run out of arrows? Is it possible to lead the army away, then rush back and scavenge for the militia archers' arrows if you run out or do you usually have enough?

    Gives me an idea for a future playthrough "World conquest" Build a world through different maps and cultures then conquer each map like traversing countries one at a time then carrying that character over by screen shotting their stats, age and looks for the next map or an heir birthed in the previous campaign if the main is to old "Striking out to forge their own kingdom" then adding interesting things to make it different and more difficult each map. The 1st son would be the heir, 2nd son would usually be his right hand so you normally be play the 3rd + son who stats would be lower as he'd be younger. Replays would be based on how many children you have in the previous campaign (send a new force) and what you have in the new campaign. Something like my little warband to keep "My" soldier's unique from the rest of the toops so they really do look like a foreign expeditionary force, challenges like language barriers could be fun. Thanks for the inspiration Strat.

      @@Strat-Guides it does sound like fun and yeah lol definitely a lot of work. My little wardband for your expedition forces maybe for the first campaign too from unique mercenary clan to (not single unit OP but different and balanced in their own right like Bowmen with a braceable spear but no shield like how vlandias crossbowmen can fight as sword and shield infantry they arent very good at it but they can) Subsequent maps would need bannerkings right? That's the one that ads language & theology so you'd have to learn the language before you can recruit their troops. Throw in some classism and cultural discrimination like only being a noble (vassal) of that kingdom allows you to recruit its noble units and requires a noble commander of the same culture to lead them. Gives reason to bring over a companions offspring as officers so you can field more of your own expedition troops starting with the "20" party size instead of being because you "Aren't renowned" we then translate to "Scouting party" and your force size grows as you get your bearings. Yeah yeah I can work with that now I'm getting excited mod testing when I get home tonight lol if you want to do something like this mate feel free it'll definitely set you apart from the other bannerlord creators interms of unique playthroughs plus with your tactical game play over usual "Line charge poke with polearm shot with bow!" A lot of people do. Your fan base would be glued to the screen just watching you create your own balanced and unique troop trees lol. Anyway thanks again.

    I'm sort of using this build as a template. I'm starting at 20, so I won't need high medicine (still spending 1 points for 25 perk). Would it be best just not to use the points in Intelligence, and put them in a combat stat (control/vigor)? If so, then are there any 'must-have' perks to aim for in those?
    Or would even more endurance be better?
    Or would it be best to keep the Intelligence for the Steward?

  • @masontoleary

    Why was Steward prioritized more? I understand you cannot prioritize every skill but you mentioned that some points “had to go somewhere”

    • @Strat-Guides
      @Strat-Guides  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Stewardship is great for the extra party size, but it's not hard to get a companion to 250 steward and by not getting to 330 you're only giving up about 10 - 11 party size which is negligible. I used to focus on intelligence and get all int skills up to 330 but I've found that social is much stronger for a world conquest. Medicine is the only int skill that can really help, but by the time you finally get to 275, it's not even needed anymore. Leadership 250 give +1 party which is easily another 150 - 200 troops in the army and much better than an extra 10 - 11 in your main party. That's my rationale anyhow

    Any tips for soloing villages early game? The militia archers and rock peasants end up killing me eventually. I managed to kill about 40 out of 70 before a rock took me out. I presume its a lot of running around buildings to avoid arrows and just shooting the few that peak corner. I also fear I'm going to run out of arrows so I try to line up my shots near perfect, which leaves me exposed. Any tips?

    • @Strat-Guides
      @Strat-Guides  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yeah pretty much - the key is to not let them get any shots off. You can usually avoid 99% of the incoming projectiles, but against 40+ that can let loose 30+ arrow each, the statistics will catch up with you eventually so try to use cover in a way that doesn't allow them to get anything off. Peasants are actually the worst to deal with because they have a shorter aiming period. Archers are pretty slow and you have plenty of time to dodge. Peek-a-boo is the best method imo

      I was fortunate to find a companion that had decent intelligence and I found them early on in the campaign, so I decided to let them handle party Steward skills. I set up my work shop in vlandia region because vlandia is stable and then I set out to conquer the world. Im not dare to attack vlandia but I can attack every other faction and kingdom. I invest in my charm a lot. So I start a war with 1 kingdom take 1 of their fief at atime and then sue for peace. Sometime charm + good relationship with lord save me ton of money. At 1 time I took phycaon and then make peace, the lord just ask for 1000 denar for peace. So phycaon = 1000 dennar. Funny run I ever play.
