This is my first time commenting on one of your videos, but I have been watching for a while and I think you are truly skilled. The motivation for this comment was about the rate you charge for your time. I think your specialized knowledge is worth significantly more than the upper end of the range you mentioned. As a general IT guy over ten years ago I charged $120 a hour and I think you are worth more. The market you operate in may not support that, but I wanted to say you should make sure you get payed what you are worth.
its so cool that your wife helps you with your projects 🙂
I would still love to hear a demo of the music that you make!!! I think a lot of us without VPNs would.
It's pretty cool you are still doing this. You designed a box for me back in 2011-2012 maybe and it BANGED. Was on a TFS Ultra I think it was called. Pretty cool you can do what you're doing with smaller drivers now. Absolutely love it!
God TH-cam is such a shitshow.
Amazed that 3D scanner is ONLY $1,000. That's an insanely powerful tool!
Sadly, can't watch the demo video 'cause some other country has told TH-cam I'm too American for their music, and I can't visit the link to the product because it's listed as a malicious tracker.
Good job, Google! Such a user-friendly experience!
BAAAABE! NEW HEXIBASE VIDEO DROPPED!!!
it's nice to see talent at work
Man sub box was awsome dang someone will be able make a lot cool stuff for people or their self with that. A car audio shop could kick butt with that. Great video
Awesome SUB Design, My Compliments ! !
Great job as always!!
I have been waiting for this video for ages!!!!
I was completely unaware that a device like this was available. I will definitely be purchasing this.
That note at the end explains the video being re-uploaded.
Insanely awesome tech
Omg you're still alive! Glad to see another vid from you 2. Take care. 😎👍👍
Brooo the intro on your videos gets my ears tingling
Looks amazing and fits like a glove! I really wanted to hear a demo though. :(
This is amazing. I remember back in the day when I had a box made for my Buick Sundance. Took up the whole trunk. Two 12” gold ohm symbol pioneer subs with a single port. Man it sounded good and man I miss it haha
Holy that companion video... Dude thats insane!!! wish you could do those boxes for cars. would be killer to do a hideaway in my camaro!
Another great build! I look forward to the design details that you do so well, especially why those drivers in that "complex" enclosure vs other alternatives. Each triple of drivers wired in... parallel?
Ah just clicked on the "old" notification, and video was gone. Seconds later there's a reupload. Very nice timing for me specifically, thanks 😊
Edit: After now watching it, obviously I know why now. Honestly splitting out the demo part is probably for the best anyway.
Aaaand, even that split-off demo got struck. Is it time to start making demos using copyright-free tracks?
@@wyw876 he usually makes demos using his own music. This was the attempt at something new.
love your videos!
I’ve thought bout this before and u brought it too life great idea for my Lexus Rx350 some 6.5 sub great job n we need more vids Pete
nice work man! that scanner would be fun to play with..
bad ass! i LOVE it when stuff fits perfectly...
You got skills, i love your videos
That is so freakin' dope.
It's situations like this where I desperately want to justify getting a scanner like this. It feels like the counterpart to the type of manufacturing we have today (3D printing, cnc, lasercutting, etc). Also, this sub design is absolutely stellar! Love the little TCP115 woofers. Using 2 of them as midwoofers for my desk.
This is what I have wanted for so long for my car but no one does this locally
Damm that’s dope!
I would like to get a hold of the blueprint to this box,,, awsome video as usual Pete🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Very cool
Pretty cool that you are in Missouri to I'm in belton. We have a decent size car audio seen here.
Had to VPN to Australia to get the demo video to work without being region blocked. First one I tried that worked
Thanks "mate" I tried 3 spots I thought might work before checking comments.
Would be interested in seeing how you reference the 3D mesh in Fusion 360 or in Solid Works. I have always struggled with combining the 3D models with the sketches and modeled bodies.
i heard you say missouri...i am also in mo...kansas city are...tooo cooool
Excellent car audio project. If you can create some kits for Tesla, BMW and other popular cars for audio mod, you could easily convince lots of owner like me to either buy the plan or the kits to upgrade our audio system. It's more convincing than some of the specialist speakers kit without any audio measurement.
BIY(Build it Yourself) channel also reviewed it. Scanned their custom DOHC Ford V10 Lincoln project.
I would love to come work in your workshop.. building boxes in the 2000 for friends was always kinda the same, ported or sealed.. now with such precision making a box fit is not that hard, just have to have the right tools to work with :) I i dig your work!.. I need a box for my vega 12" that wants to go in my G37 but it takes up too much space with the standard box.. so it sits for now!
2:18 you legend lmao
Here i was initially thinking this would be great for making complex curved beauty panels, like for top and sides of wall builds.. didnt think about an actual box... pretty cool.. really thinking outside the box..... pun intended. Thanks for the vid.
So skillful 😎
You’re too skilled for youtube.
at 8:28 you had some kind of 'flocking' or quite possibly just foam glass cleaner to detect the angle of the windshield to keep down reflectivity. What exactly did you use?
I wish 3D scanners and a half descent 3D printer could be had for like sub 500$. By the time you go and get a shit ton of tools its gonna cost you roughly the same anyways plus the possibilities are endless with a scanner and printer. You can easily design just about anything you need for any application and just make it happen on a computer. IMO for car audio its almost a must especially if you want to go and do something really custom and fancy. Having those 3d scans is so valuable. Maybe your next video should be a budget friendly 3d scanner and printer combo video and you try and use it to idk make tweeter mounts for an a pillar.
I have a video request, I have two subwoofers called the tymphony lat 500 and 700, I'm curious about your take on the sub and setting it up. Love the videos! 3D printing and bass two things I love!! Makes this channel amazing to me!
How loud does it get? :)
I'm always wondering about the spl levels on others builds
Wish I could hear it. This stuff fascinates me.
I WANT A BUILD BY YOU!!!.. but I can't afford $5200/ hour.. not in the slightest 😆 🤣 😂.. awesome videos bro, you're a true master and genius at your craft
I been looking for a 3D scanner like this, but waiting for them to be more hassle free than the ones I was seeing. Not sure if this is that much better, or if there is something like this for cheaper. But I really need something when it is useable without being a pain in the ars.
I would say wait a few years if you want hassle free. Budget 3D scanners for hobbyists are still very new to the market but they are improving quick. I have the Shining3D Einstar and it's by far the best scanner you can get under like $5000, but you need a $2000 to $3000 PC to use it properly which sucks.
Scanners like the Miraco and others that use mobile phones are super handy but for the moment a little slow and clunky to use.
@@NorwayVFX That is what I have been thinking, I do have a few things I would love scan today, but really do not want a hassle.
Niooce!!
Ugh... the level of knowledge and tech you put to this makes me feel completely inadequate. TEACH ME YOUR WAYS SENPAI. I want amazing, effecient bass in my Miata! lol
Thats a great use of that space, I couldn't catch the name of the finish Sophie was applying!?
Exohyde. It's a krinkle finish "paint" that adds a layer of dent protection, kinda like bed liner spray for a PU truck. Duratex (?) is another similar type product.
Looks dope af my guy, well done. Takes me back to the 90's when I did a stealth four 12in JL Audio sub install in my 1993 Ford Escort GT. Well, it was visually stealth. Physically I had no storage space lol. I don't have a VPN, sad panda. I was looking forward to making my AT closed back headphones, being driven by a Schiit Magni+, vibrating my brains. Have you considered using Rumble as a YT alternative for things like this?
Amazing
Do you build for other people and if so where are you located
I wonder if the LiDAR on the cellphones will do the same for measurements.
Well this answers a question I'd been wondering about. Whether spending the money to get a 3d scanner just to scan the area behind the seats in my 2015 Miata, in order to provide those to you would be helpful for you. I'm really hoping that I can get down to around 30 hz without sacrificing what little usable space the car has, and this gives me hope, lol.
So...as one of those people who bogarted the entire space under my SUV cargo floor and installed a downfiring 12-inch "pancake sub" with 14.5mm xmax in a sealed enclosure with plenty of DSP on tap, you have me curious...I would want to see what you would do with a "pancake sub" and your design expertise to maximize its performance without having to add bass boost or anything to enhance low frequencies.
It has a learning curve like all things.
It took a while to sink in how to do multi part scans with it.
And those can only be merged in RevoScan5 anyways.
Also do your self a favor and be generous when deleting scan defects before you merge.
The port looks small. How is the vent velocity when you push the woofers?
How come you use those KRKs over your desk when you design badass speakers for fun and profit?
Never disappoint hex gold standard.
make demo recordings available somewhere via the cloud for people who want to hear what it sounds like.
3D is one of those final frontiers for hobbyists to build things only OE's could accomplish just a few years ago.
Also another series of what's in my hatch should be forthcoming.
The CRX pounded with small subs.
This 3D scanner looks like it would be great for recreating engine cases for vintage bikes. Something the average user wouldn't be able to reproduce normally without a massive budget for tooling or making pour molds for molten metal. Team it up with a CNC lathe and you're good to go. :)
To drop bottom without bottoming out.
How do I get in touch with you for a design quote
Do you also rebase music n sell sticks
Random. What ever happened to your older uploads? I just remembered something I went to check out and your oldest videos only go back 5 years.
Revopoint vs einstar?
Man I wish I had time but I work crazy hours just to pay for the fun shop toys I got
Commented on the video that was removed, but TLDR of the question: Would an iphone be good enough for the 3d scanning? as they have lidar and can be had for like 200eur used (or less)
The short answer is yes. It is the sole reason why my daily phone is an iPhone. It takes more effort to get a proper scan but it is very doable. I've went as far as scanning the space for an intake filter housing and printing it from that scan.
The iPhone LiDAR really isn't useful if you want any kind of accuracy and detail. If you want cheap and good, the best thing you can use is a regular digital camera or a phone camera, and use a good photogrammetry app. It takes a lot of time to get enough pictures but the right software will get you some really good results compared to the LiDAR.
@@NorwayVFX you can have your opinion, I manage just fine with the iPhone LiDAR from a real world situation 🤷🏼
Nice! But sound treatment is needed.
This is why copyright is useless.
Well the jokes on them. Now I wont know who they are. Good job lol.
Демо работает с впн на Францию, на сша не открылось, так что смотрите какую страну выбрали
Как обычно, классная работа :)
2015 Chevy Sonic and Cruze ive worked on a few of them that is not what I would call reliable by any means the coolant system is more fragile than the crappy plastic BMW uses the check engine light is always on because the many sensors they use are junk and the timing gears are not keyed ive seen one with 60k miles and the valves and pistons were making sweet love
The Companion video was RESTRICTED because she said SH_T within the first 40 seconds of the video... thats funny.. I JUST got done explaining this to another channel!! LMAO And I haven't brought this up since I learned about it like 4 months ago... and now TWICE in the same day!!! LOL
So yea... General Rule = NO FOUL LANGUAGE IN THE FIRST MINUTE (just to be safe) after that you can say whatever you want..... VERY STRANGE! - You should try it again just to test it out and see if I'm right or not.... and this way we don't have to go to Italy just to listen to your music LMAO :D
The "companion" video is already down 🙃
but doesn't it bang!
My man... did you say you change $5200 an hour?!!
WOW!!! That sound AMAZING!!! And only 200 watts??? How do you have them wired??? And is the amp in 2-channel or mono? (I doubt it but 4-channel? lol ) I'm just wondering all the detail because you said the speakers were 4-ohm and I it's not very often you can run amp in 6-ohm... well I guess I should say older high-wattage amps from the 90's..... at least that was what I had experienced on 3 different amps trying to run 3 x 2ohm speakers... they would all just shut off as soon as the bass hit.....
Yea there are different classes of amps, but I don't know very much about the technical side of it all... which I am SURE you are VERY fluid in :)
yea... now that think about it, my little tiny home amp I got just as a little substitute for running my VERY HOT Onkyo 7.2 receiver ... and I THINK thats where I saw the manual say "16,14,12,10,8,6,4,2,1 ohm stable" - I was baffled!!! But it's some VERY CHEAP 30 watts x 2 + 100 watt x 1 Chinese no-name amp that I've had running for about 5 years now, and we ALL know how truthful those specs can be LOL .....
ANYWAY, I am IMPRESSED with your little setup.. except for 1 thing :( - You REALLY should have painted the inside of the box.... LOL .. yea no one is gonna look at it, but WE DID... and it really doesn't look good.... what if you wanna show it to someone??? bah... it's no big deal :) And I'm still impressed
oh no, demo video already blocked
I’ve been looking at 3D print scanners to do similar car audio builds. I thought you were going to just 3d print the box. Laser cutter to make the box in mdf even better I imagine for the sound. I just don’t like the price on that scanner, do you recommend a lower priced scanner?
where did you put the spare tire?
The demo video isn't playing 😞 it says it's blocked
Man I watch this thinking we were going to get a sound demo, nice build tho.
Sad I can't get the demo vid to work .
@hexibase I love the video. But IDK why did you get new dedicated 3D scanner when you can do this job with your phone...
I know that couple of years ago I had a Huawei mate pro IDK the exact model number... Something like mate 20 pro for example.
And nowadays technology is so much more advanced I bet you have like the newest IPhone and I believe that you are able to do 3D scans with it ?!
Go on and check out all those 1 or 2 videos 🤣 of 3D scans done with the Huawei mate 20 pro. Cheers and I'm sorry for the rant like I know what I'm talking about
This is awesome. Very talented.
Could have saved soo much material by using a single 10" shallow mount in that sane space though. Or even 2. -I know that isn't the point, but. Man the waste
Interesting, but you'd be better off putting some mdf sheets on the spare tire and floor then fiberglassing the floor contour before building the rest of the subwoofer box.
Fun Fact: A used Chevy Sonic or Chevy Spark when involved in an accident are almost always totaled if the airbags are deployed, the cost of airbags + repair is usually more than the value of the car.
Bruh. Fuck this "blocked in your country".
How tf is anything blocked in the US?
Wtf no demo?
Could you scn a 2018 volvo s90 trunk and send the map to me for $200?
CACO... Anyone remember?
or just use cadrboard...
No demo? Pointless without
THAT STEALH BOX WAS FIRE! 🔥 IT SHOULD BE CALLED THE NINJA HEX 🥷🏼
That was a lot of tease for no show.
i like your channel but it seems like you only do advertisements now.
Nice work sir! .. .. .. .. Missery I mean Missouri, HUH.. I'll be watching .... ( Full disclosure:: I'll only be watching from you tube. While I do live in Missouri also. I don't serve as much of a danger to anyone other then my self. case and point, I'll forget I ever wrote this in 5 min... Wanna bet?
