Yes, that's actually an excellent repair. One again, correct prep is the key. I've used this same technique for door & trunk weather stripping and moldings, too. It always works well. Great advice, SPC Thank you!

Funniest thing about this video is that I watched it because I need to restore some very old seals on a vintage mining lamp. Whilst I was watching you I thought "wtf super glue and black silicone" Thats not "restoring rubber". Then I realised it would be easier just to make my own seals out of black silicone. Thank you for that!
That is awesome! Thank you so much for watching and sharing your great results Dianne, we really appreciate it. Hope you have a fantastic week. mad Mike the hammer SPC
Super glue and rubber has the most amazing bond! A friend and I repaired two front lawn tractor tire side walls. the were tubeless! They are still holding after 2 years. we did add a little bit of slime, but the super glue is still holding the chords and outer layers of rubber dead nuts solid!
I'm glad I read this comment. I Tore the sidewall on my new car tires last night. I'm gonna prep it and superglue the flap of rubber back on it. Thanks
To fix a CV boot without taking it off the car, I used a similar method, having a roofing business in England I had loads of partially cured (sticky) EPDM in strips about 3 inches wide. After really careful cleaning I bonded the boot in the same way, then put primer round the entire circumference of the boot, then applied a round of EPDM 'tape' - it lasted for years, and cost just over half an hour's work, on a Citroen which would have been a hellish job otherwise. Nice video, quick and clear - thanks.
Hi I'm in Yorkshire my air intake pipe has just split yesterday will tiger seal work on it as I've got a tube in shed will be difficult to get anything else as it's Xmas eve . Happy Xmas
Huge help this saved me several hundred dollars.Ordering the same intake hose from Japan would have cost close to $300..And I then treated the rubber with 303

Mahalo for the tip. Good video. I restored a vintage VW Scirocco undercarriage shift boot with your method. However, unlike the air plenum you've repaired, the shift book will be under constant movement like a CV joint boot. I have a feeling, it will peel apart over time. We'll see. I made a video that I'll edit and post sometime. I noticed that after I got it togther, used black silicone, started to flex the boot, the super glue bond cracked. I could see the silicone also peel away from the rubber of the boot. So for some extra bonding, I sprayed a couple coats of Flex Seal inside and out. It turns out that Flex Seal doesn't bond well with rubber and can peel away with ease.
Great video and idea using the super glue first! I've always just used the silicone, but the super glue should make it much stronger. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you Robert and yes the superglue is the key to getting everything lined up and in place so that you can slather the silicone on LOL have a great weekend my friend

Wounded Warrior got a bad name a couple years ago for misappropriating funds. Lots of them. May be they got that whole thing straightened out but it tarnished their name a little....actually quite a bit.
holidayrap well we have all had our problems in life for sure and it is what you do in the problem that really matters...WWP has done much more good than bad for our vet's ..now that they have that all cleared up and all the bad apple's out, they are really moving forward in even a much larger way. :)
Of course Mr. SPC... I have a lot of respect for you taking time to promote ANY charity. Not much can be said by others in that area. I appreciate your channel very much. Again, respect.
Sweet, gonna try this on my backpack blower if my duct tape fix doesn't hold up. I took a heat gun to the tape and molded it to the contours on the flex tube. Been good for 3 years now. Redmax discontinued parts are tough to find and expensive.
Just finished my Husqvarna blower flex tube repair using this method, and although I don't have a SPC super duper air compressor nozzle. I made due just fine and dandy! You guys rock! Thank you and keep'em coming... 👍😀👍
@3:15 i would sand slightly on the inside of rib with an emery board. this will give the black silcon more surface area to grab. JUST SAND the RIB NOT THE CRACKED area. Ive done this exact repair on a 98 Honda Civic CV boot and and it has lasted another 10 years !!! Again dont sand the actual crack BUT do sand the inside of the rib slightly.
Thanks for the vid. I do want to ask about the 303. You mentioned the intake hose would be covered with 303. -Should we be careful not to get 303 on the repair/dried silicone? -Or is it something that's fine to go ahead & submerge/soak/cover in 303? -Should it only be sprayed away from or around the repair? Thanks again
Once the repair is cured up, you are good to douse the thing in 303 until the cows come home. Thanks for asking Donnie. Have a great day my friend. mad Mike the hammer SPC
Hi, Every day I look forward to a new Sweeeeet tip. I don't think that's sad! So stone chips on Saturday, and they will be gone ! Plus I don't think I will be unable to resist to crawl under car and 303 sauce the CV boots. 😁
Colin good to hear that my friend you are one of the good ones here that’s for sure we are glad we can help you and those CV boots will not crack or Rot if you keep the 303 on them have a great weekend my friend
I like to joke a bit, but I've learnt so much from your posts that I've started to use. Bought the superglue today just in case! Just asked a question on one of your stone chip videos, hope you don't mind. C
I have 2 dry rotted spots on a rear vented window seal on my 98 Ford Ranger XLT I'm restoring because I love this truck. Been together a long time. Will the permanent fill in the 2 little voids until I can find a new seal I can't seem to find anywhere?
This amzn.to/2ug9uNA is what you want to use for that per the video Robert. Thank you so much for watching and asking, have a great weekend and all the best on your project my friend. mad Mike the hammer SPC
As you said, “clean the surfaces to make sure the adhesives will adhere.” Make sure you have vigorous ventilation when using volatile solvents like lacquer thinner. After cleaning the surfaces with lacquer thinner or alcohol, air dry, then test to see how clean the surfaces are by spraying clean water on the surfaces to be repaired. If it is free of grease, the water should sheet in the surfaces. If the water beads up anyplace, you will thank yourself for checking because the adhesive would have failed. Conditioning the part before repairing is optimal. Treat the rubber with wintergreen oil in a carrier solvent like alcohol 1 to 3 dilution. Always use gloves, don’t touch the part with bare hands.
I wonder how we can do this on the front axle CV shaft. my axle shaft boot is broken and leaking and it is full of grease. we can still do this work on that torn rubber boot on the axle?
I have a 2005 Honda accord 6 cylinder, the air intake hose has multiple cracks and is completely severed next to the air box. Should I attempt to superglue and apply black silicone to it or do you think it is too far gone? I can send pics if necessary.
Please send us some pics to sweetprojectcars@gmail.com we will get you pointed in the right direction Justin. Thanks for watching and asking, have a great day. mad Mike & team
I've been waiting for this one Mike. I'm gonna use sekaflex 221 here in South Africa. I wish I could get my hands on some of that special secret sauce of yours. The big bad 303. Can I make it here with similar products?
If you click the links in the description, it will give you the comparable product available to you in your country Nico. Thanks for watching and sharing, have a fantastic day my friend. mad Mike
GOOD LORD AND I JUST REPLACED THE INTAKE HOSE ON MY GIRLFRIEND'S HONDA LAST SATURDAY SINCE I COULDN'T THINK OF A WAY TO FIX IT! I SPENT $32 ON IT! (I wanted to use JB weld but I've never used jb weld so I didn't know how good it would be in runner2)
Well now my friend you know how to deal with this issue in the future that’s why her channel is here to load your memory banks up with all kinds of cool and trick ways to fix things affordably have a great weekend
Niamh thank you very much with these tips and tricks you will not believe how much your mechanical ability imagination will take off and have a great weekend my friend
I used the black silicone, without the super glue, and all i can say is WOW, one of my inner tierods was cracked and i washed out very well, and i used the black silicone, and it litterly became part of the cracked boot boot, it looked great and it was solid
Use either of these amzn.to/3VHQoea or amzn.to/3ThXDYI pick your color, and remember make sure you have everything set before you put the glue on because this stuff sticks and you won't ever get it off. Thanks for watching and asking, have a great day and all the best on your project my friend. mad Mike the hammer SPC

Is that black stuff RTV gasket sealant? Im in New Zealand I think we call it something different. On my JDM Honda the intake rubber hose is broken like that and a new one is very expensive.
Watch this th-cam.com/video/e5GvLnFgCag/w-d-xo.html it should be exactly what you are looking for my friend. Thanks for the view, have a great day. mad Mike
Hello SPC! I have a question for you but it is regarding stone chips repairing. I used your guide for that. And I satisfied around 80% ) The issue is when I was sanding the primer in some spots I destroyed a bit more than I should clear coat. I didn't find any videos from you on how to repair the clear coat )))
Kyryll Haponenko the only way to repair clear coat is to buff it back to a shine with your mother's polish or if you took the clear off you will need to reclear it see this it may help th-cam.com/video/0kVRwnRIb54/w-d-xo.html
Hi! Thanks for ur helpful videos. Dont u have 1 on weatherstripping? Mine has come loose on the back glass on my '00 Firebird Formula, glass is still secure, no leaks. I'm n california so no snow, etc. Thank again 4 helping us gals out. I always reccomend your channel!
Sweet Project Cars r u guys gonna do a vid on this? Cuz I’ve got the same prob w my SUV (NY weather)...lousy looking weather stripping in parts but no leaks or chunks taken out. I’m thinking of just trying this to see if it’ll work. (It’s parked in a garage so I can leave doors open to dry)
SPC I have a rc tank but the tanks tread which is a type of soft rubber, ripped. Do you think the way you glued that rubber together can fix my tanks tread, pls I need help
@@SweetProjectCars i went and bought what you used and the rip so was so severe there was no way it was gonna hold so luckily it was ripped towards the top end where rubber slides onto the tank. I cut off the hose about 15 inches took off the glove and put back onto the remaining hose. I lost some length but luckily this hose is around 15 feet long. Saved me 140$ from buying a new hose. I did use the super glue for a small tear but should hold up just fine. Still under warranty so we'll see if they send me a new one. Now I'm off to go do an interior detail.
Hey HEY!.. hats off to ya as usual.. great work and share as well.. quick question I have semi soft some sort of foam based smooth rubber like finished arm rest/door handle on a Peterbilt that of course has degraded greatly over the years and now had the metal handle base breaking thru.. any videos on that type of repair/fix?.. wish I could supply a photo.. ok then.. enjoy that Fla. weather!

Genius. I'm likely going to be doing this shortly. Thanks for this fantastic tip. I just can't say I'm going to remove the rack and pinion to fix a the rubber seal. Likely leaving it in place.

Would this repair be gas and oil resistant, I have a stilh carb intake manifold on a ms201t that is ripped in half , it's a expensive part , more then I paid for the saw.
Can we do this on the front axle CV shaft without removing the boot? actually it remains with full of grease and just wondering how we can do the glue part with full of grease on the rubber.
Yes you can repair without removing the boot, just make sure you use this amzn.to/3hsXZbJ to clean thoroughly then make sure you use this amzn.to/2LfFaJh Thanks for the great question. Good luck with your project! mad Mike the hammer SPC
@@SweetProjectCars I just replaced the full axle..axle didn't come out and was jammed and then wheel bearing had to cut and remove. So axle+new wheel bearing + labor costed me 598 Canadian dollars.. little heart attack.

The glue we show in the show more of the video description is not a hot glue it will withstand high temperatures very well and it is a UV silicone glue is well
Hi I've got a crack in my tailpipe the tailpipes very Rusty but I don't have the $100 to replace it. I've looked around on TH-cam and the suggestion is tiger patch. Do you agree? It's on the straight.

dredger9mm you are very welcome my friend ..and yes you could start slow and easy and make some great extra money on the side ...you never know where it could go :)
Do you think this would work on the rubber flap hanging down under the front bumper? I'm wondering if it could hold up to something designed to scrape on stuff?
It will definitely work, but we suggest not pulling up too close to bump stops in parking lots, that will help tremendously. Thanks for watching and asking Dylan. Have a great day. mad Mike the hammer SPC
@@SweetProjectCars Thank you for the reply! I just bought a lowered 2011 mustang gt. The bumper scrapes on everything. I noticed the flap is holding on by a couple inches on both sides . My repair area is about two feet long.. I will be taking off my bumper and using the method in your video. Thanks again Mike
If you can clean all the grease off both sides of the crack and hold it together until the glue takes hold I would try it. Your only out of a few dollars of materials and your time if it doesn't hold.

That's fine but what about seam repair on a moving part like a diaphragm. That join shown here is static and not subject to stresses like in a diaphragm.
I’m going to do this but shorten the tube (cut it in half) on my go kart build because the air box and tube sticks out about a foot out and doesn’t look good that far out. Where do you recommend I cut between the ribs??

YOU are the Man! 303 baby!
Thank you very much Bill we truly appreciate that my friend please share our channel everywhere you can that would really help us out.
Paul Menten you are a great Subscriber thanks for sharing :)
I wonder how we can do this on the front axle CV shaft. my axle shaft boot is broken and leaking and it is full of grease. we can still do this work on that torn rubber boot on the axle?
@@Shakpickleball did u ever try this im in the same boat with my axel boot

Hello Spc,i have a question, how im gonna fix my weather strip in my roof vehicle? What kind of sealant? Glue?
Use either of these amzn.to/3VHQoea or amzn.to/3ThXDYI pick your color, and remember make sure you have everything set before you put the glue on because this stuff sticks and you won't ever get it off. Thanks for watching and asking, have a great day and all the best on your project my friend. mad Mike the hammer SPC
@@SweetProjectCars Thanks so much SPC
Thanks for the tip, I never would have thought of the loctite super glue.
You very much we are very glad we can help you have a fantastic weekend
I wonder if this would work for my snorkel I use for swimming? It's black silicone but it's exposed to salt water on a regular basis
Top dog once again. Thankyou Mike

Thanks for the view, have a great day. mad Mike
Will do to aged cracks on tie rods and ball joints ? Thaxs
Billy you will love the results on your age cracks of your tire rods and ball joints
Hello SPC! I have a question for you but it is regarding stone chips repairing. I used your guide for that. And I satisfied around 80% )
The issue is when I was sanding the primer in some spots I destroyed a bit more than I should clear coat.
Jan can you send a picture or two so we can see what you are dealing with...sweetprojectcars@gmail.com thanks mike
That will save a lot of money thanks my friend

SPC I have a rc tank but the tanks tread which is a type of soft rubber, ripped. Do you think the way you glued that rubber together can fix my tanks tread, pls I need help
Justin, give it a shot my friend, you've got nothing to lose! Thanks for the question, have a great day! mad Mike SPC
Will this work an extractor hose of this type that ripped apart ? Am I able to glue together and hopefully hold till I get a new one?
Give it a shot, Louis, sounds like you've got nothing to lose. Thanks for watching. Have a great day my friend. mad Mike the hammer SPC
Hey HEY!.. hats off to ya as usual.. great work and share as well.. quick question I have semi soft some sort of foam based smooth rubber like finished arm rest/door handle on a Peterbilt that of course has degraded greatly over the years and now had the metal handle base breaking thru.. any videos on that type of repair/fix?.. wish I could supply a photo.. ok then.. enjoy that Fla. weather!
Hey Stephen, sorry about the delay in responding, if you can send us pics of your door handle to sweetprojectcars@gmail.com, we will see what we can do for you my friend. Thanks for watching and asking, have a great day. mad Mike the hammer SPC
Thanks a lot for this video😀😀😉, I would repair my air intake hose and try this.
Will it work on a brake caliper dust booth?
It sure will Sio, this amzn.to/2ug9uNA will work great! Thanks for watching and asking, have a great week my friend. mad Mike the hammer SPC
would this work on an intake rubber boot where gasoline would be passing through the boot and very close to the high temps of the engine?
Give it a shot, we've had great results when using this process on the many things we have used it on. Thanks. Have a great day. mad Mike the hammer SPC
Genius. I'm likely going to be doing this shortly. Thanks for this fantastic tip. I just can't say I'm going to remove the rack and pinion to fix a the rubber seal. Likely leaving it in place.
So you're saying if the crack is "in the valley" between two ribs, then you can skip the super glue and go straight to the Permatex silicone, right?
It's always good to use the superglue if you can no matter where it's at, but if you can't get to it in the valley area then just use the silicone. Thank you for watching and asking. mad Mike the hammer SPC
Looks great, but you mention 303? What is 303?
It's this amzn.to/2WQg0sB and just a reminder, all of the products/tools we use in our videos can always be found in the ...MORE of the videos description, see here 3c5.com/4u6dj if you can't find it let us know and we will help you. Thanks for watching. mad Mike the hammer SPC
Would this repair be gas and oil resistant, I have a stilh carb intake manifold on a ms201t that is ripped in half , it's a expensive part , more then I paid for the saw.
Yes it sure is David! Have at it my friend, thanks for watching and asking, have a great day and all the best on your project. mad Mike the hammer SPC
Worked for me on my Yamaha yz85 reed intake boot 👍
Well done!
Great tip love the video and the joke and the end just loved it man 🤣
Thank you we truly appreciate that my friend
I was planing to fix my gas mask with this trick 😂😂
Good idea Navarre! LOL, thanks for watching and sharing, have a great day. mad Mike the hammer SPC
Thank u thank u just repaired a vacuum hose perfect Have u every try using Bio cleaner I used it to clean glass Has a clay from France wonder if could be used for car paint to clean before buffing?
You’re very welcome and thank you for sharing some great tips and ideas have a great weekend my friend
What product do you use to soften old rubber parts? Any videos?
Roy Vannoy this is what we use amzn.to/2jCHktN you soak the part in it or keep them sprayed down with is as long as it takes to soften them
Thanks for sharing your experience. That is perfect. A query that I have - will the glues be hot and UV resistant?
The glue we show in the show more of the video description is not a hot glue it will withstand high temperatures very well and it is a UV silicone glue is well
Hi I've got a crack in my tailpipe the tailpipes very Rusty but I don't have the $100 to replace it. I've looked around on TH-cam and the suggestion is tiger patch. Do you agree? It's on the straight.
It is definitely worth a try I will be doing a video on repairing basically the same thing but that will not be for a couple weeks
Loving the bike at the end. What is it? A harley? Model?
Damian G 2004 big dog Pitbull with the 107 S&S in it.
Do you think I can thin this on an wader on an old rubber boot?, massaging it in a old boot that looks like its gonna start cracking everywhere.
Well as we say here sure doesn’t hurt to try
Sweet Project Cars thanks
Two words: You rock.
9mm thank you very much my friend that means a lot to us for all the time and effort it takes to do these videos have a fantastic weekend
Well we all appreciate all your effort and personally I'm always lookin' forward to the next video. Honestly, I ought to get off my ass, and put all this knowledge into action and offer up a little side business here in town. Anyway, thanks again, man. Humongous thumbs up from me.
dredger9mm you are very welcome my friend ..and yes you could start slow and easy and make some great extra money on the side ...you never know where it could go :)
What’s the set time ? How long till I can drive it?
Champ 3 hours in the sun and it’s ready to go otherwise if you can let it set overnight that’s much better thanks mad Mike
Will this work on air intake hose that bigger and thicker for my 89 nissan stanza
This will work on any rubber hose my friend. Thank you for watching and asking, have a sweeeeet rest of your week. mad Mike & team
Gonna try this on a split Mercruiser throttle cable boot. May save $600!!
Glad we could help Diane! Thank you for watching and sharing, have a great week and all the best on your project my friend. mad Mike the hammer SPC
Will that work on a front wheel drive outside axle boot ?? ( still on the vehicle )
If you can clean all the grease off both sides of the crack and hold it together until the glue takes hold I would try it. Your only out of a few dollars of materials and your time if it doesn't hold.
J B oh ok, thank you ..
Ron it sure will it will work like a charm
Sweet Project Cars thanks you, it sure will save me some money!! I got one right now that need that done to it !! Thank you for sharing all your how to repair videos with us !!!
ron you are very welcome my friend :) Mike
You sure have some cool ideas thanks amigo
Ty thank you very much my friend and again Gracias
Hello SPC , this is a great and informative video. Btw, do you have any tutorials video or tips on car interior sound proof
iqraq we use this amzn.to/2J2R1fM and the problem is you pretty much just remove all of the interior to install it. It is a simple process but very time consuming
@@SweetProjectCars thank you for the information
Can we use spray silicon instead of Aerospace 303 for make rubber parts long lasting and healthy?
Hello bronze sorry but silicone spray is very damaging to rubber overtime thank you for asking have a great week and we will see you this Thursday
Thank you .
That's fine but what about seam repair on a moving part like a diaphragm. That join shown here is static and not subject to stresses like in a diaphragm.
Works on moving rubber too. Thanks. mad Mike the hammer SPC
@@SweetProjectCars But we can agree pump repair is a bunch of bs sometime. .you fix one thing another goes wrong seemingly unrelated. 😏😐
Great! Do u think this will work on shoes (Nike)? Particularly bonding the sole to the shoe?
give it a shot and see if you like the results
I’m going to do this but shorten the tube (cut it in half) on my go kart build because the air box and tube sticks out about a foot out and doesn’t look good that far out. Where do you recommend I cut between the ribs??
You cut in the valley of the ribbed tube. Thanks for asking, hope this helps. Happy New Year. mad Mike the hammer SPC
You are so excellent!
