Hey there buddy! Thx for your video. Today I’ve build a pc with z790 ace board and my ram kits trident z5 7800 mhz. When I start windows its goin 4000 mhz as stock and whenever I boost it 4800 mhz, 5200 MHz, 5600 MHz its starting givin blue screen and restarting, then when booting it says overclock failed and returned base settings. So I didn’t make it like yours i just choice another MHz of it and failed all day so end of the day i returned to the 4000 MHz base settings. Tomorrow i will dig in for more and first step will be yours. Thanks again, will inform for end of story. Maybe my ram kits not fitting with my board and i need to change the brand im not sure i. Lets try first then we will see best regards bud 👍🏻👋🏻
Thank you for sharing. When you get to trying the method in this video, if it still does not work, you may want to see the following video which shows how to check if your RAM is working properly. RAM Error Checks and Benchmarking Using MemTest86 th-cam.com/video/6sxf25WGuJk/w-d-xo.html
So my new pc is very close to your build, but the Ram I am on 4x32gb at 6400hertz but cant get it about 4000hertz and XMP don't work either, The one thing I can think could be the issue is my Bios, As I am on AMI BIOS, 7D86vA0, 2023-09-25 (Which is the one out of the factory) Do you think its worth updating personally, as I noticed in one of the updated Bios there was a Improve memory compatibility on one of the newer Bios, I know that I have kind of answered my own question, but its more do you think its worth updating the Bios to the latest generally do you notice any improvement's? and is it likely to resolve it. This is my specs Intel I9 14900KF (Processor) MEG Z790 ACE MAX (Motherboard) MSI MEG Ai1300P PCIE5 (Powersupply) CORSAIR VENGEANCE RGB DDR5, 128GB, 4x32GB, 6400Hertz CL32 (RAM) ASUS TUF GeForce RTX 4090 OC Edition (GPU) Corsair iCUE H150i ELITE 360 (AIO) Corsair 7000D AIRFLOW Full-Tower ATX (PC Case) 2TB M.2 Gen4 (WD_BLACK SN850X) 4TB M.2 Gen5 (Crucial T700 4TB) Thanks in advance.
If you install two ram sticks instead of four, do you still experience the same issue with the RAM speed? Have you checked your RAM for issues using MemTest86 as shown here th-cam.com/video/6sxf25WGuJk/w-d-xo.html ?
@@JoeAlisando When i tested it with 2 ram sticks, I was getting 5200hertz with out XMP as that wouldn't boot when i turned it on either in bios, if i remember correctly i could never reach 6400hertz
Thank you for the answer. If MemTest86 does not show any issues with the RAM sticks, I would update the BIOS. For more information on updating the BIOS, see the following video th-cam.com/video/fB5tFFb8fyo/w-d-xo.html .
@@JoeAlisando So finally got round to updating my bios as flashing can be quite daunting but it must have been the cause of XMP not work with 4 sticks. Now with BIOS update 7D86vA4 its running XMP with 4x32gb at 5200hz with no issues, Not tried running higher as my sticks are each 6400Hz, But might experiment more but least XMP works and its a higher hertz thanks for all your videos on the MSI MEG Z790 ACE MAX :D
