This Ferrari uses a dry sump and needs the engine to be running to check the oil level. Definitely clean out the intake fully to prevent a backfire, had a mate's Modena 360 that had been over filled and after extracting the oil while driving, there was still enough oil vapour to ignite and caused a massive backfire through the intake.

Talk about a cliffhanger! I nearly had a stroke when the music kicked in. I know the sound of a well-tuned and correctly running Ferrari is supposed to be like a symphony, but that is ridiculous!
My parents have used some of those quick lube places and they over filled the engine oil, causing the engine to throw a rod after the car was driven out of town at highway speeds. Had a Ford mechanic leave an oil rag on top of the engine that started smoldering during an out of state trip, pulled over to the side of the road when we noticed the smoke. I owned a Lincoln Mark VIII and because of it's age to get the emission sticker in GA they had to put it on one of those dyno type testers, the tech thought it was a front wheel drive car, fortunately for me I saw what he was doing and got him to stop before he flew through the wall.
Dodge shop with a "Sprinter" did the oil change on it. It's nothing more then a re-badge Merc. They put in the required amount of Mobil-1 and failed to install the oil filter O-Ring correctly (The seal rolled...) About 7-8 qts sprayed all over the area..... &hit happens.

Oil's oil, for short testing purposes. If the engine is shot, why throw in $100 of oil? You throw in $20 of oil for testing. If the engine runs great, you change it out after a few weeks. I would have done the same thing.
If you look that stuff up, it tests good! The synthetic was comparable to Mobil1, I started buying it and using it in my Mustang instead of 35 buck Mobil1 lol.
If my choices are cheap oil or none, I'm taking the cheap oil. A short run time won't hurt anything if the weight is approximately right and it doesn't contain anything that will destroy the seals.

I got the Honey browser extension from a different TH-camr (LTT) quite a while ago. Samcrac is not just speaking nonsense, it really does what it says. The only thing I'd point out is the extension does ask for your email, which I declined to provide. Honey still does its thing and doesn't bother me to register. Highly recommend!

Invictus - Games & Talks super tech is about as low as you can go on quality of oil. Although Ferrari doesn’t require special oil other than full synthetic dumping the cheapest oil money can buy into a Ferrari blows my mind.. I don’t run anything below SN-Plus rated oil in my fords i surely wouldn’t in a Ferrari..

In fact, they have accidents because they unleash power they are unable to control. Sometimes, it results in totaling the car, and giving an opportunity to Samcrac to entertain us. I drove a Ferrari once, renting it for just one day. It was a Ferrari F430 spider, 900 for the day with 100 miles included. That's all I did, 100 miles. I drove it with care, just enjoying the feeling. Unless I win the lottery, I will never own one.
Oh dear,.. you started up a V8 sportscar engine without doing the most basic of checks - fluids, filters, leaks, casing inspection, all sensor connections. Why did you check the suspension first, instead of the heart of any car? I have a feeling you'll be auctioning that 360 in a couple weeks... Get some basic mechanical/car servicing knowledge before making any more videos....
The car has clearly not had a charmed life up to the point where it was totaled. Here's hoping there isn't more misery lurking due to (a) it's Italian and (b) it has suffered some abuse/neglect.
I use honey and it does actually work and all the small savings add up also this is a dope video love the rebuilds I want to hopefully do a rebuild one day

Braddah, I live in Hawaii and don't have that kine of money to even buy a wrecked Toyota Supra, you do not start any car until you check the fluid levels, oil, coolant ect.. I would've had the tow crew push it off the truck. Engine repair is more costly than suspension, and you left me hanging and the end of this vid

It’s a dry sump engine, you have to check the oil with the engine warm and at idle! That’s why you overfilled it.

To measure oil level in 360, car should be running and hot. Yup you can’t use oil dipstick to measure oil level when car is off.

@@TheSponge945 it's weird, the detailing videos seem to get a huge number of views too. It's time intensive, but not crazy... Maybe it's just that these mechanically inclined folks are less concerned with form and more with function. I appreciate both, but I think a car is incomplete if the part that everyone gets to see looks beat up, but that's just me

For his stupidity of overfilling a Ferrari he deserved a broken engine. Seriously, it's a Ferrari engine not a 1960 Ford Truck engine. If you do things by yourself do them right. How to check the oil/do an oil change on this engine needs one click on the interwebs.

I got the Honey browser extension from a different TH-camr (LTT) quite a while ago. Samcrac is not just speaking nonsense, it really does what it says. The only thing I'd point out is the extension does ask for your email, which I declined to provide. Honey still does its thing and doesn't bother me to register. Highly recommend!

Invictus - Games & Talks super tech is about as low as you can go on quality of oil. Although Ferrari doesn’t require special oil other than full synthetic dumping the cheapest oil money can buy into a Ferrari blows my mind.. I don’t run anything below SN-Plus rated oil in my fords i surely wouldn’t in a Ferrari..

I would be very wary of purchasing an exotic car from someone who does not have the minimum mechanical understanding. I drove a Ferrari once, renting it for just one day. It was a Ferrari F430 spider, 900 for the day with 100 miles included. That's all I did, 100 miles. I drove it with care, just enjoying the feeling. Unless I win the lottery, I will never own one.

Braddah, I live in Hawaii and don't have that kine of money to even buy a wrecked Toyota Supra, you do not start any car until you check the fluid levels, oil, coolant ect.. I would've had the tow crew push it off the truck. Engine repair is more costly than suspension, and you left me hanging and the end of this vid
