I LOVE Jennifer Connelly. Labyrinth, Rocketeer, Dark City, Requiem, Creation... Love them. She's one of the most beautiful women in the world. Truly elegant and timeless.
It can not be overstated how skilled Seth is at meeting a guest where they are and then guiding them into a relaxed and enjoyable conversation. Once Jennifer started talking about her family, she - along with the audience - was enjoying the ride.
I completely agree. I was actually in the audience last night. Once she spoke about her family, her comfortable energy was fun to observe and also very infectious. She's a beautiful person inside and out.
@@mitze888 I know!! It was a surreal experience! I'm a massive fan of hers and had seen her before live. But I appreciated how Seth brought out more of a personal and sweet side to her instead of it being solely on the project she was promoting.
Seth is amazing. No notes to refer to ever, no matter the guest. He genuinely has an interest in conversing with them, making them comfortable, and getting the best out of nervous or recalcitrant guests. My favorite late night host ever (and I'm old enough to remember all the way back to Johnny Carson).
Fun Connelly story. Director of “Blood Diamonds” came up to DiCaprio and Connelly on the set. DiCaprio was looking through a Victoria Secret catalog and the Director asked him what he was up to. Connelly answered “He’s shopping..” DiCaprio is/was pretty well known for dating young models….
... except I wonder whether it was a reference to shopping for his young GFs or was he literally "shopping" for some new talent featured in the catalog 😂
Seth I love how you respect her so much as an actor that you slide directly into talking about the nuances of her movie rather than a bunch of meaningless celebrity banter
It's wild to have watched this woman act since she was a little child to now and see her evolution as an actress and person. She's been doing this for 40 years or more. It's amazing how far she has come as an actress. She is very focused, intelligent, and dedicated to her work. It shows in her performances over the years. I still enjoy quite a few of her movies. House of Sand and Fog is still one of my favorite performances she's done.
I fell in love with her when I saw "Once Upon a Time in America" (we are the same age). The dancing. The music. The beauty. I still love her, but don't tell my wife.
You're absolutely right, but I keep thinking: to look this ageless at 53 years old... the amount of plastic surgeries she must have had. Her beauty, despite being timeless, does not seem to fade. Well... she doesn't show her neck either.
@@iphar I am 47, I look like 35. I smoked for 20 years and drank A LOT of alcohol. I eat very healthy, though, and work out. 🙂 Point being: Maybe there was surgery (she had a nose job, for sure), but it's possible to look way younger than the average people your age, without.
@@iphar What on earth are you talking about. Those of us with oily skin naturally look much younger. I am always carded everywhere I go. I'm 49. Boston frat boys hit on me because they think I'm their age. Plastic surgery disgusts me and I make fun of people who have it. It's called having really oily skin and having a really good mom who taught me to stay out of the sun for my entire life. I also have never smoked in my life. You know not what you're talking about.
Her forehead doesn't crease or move at all. She has had botox for sure. Also, she definitely lost all the softness in her face and she is way too thin now. She's rumoured to have an eating disorder? You have to understand these Hollywood actresses are under such pressure to look thin that they all pretty much end up having eating disorders. Such a shame they treat them like that. She is still an attractive woman but you have to be honest and admit with the weight loss her face got a bit hard. She might also have had surgery to get a more square face. In the 80s she had a very soft and round face and now it's the opposite.
Here’s my quick anecdote: I was at IKEA and i saw a man that looked JUST like Paul Bettany and I mentioned it to a friend. We walked past him and it SOUNDED like him as well. This was either shortly BEFORE he was Vision or AFTER, I don’t remember which. I said to my friend that I am pretty sure it was Paul and they said “Go say something!” And of course I didn’t. I hate bugging people, AND WHAT IF I’M WRONG?! Needless to say on our way out at the registers suddenly two kids coming running up to him and this beautiful brunette and I remembered… PAUL’S MARRIED TO JENNIFER!!! So, that’s the closest I ever got to them. The IKEA was busy as hell!
That’s a great “brush with greatness” story! (David Letterman used to occasionally ask audience members to recount their stories of interactions (or even sightings) of famous people. He called the segment that.
You know, maybe it wasn't the Paul Bettany from our universe. It could've been Paul Bettany 2 (who regretted breaking up with Jennifer at a critical point in their relationship to focus in on his quantum physics side-hustle) and figured out how to put himself into superposition to travel to our universe. Then he plucked out the real Paul Bettany, stuck him back in universe 2, and took his place. If there's one thing I've learned from watching this show over the past week, appearances can be deceiving! :)
It's also a great book that was turned into a great movie. I don't know if anyone other than Jennifer Connelly could have done justice to that character; she was riveting-and devastating.
I don't even mind that now. TH-cam is pushing me pretty much every. Jennifer Connelly interview. She's ever done on every talk show over the decades. And another stellar performance. The nuances between some of the versions of herself are pitch perfect. As well as an Indie film released recently and the final season of Snowpiercer, what a season for her fans!
No idea how one of the most beautiful actresses on Earth, being at 53 years of age, manages to work two major projects at almost the same time (final season of Snow Piercer, and first season of Dark Matter) and STILL can look this gorgeous
I’m gayer than Elton, but Jennifer has always been my #1 girl crush. She just exudes sophistication and beauty. A true model of successful child stars.
Yes, since she started at 10, Gen X has grown up with her. To any girl living in Pittsburgh or Ohio, she seemed like another friend at your slumber party watching movies with fall leaves like Seven Minutes in Heaven, such a cute film. To this day, she is the wind beneath my wings when negotiating anything. I was just interviewing remodeling contractors and roofers. So many would not answer my questions. I finally picked one who spent 2 hours answering and sounded like they knew what they were doing. But, the others would look over their glasses at me when I asked a question and say condescendingly, "Come on, (did you just say my first name?!), I've been in this business 50 years.....", which isn't really an answer to anything. And I would picture her attacking him and hear myself in my mind saying, "What the hell kind of word is 'loggerheads'??!!!" To this day, it gives me strength in every tough negotiation! Thank you!
This was one of my favorite interviews this week! Side note: I'm glad that Seth isn't yelling as much over the applause and cheers (I always worry about his voice) but could whoever mixes the sound turn the audience down? 🤞🏽🙏🏽💖
What a fun and wonderful family, family inside pranks and jokes really make the bond stronger, I keep using the same joke to my siblings and it still gets them after all this time.
Jennifer Connelly... From a cute young girl in 'Labrynth', to the absolutely stunning mature lady today. So many actresses mesmerise with their looks in their heyday and then, lose it with the highlife excesses and/or chasing beauty regimes even multiple surgeries... But Jennifer...
