The best change a Warrior/Fighter WITH a MP stat ie the Abilties/skills menu the Previous versions of DQ3 ie ALL of them NONE of them have Physical Combat skills at all the Thief/Merchant/Jester skills were all OUT of battle use only. That alone makes the Warrior/Fighter go from 100% useless to actually be worth using especially if their Dragon quest 6 or 7 skills will be intact ie the Critical hit or miss skill Warrior TO kill the Metal Slimes before they try to run away IF it connects.
The only reason I NEVER used those 2 classes in ANY version of DQ3 is because of a lack of their physical skills, also Thief doesn't original get its DQ6 and 7 attack skills in DQ3 that may change in this version thought the Thief attack moves it does learn in DQ6 and 7 are pretty much useless as soon as you unlock its job classes.
I know they won't add this but it was cool how in DQ9 your equipment changed your characters appearance. As long as they keep the cat suit I'll be happy.
I already have dragon quest three on my switch, but I plan on Buying the HD remake and I hope they add in memory of Toriyama I wish he got to see the full game
The beauty of this game is how many different variants of your team you can come up with on new playthroughs. Monster Master adds so many different combinations now. Think I'm going with Warrior, Cleric, Monster Master for my first HD 2D run.
@@dukey03 yeah, like if you have a sexy/vamp merchant, for example, the town will grow into a casino town. Maybe it'll let you recruit people to it like in DQ7
I am so hyped for Dragon Quest 3 HD, along with the supposed Monster Master class. The Monster Master class sounds like it could be this games version of the Blue Mage class from Final Fantasy, but i'm wondering if that might not be the only new class will that may be added.
I think it will be more like a blue mage with the monsters abilities. Unless the hero gets the ability to call in a monster team. If so maybe there will be a thing like in 8 where your monster team gets to fight other ones? So then 8 would be connected to the first trilogy in another way. Would also be cool if you can fly to new places. Like a bigger map that way. Fun to think about.
I wish especially since for the current Switch collection of the first 3 games once the Black Mage learns Kaboom and Kafrizzle if you set the AI to the CHARGE tactic (use 100% MP) their AI is dumb enough to use those 2 spells on enemies that highly resist the spell so that it misses completely while still draining the MP cost for the 2 spells. The best way around that is to add Physical skills that are full enemy party based but do NOT DO Decreased damage PER target ie the Paladin Classes lv 2 Thin Air skill by moving it to the Warrior or Fighter classes.

I feel like monster master will be like from 6 and 7 where it just had monster abilities or learns them from monsters, barely default 2 had the beastmaster job and it also had the added bonus of adding stats to beatmaster with how many you have captured and that is really dumb and OP to the point it could have the highest stats amongst any other job in that game, something they could do here but i think Enix knows how busted that was
Would love to afford the CE but way too much i think and will be happy with the base version. Not sure yet if i will try a solo run or my usual team but if this version doesn't have the pachisi mini game it will be a shame.
I wanted new classes so bad, but the one that I mentioned before any other, was monster master. Of course I am THRILLED that while only 1 new class seems to have been added, at least it was monster master! I wonder how it'll work, like... are they gonna draw every monster from behind as well or will they use lots of camera techniques so we don't ever see them from behind?
I hope they include the same post-game with the Ultraboss and rewards. I wouldn't complain if they chipped down the amount of grinding needed for it though, going from level 40 to like 70 took a long time to say the least xd.
Exactly but even on the Switch port of DQ3 as part of the DQ1 to 3 collection in order to have a 100% run rate even IN the games final dungeon you needed like at lv 85 party LV 99 for the POST game dungeon.
Actually, I don’t think those games would look great in this style. I think they need a DQ11S style. On a side note, DQ7, the PS1 version, is one of my favorite DQ games as well as DQ 3-6, but I don’t know what you can do with 7. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the 3DS version for 7.
@@nintendo8127 I would LOVE DQ4 remade to look and play similar to DQ11! Yeah I loved DQ7 as well, I think the 3DS version is okay for replaying through the game since it’s so much shorter. But you REALLY need to play the PS1 version for the full experience.
I'm actually REALLY hoping they take a DQ9 approach and throw in some character creation cosmetic options and multiplayer options... but IDK what to expect other than DQ3 content. Do you think they'll still have personalities and RNG stat growth?
this will be my first playthrought of 3, 2 and 1. But im still pretty hyped. so the story goes like reverse. so i first go dq 3 then dq2 and then dq1 right?

Hey, I got a question about personalities. Tried looking it up, but couldn't get any results. When you change a character's personality, are those stat changes retroactive or do the start on top of what you had?
I believe it’s “retroactive” just to your current level, then continues on. I don’t remember 💯, but when you go to equip an item or use an item that would change your personality, it shows you what your stats will change to before equipping it. And I don’t think it was a HUGE difference from what your stats currently were, that’s why I don’t think it goes back before your current level.
@@dukey03 Gotcha, thanks. All this thought of RNG min/maxing is giving me pokemon, PTSD, despite the fact that this game did it first and arguably better.
@@ClydeJHatbird Haha yeah, don’t worry too much about it. When you’re creating your party members at the Pub you can usually just keep trying until you get the personality you want. So just whichever one suits their class the best. Then use the items to change the Hero’s personality later on if you get one you don’t like. If you have and keep a Martial Artist in the party; they’ll carry you through all the battles later on anyways hahaha
@@dukey03 Oh neat. I'm actually wondering whether or not we're gonna see skills from later in the series given to the classes or if that would make things too unfaithful. Even without it, this will still be an amazing game. I've been putting off playing DQ3 for way too long and now, the best way to do so is in sight.
Just rewatched it. I think it’s facing the correct way given the direction of the sails. The ship just has a long spike going out the back end for some reason.
I'm actually disappointed that they retained the personality system because I thought it was a bad system. :(. Basically some personalities were just outright better than others in every way, like "Sexy/Vamp", and I didn't like consistently restarting until I got characters with the personalities I want. I'll play this, but I still prefer the NES version. Hopefully someone comes up with a mod to disable them.
Please let there be the return of the parchisi tracks in this version... Yes, the post game track was absolutely bonkers. Yes, it took me over 20hrs to finally flip the bird to the RNG and complete it. I don't care, the madness & spiral into sheer insanity was what made it so much fun!! Never got past the Silver Door though in the monster medal dungeon 😞
I wonder if they will change how vocations work. 3 is probably my least favorite iteration of the job system in the series. I guess the stat growth makes it more interesting than 7. I know some people like being able to just learn everything, but I like 6's approach. A combination of 9 and 6 would be perfect. There are abilities you can permanently learn but if you want to use the strongest skills, you have to be in that class. If you want to cast Kafrizzle, you got to be the squishy Mage. And you get skill points too. This can be how you boost stats and learn abilities.
About that in the DQ games that do have the job classes that are NOT this 3rd game it impossible to learn EVERYTHING NOBODY in DQ6 has Amos and his monster transform skill None of the job classes have it so only Amos can turn into his monster form after he joins permanently. Melvin and Gabo the Wolf boy have spells/skills that ONLY they can use so none of the Human/Monster classes have Melvin's Bang spell as a usable one and Gabo's Bark Rip and Tackle skills only he can learn Gabo's Howl skill is the ONLY one learnt by the Andreal monster class a late game monster class but Howl as a skill sucks it either hits more then 1 enemy around the same 4 hits as sword dance or it FAILS completely. I'm pretty sure some party members in DQ9 have lv up moves outside of the job class system that NONE of the in game jobs have as well.

Square Enix could revisit Dragon Quest XI and make an Unreal Engine 5 version and add HD-2D mode as a third presentation option, with 3D mode getting a graphical overhaul for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X, and 2D mode getting animations on the monsters. There would be new content, as such new monsters borrowed from earlier Dragon Quest titles, as well. There could also be two-monitor compatibility, with the second screen being used for the map.

Over half of those people have never played any other version of the game before; so they aren’t really able to properly compare it to pervious versions. I feel like monster master will be like from 6 and 7 where it just had monster abilities or learns them from monsters, barely default 2 had the beastmaster job and it also had the added bonus of adding stats to beatmaster with how many you have captured and that is really dumb and OP to the point it could have the highest stats amongst any other job in that game, something they could do here but i think Enix knows how busted that was
I never played the original version of the game. So I can’t wait to play this version.
All right create your own party Sweet!
@@justinroller6165 Yeah dude!
Would love to afford the CE but way too much i think and will be happy with the base version. Not sure yet if i will try a solo run or my usual team but if this version doesn't have the pachisi mini game it will be a shame.
Yeah I REALLY hope Pachisi/Suguroku is in this version
I wanted new classes so bad, but the one that I mentioned before any other, was monster master.
Of course I am THRILLED that while only 1 new class seems to have been added, at least it was monster master!
I wonder how it'll work, like... are they gonna draw every monster from behind as well or will they use lots of camera techniques so we don't ever see them from behind?
Yeah, there are so many different ways they could do the Monster Master.
I hope they include the same post-game with the Ultraboss and rewards. I wouldn't complain if they chipped down the amount of grinding needed for it though, going from level 40 to like 70 took a long time to say the least xd.
Yeah, I always hate when they put huge level gaps in the post game.
Exactly but even on the Switch port of DQ3 as part of the DQ1 to 3 collection in order to have a 100% run rate even IN the games final dungeon you needed like at lv 85 party LV 99 for the POST game dungeon.
This looks so damn good, I can’t wait!
Hell yeah dude, same!!
I hope they give the same treatment to 4, 5 and 6
SAME dude! Dragon Quest 4 is one of my favorite games of all time!
Looks awesome. I preordered the standard version on switch but I’m also considering the PS5 version for 60fps.
Which platform did you get it for? I went with the Switch version.
Yeah I went with Switch as well!
I'm actually REALLY hoping they take a DQ9 approach and throw in some character creation cosmetic options and multiplayer options... but IDK what to expect other than DQ3 content. Do you think they'll still have personalities and RNG stat growth?
Gbc extras better get added >:o
@@CursedCommentaries Yeah I hope so. I could do without the coin collecting though tbh 😂
@@dukey03 :o
Welp time to do gadabout challange so i can finish the final fight with a bag o laughs
this will be my first playthrought of 3, 2 and 1. But im still pretty hyped. so the story goes like reverse. so i first go dq 3 then dq2 and then dq1 right?
DQ III is the first one chronologically speaking, after that it goes normal from DQI to DQII
The story goes DQ3, then 1, then 2
Will there be the Pachisi boards? How about Monster Medals? End of Game dungeons/quests as in the GBC version?
None of these have been confirmed yet. I REALLY hope Pachisi is in it though.
Funny thing. Im actually more excited for the Dragon Quest 1&2 HD 2D remake but I know for certain I will be enjoying the HELL out of the DQ3 remake as well!
Just because of the potential for improvements, or how come?
@@dukey03 Dragon Quest 1&2 are actually my favorite games in the trilogy. I play them far more than I do DQ3. No particular reason mind you, I just enjoyed playing them more.
@@zedorian6547 Oh awesome!! I’ve probably played Dragon Quest 1 more than any other game (except maybe Sonic 2 and Mega Man 6); so I understand!
@@dukey03 im almost right there with you! My top played game is probably Zelda: Ocarina of Time with DQ1&2 (I never play one without the other) coming easily in my top 5 at this point.
I think the price is a bit much for me hopefully there will be a 1-3 bundle later next year.
Part of me wishes they did on the map battles like DQ8SDS and D11 but ill still play it. Should be fun
@@ClydeJHatbird I believe we will; someone in the comments here noticed that during the Troll boss fight, the Warrior had MP.
That Ship was going backwards. The Mast (front of the ship) was facing us as the boat was departing away from us.
Hahaha wtf!? I didn’t even notice that!! I wonder if it’s from the whirlpool scene then…
Just rewatched it. I think it’s facing the correct way given the direction of the sails. The ship just has a long spike going out the back end for some reason.
@@dukey03look up pirate ships then look at the design of the ship again. Then let me know. Because to me, it’s backwards.
straight to the point, timestamps, nice video.
Thanks dude! Glad you enjoyed it!
I like it, but I could understand how some people might not
They need to add in the option to see your characters and their attack animations during combat, that would elevate this game even further.
I'm definitely picking it up, but on PC I think instead of Switch.
Yeah, it sounds like the mini map can be toggled, according to streamers/reviewers who got to play a demo of the game.
My biggest worry is that it won’t have Pachisi!
I'm annoyed there is no Collector's Edition upgrade for Steam versions.
I think I'm gonna have to skip Thanksgiving this year to play this!?
Thankfully here in Canada Thanksgiving is at the beginning of October haha
@@dukey03 Canada celebrates Thanksgiving? Weird I thought only America celebrates that... No offense.
@@thefirstofthelastones8952 Haha yeah dude! Technically Canada had their first Thanksgiving before the USA did; but it was originally an old ass English celebration. There are a few countries that have a Thanksgiving Day.

Wait are there NO DIAGONAL WALKING SPRITES??? that shit is so distracting
It does make it look kinda slippery
@@dukey03 Especially considering there's been diagonal walking sprites since DQ7 on PS1 back in 2000, feels like a very odd omission.
Geeze man... That Special Edition is $200 and it mostly just comes with plastic standies... Am I missing something? Convince me to spend my money because I can't for that... Maybe if it was $100, but $200... I could buy a whole special edition switch lite with that kind of money. I must be missing something, because even the digital stuff is like $5 worth of content.
Yeah at the end of the day it’s up to each individual as to whether it’s worth it or not.
Map markers:(
Someone HAS mentioned you can toggle them off. I don’t know if that’s been confirmed or not yet.
@@dukey03 I hope so.
It’s not a deal breaker or anything.
But for me, it definitely lessens the experience.
@@GCYorda It’s ALWAYS better when stuff is optional
So the party doesn't matter? No bonding? Like with the first Octopath.
Yuck. That sounds like the FF2 password thing. 🤮
If the monster master can tame playable monsters, I'll buy it ASAP. If not, then it's just another human-sue pile of garbage to add to the heap.
Uh the ppl who all ready gotten their hands on and made vids answered almost all your questions and thoughts pn classes, voices, personalities, areas, minmap etc etc.
Over half of those people have never played any other version of the game before; so they aren’t really able to properly compare it to pervious versions. What I did to prepare for this video; is watched a ton of their videos and wrote everything down. A lot of them missed things that others would notice, and I’ve yet to see one that noticed the Monster Master class as the new vocation.
Toriyama would definitely be ashamed of this game.
