      I like an additional layer of safety. I often shoot a CZ DA/SA gun. Prior to holstering, I'll decock, and then the thumb goes on the hammer. If the trigger gets caught, I'll feel the hammer drawing back.
      If not my CZ, then it's a 1911 with a thumb safety. Prior to holstering, I'll engage the thumb safety but still do the hitch of the hip.
      Adam's classes are superb in that safety is emphasized throughout. I know that any Defenders-USA class I attend will always stress safety first and foremost.
