The biggest thing I'm noticing is how intentional you are with pointing the firearm. I've noticed a few YT videos showcasing the new VP9A1, but they're less intentional on the firearms safety. Bravo!
@@clintharris1898, thank you and I sure try to be intentional. A gun treated with less careful regard than deserved is a scary, irresponsible thing and I don’t want to allow that seen by others as acceptable. Thank you for noticing, my friend.
I've never owned a HK. I have a Berrtta APX A1 compact that I carry. Thats the same size as a Glock 19. I like it and it's very reliable. I've never tried a HK and my local indoor range doesn't have one to rent. I'm going to ask them to get a VP9k to rent to test drive and see. They currently have 15 different pistols to rent at $15 a day. Thanks for the review.
As a hammer fired gun guy, I started my preference for having full and compact models with the HK USPs. I have done the same with Beretta PX4 full and compact (Not the SC!) And others. Having similar ergonomics, manual of arms, interchangeable mags and parts are very real advantages.
The interchangeability is such a good thing to have. We actually tested this out on the range, finding the uppers and lowers of both the F & K can be interchanged, which is just cool and allows for more options. They shoot great that way too.

I’m a big HK guy and I’m a big Glock guy one of the things that I noticed in the gun industry for over 10 years. Everybody shits on the Glock everything‘s better than the Glock now I will say these newer guns have better economics and more features glock does need to step up in that department I will say that There’s a reason the glock is used around the world and in military and law enforcement HK is used too, but as far as the handguns, go the Glock dominates the space and think about it. Glock only makes handguns. They don’t make no other firearms and they still dominate the space and that for a good reason because it’s a very good firearm but I also love my VP 9
Glocks are good, reliable guns. I carried one on duty for over a decade and could absolutely rely on it. I love how the stock HK feels better and shoots easier for me straight out of the box.
They dominate because they're cheap for law enforcement. Yes, they're reliable. That is all they have over other manufacturers. The triggers feel horrible before you ever even shoot the thing. The grips are horrible. They're reliable and cheap.
I too am a GLOCK fan been carrying a Glock for over 30 years. I also like HK guns and love the new Echelon. Glock is still the king and most popular Pistol ever.
1000% correct - Glock and HK are the guns for users, I can’t stand the others - all marketing, radical changes every few years - Rose? Spartan? Spectre? Grip zones? Weird names…. My Glock 19, VP9 and P30L give me 95% of the performance of my Wilson 1911’s and my EDC X9 for a fraction of the cost. Nothing wrong with S&W’s, Hellcats, Prodigies, Stacatto’s, the 459,000 versions of the P320’and 365 but I prefer guns with no weird names and no radical changes every few years. HK’s are the best guns made, for serious people, Glock is next and all the rest are just good guns with heavy marketing and hype - no thanks.
If your going to make claims vs Glock G19, fire the Glock back to back. Then descripe the differences. The HK VP9's are all about Ergonomics Ergonomics Ergonomics. Best in the industry.
I shot the G19 for many years, and carried Glocks on duty for over a decade. It's a good gun but having fired it so much, and often shooting students Glocks in my classes, I'm quite familiar with the G19 all G variants. I just don't have much interest in shooting them much more and truly enjoy the ergonomics and shootability of my VP's.
Thought the same till I tried different size side panels. Slightly palm filling and and more surface on the other. Stippling, tapes...all goes on without being permanent.
@@X_USSR_Soldier completely agree, practice with the gun you have. If you can and are willing to try out a VP9, many truly enjoy them and quickly realize the value. The triggers and ergonomics on an out of the box VP9 is so good compared to a stock Glock that we do find new shooters do better overall with a VP than a stock Glock. @@defenders-usa great content. Hopefully can find them for a little cheaper once there out for awhile. Considering the Glock aimpoint collaboration COA is similar in price and includes the optic. Would love to see that review happen.
Glocks NEED aftermarket parts. They're pretty reliable. That is all. If they're so perfect, why does the aftermarket matter so much? Glock is the reason people think 40S&W guns don't last. They broke. H&K designed their 40S&W guns around the more powerful cartridge. They last forever. Glock had a string of guns that self destructed. H&K has had no such issues.
@@Lexicologist1971 It's not GLOCK that pushes aftermarket products. It's the Aftermarket sellers that push their products they claim make Glock's better which is not always truefully.
@Lexicologist1971 Who said glock is perfect??? Not me! Most all REAL, serious shootings tinker with there guns. It's tougher with HK because they don't have the support. Glock does because it's a proven platform. That's why every manufacture has been trying to copy it. Glock isn't just pretty reliable, it's the standard and has been for decades . I have HK pistols. P30 and a VP9. I've have parts in HK break and parts in Glock. I'm just saying it's much; much easier getting the parts I want and need at an affordable price with Glock. I shoot 25k rounds a year. @@c_shadow_man still, as a guy who has extensively run both the Glock’s and HK, I’ve truly come to appreciate the feel and shoot ability of these guns over the Glocks.
Honestly they’re not actually all that expensive. They’re marginally more expensive than a Glock. The magazines are more expensive than Glock, yes. But to say that they’re too expensive or require a significantly higher buy-in I think is false. If you want to talk expensive - look at the buy-in within the realm of modern 1911 and 2011’s.
