    The sachet that you sprinkled on kebob and rice was sumac. It is a middle eastern spice with citrus-y, sour flavour.

    Mike, you need a thermal food bag (like delivery bags) for your own personal use, so you can keep your food hot while you set up your shot.

      Mexicans mostly use flour tortillas for burritos and quesadillas. When you have a plate of food to eat it is usually done with corn tortillas. But you can use either and nothing will happen. : )

    Broken Mouth is a play on a common phrase here in Hawaii. "Broke Da Mouth" is local slang for something so tasty your mouth not going to work for a while.

    The spice you put on your kebab is called sumac. It is in the same family of plants as poison ivy and has a lemon like taste to it. It was also meant to go on the rice btw...but no big deal. Sumac grows wild in many places although most people do not know what it is. It is very popular in Persian food which is why in Toronto (where I live) you can often see Iranian people on the side of one of our highways picking it.

    OMG... that egg @3:33 oozing onto the chilaquiles, and that sizzling queso fundido. This is exactly what I wanted today for breakfast, but I didn't know it until now... lol. Only way this gets better is if Jessie makes it into the video in Vegas.

    That fundido reminded me of this local mexican restaurant in gadsden, alabama called Don Bigotes. It has a dish called the Molcajete Mexicano. Its fantastic. Steak, shrimp, chicken, chorizo, ribs, topped with cheese, some green onions with a side of beans and rice. All while its still sitting in that hot stone bowl. Its amazing. If you're ever in the birmingham, alabama area, look up Don Bigotes!

      Cheese have very little to no lactose. Parmasan has 0.0 per 40g
      Cheddar has 0.04 per 40

      Most of the lactose in cheese gets eaten by bacteria during fermentation. I'm moderately lactose intolerant, but cheese is no problem. Drinking a glass of milk? big problem....

    I am a foodie.. I love Mexican food, Asian food, and I love thanksgiving day food.. And only homemade buttermilk biscuits with gravy made with bacon drippings made some sweet little grandma, which I am a grandma.. Love watching you go to all those great food places..

    Currently, in L.A. people are sleeping on Cambodian, Peruvian-Chinese, and Ethiopian food, imo. Maybe next time you can check out these cuisines in L.A. b/c it is so worthwhile to do so.

    The powder from the kabob place is called sumac. It’s use in many middle eastern countries. Next time your in LA go to Rafi for the best Persian kabob and definitely eat it there! Also try other Persian dishes they aren’t spicy but very flavorful.

    Fonda Don Chon is probably my favorite restaurant in Covina. I've enjoyed the lunch buffet on numerous occasions. Now, though, with Mike's review it may be crowded now. Edit: Forgot to mention, the corn tortillas are handmade and quite tasty. I like the flautas.

    So the ground-up, red spice that you placed onto your Iranian kebabs is called sumac/sumagh/sumak. It's a citrusy dried fruit of the sumac flower (I forget the more proper name). In my home country we place it on flatbreads and salads, and our neighbor countries mix it with meat and meze/appetizers like hummus. Super good!

    Mikey is 100% bang on...you know how good the Mexican restaurant will be based solely on the chips n salsa...if that isnt great you know they cant cook!

I just missed my favourite Banh Mi restaurant cause they closed due to covid but we got lots - and glad you had it here and one bite’s for me, and I love Persian food (Vancouver has lots of ‘em)! 😋😉💪

      @@merrymoyers1820 Look again, there is no line, yes they were folded, that's it. They don't have the "leathery" look like corn tortillas here in the US, they look more soft and fluffy like I get in Mexico 10 miles from me.

    I'm based in the UK and i just googled the restaurant "Broken Mouth" and the chicken Sandwich mickey's eating at 15:15 mins costs $12.50 (that cant be right? seems very cheap. works out at around £9 - BARGIN) 👍 👌

    The best beef item and wagyu I’ve ever eaten was in hamburg format (in Japan). I was shocked it was 100x better than the steak. 😱🐮

      As an Australian, I struggle to think of anything high end and unique to Australia (the extent of food I can think of is fish and chips, meat pies, and miscellaneous foodstuffs like lamington or fairy bread)

      @@iiiivvvv9986 what you mentioned is a definite must try Kangaroo, Crocodiles bush grub and he does try out Asian, dishes because different countries has its own twist style and flavour not to mention McDonald’s down under version, Hungry Jacks, Red Rooster, Orporto, local bakeries, cheese cake shop and the bufffets etc.
      Plenty to try out.

    fonda don chon is one of my favorites. If you want the ultimate chilaquiles, you need to get them at anelpalco's cafe in orange. They have a second location in Anaheim. It's one of the best breakfast dishes that you would ever have.
