This theory is very similar to one i have had for months: I belive Wu's old bamboo staff was the dragon icon for the impirium source dragon, and Raz used it to summon the source dragon and capturing it, causing the merge. Evidence: -After season 7, we never saw his bamboo staff again. This might mean that it got lost in time, into the future in impirium for lord ras to find. -His staff important already as it led to the realm crystal. Also, another thing i noticed is in the tomb of TFSM, there is a room that looks like a portal gate room from the temple in the tournament of sources.

Here’s my theory but its probably wrong and I don’t have much proof this is just a wild guess: In march of the oni season Lloyd destroyed the realm crystal and the oni travelled through the crystal as well, the crystal can take you to any of the realms but maybe because Lloyd destroyed it with the sword of sanctuary he probably destabilised everything but it took time to work.
The realm crystal isnt really that important though since its only function was travel between the realms which we know that dragons are capable of doing or we re since now they re all merged toghether but it would be cool if the oni have some connection
