      @@og-greenmachine8623 Honestly im just lookin to build one simple setup, from what I can understand from youtube, is that it works essentially like, u flip switch, then fluid from the pump runs to the cylinders which lowers or raises car. Cylinders are connected to hose running to pump which is powered by batterys. Switch is flipped and boom its lowered or raised

      @@dapplesauce6999 I'd consider the problem with lowriders to be the stabiltiy of components. The weakest part breaks first and you must know where to reinforce the frame etc..

    Lowrider culture is like the opposite of race culture. "Then you add 200 pounds worth of batteries to power the 400 pounds of hydraulic systems so that the car can hop!"
    But really though I enjoy living vicariously through other people so I can appreciate a well done lowrider.

      Michel Johnson there are several possible causes, I would first look everywhere around the car to see if you have a leak anywhere, if you do, fix it. Second, a bad check valve could be the cause. Third, trash in your fluid that is getting caught in your dump valve or check valve causing it to stay open just a little, if that is it, you have to drain the tank and pull the tank off, wipe it out the best you can to remove any trash.

    What's the difference between 6 prong and 3 prong switches. Can I use a 6 prong to 3 wheel or do I have to use a 3 prong switch. Also is it possible to do a standing 3 wheel with a 2 pump 8 battery setup in a 64 impala

    • @LOWRIDERHYDRAULICS
      @LOWRIDERHYDRAULICS  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Michael Mckay 3prong switch is made to run one pump up and one dump down, 6 prong is meant to run 2 pumps up and 2 dumps down, however can be used for just one up and one down. I have another video about wiring that may help better. It is completely possible to have a standing 3 wheel with a 2 pump. I'll post an in depth video today to answer those specific questions. Stay tuned.

      To answer your other question, yes it is possible to have standing 3 with 2 pumps 8 batteries. We just did one with that exact setup. What you have to do is make sure to put 4 batteries on each side, make sure you cut out the tunnel for the drive shaft to be able to go through, have individual wheel switches, replace factory banana bar in the rear suspension with a Y bar so the rear end can swivel, the factory banana bar restricts it from moving the way the it needs to in order to 3 wheel, lift the front all the way up, lift the back all the way up, drop one back corner. That should do it. Assuming your running 12s or larger in the rear. If running 14s or larger, you'll need to probably go with a wish bone and consider getting extended trailing arms, thats what I've done on mine but I'm running 20 inch cylinders on my impala, and before you ask, my impala is still being worked on and I don't have videos yet. I will post them someday but I have a ton of work to do. Hope that helps Michael.

    Nice set up. Question if the car was suspended without the tires touching would the hydraulics pull the tires up?

    • @chrishernandez2490
      @chrishernandez2490 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I dont think so. Not an expert about lowriders but I do know about hydraulics. This is what I think. when you lower (dump) any part of the suspension, whats happening is that you're releasing pressure. Pretty much a valve opens and the weight of the car puts pressure on hydraulic suspension allowing the fluid to be released, which in turn will lower the car.

    • @LOWRIDERHYDRAULICS
      @LOWRIDERHYDRAULICS  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      fuzzy wuzzy it's a mixture of a few things, my slow downs could be opened more, the rims and tires are a big factor, Springs are cut pretty low so the truck will sit low on 20s, weight distribution is a factor because it is a truck with no weight in the rear to help it seesaw like cars do. When I built the truck it was only meant to be a little cruiser, not a hopper at all, just a toy, had one when I was 17 with Hydraulics and wanted another while I finish my Impala. If I really wanted it to hop, I'd add two more batteries because the pump can handle it, change the rims to some wires and put about 80 psi in the tires, add a little more weight to the back, open the slow downs, change out the Springs to a fuller stack and then roll out. But like I said, it's just a toy, I have my Impala to go crazy with.
