    Jay!!!!! I remember when this car was in LRM! I had pages of that issue plus many many more i had ripped from the magazine taped to my Bedroom wall (drove moms and pops crazy) lol. Your Caprice,"Gypsy rose,The "Santana", and "Not Guity (just to name a few) are the reason i feel in love with lowriding!!! Truly love this car.

    Hi Car Guys New England, I have been a fan of Lowriders since I was a kid and always wondered how they worked. Thanks for the video.
    I have two questions
    1. Can one use or find 48V motors for the pumps that pumps the fluid at the same pace to avoid damaging the 12V motors and solenoids making the components last longer and minimizing risk.
    2. Can you make a video where you hit the switches and show which cylinders they effect and how to make the car hop? (Front to back left to right three wheel hopping etc.)

    Thanks for the introductory video, I was thinking of placing some hydraulics in a shopping cart, you heard that right a shopping cart. Art. What kind of parts would i need?

    thanks for the great introductory video. i've been a fan of lowriders since i was a jit and am thinking about starting my first lowrider build. this video explained everything in a simple manner. what would you recommend as a starter set up - 2 pumps, 4 batteries or 3 pump, 6 batteries? a friend from LA recommended the 3 pump 6 battery set up as my first set up but im interested in what you would recommend. thanks again

    So the car will have no shock absorber anymore after putting hydraulics on? Just the springs with the hydraulic cilinder on top of it?

    • @carguysnewengland
      @carguysnewengland  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Correct. I’ve seen some people keep their rear shocks in but they just end up broken eventually. You can weld shock brackets on the frame and lower control arms up front but it’s going to kill hopping action

    I just got a 64 impala (4door)
    I just have a few questions, I’m seriously considering hydraulics
    1- I’m a beginner. I want to do front back, side , side and 3 wheel motion.
    I read below that 2 pump 4 dump would work for that?
    Also, what are the cons of hydraulics? I’ve read they leak. Do they go bad? Will I ever have to replace the entire set up? And what maintenance do I need to do to the hydraulics if any?
    Thank you, again awesome video.

    • @carguysnewengland
      @carguysnewengland  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Marco you’ll need to charge batteries which can take a bit, you will get leaks and occasionally need to change cylinder seals, hoses ect. As far as maintenance changing the hydraulic fluid yearly and wiping out the tanks inside of metal bits. That’s all the fun stuff.

    Nice video brotha can u explain a lil more on what u mean when you went to raise the car and something went out the back window?

    • @carguysnewengland
      @carguysnewengland  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Alejandro Sosa the collar that is threaded onto the cylinder body worked its way apart. When I went to lift the car instead of lifting the car the cylinder body went through the rear deck and out the back window

    I dont know much of anything about lowriders but im curious why they use so many pumps and simple on off dump fluid and not something like solenoids in manifold it could have a electric pump and resivor than you could still have switches like on wheel lift uses ive never seen anything multi pumps like a boss v plow thats one pump several functions

  • @himmatbahia378

    The hydraulics should be kept up or all the way down when parking the vehicle for a week or so??? or does it not matter ?

    • @carguysnewengland
      @carguysnewengland  7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Himmat Bahia drop the car down. It's bad for cylinder seals, dump seals and our hoses leaving the car up... otherwise you may come back to a mess. Also it's much safer to leave the car down as you could crush children or animals that may go u dear the car.

    What if you were to put a pelteir module the back of the hydraulic motor to keep it cool. Or also known as tech it gets hot on one side and cool on the other their use in computer and mini refrigerator U should look if up computer water cool system.some drop down to 17 digrees

    • @carguysnewengland
      @carguysnewengland  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends on your own experience... have you ever had a car with hydraulics? A simple two pump 4 dump system is good for beginners. F-B-S--S

      Car Guys New England yes I'm a beginner thats why i appreciate your info ! Would I need to reinforce the frame ?

    • @carguysnewengland
      @carguysnewengland  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you plan to hop or three wheel then yes absolutely reinforce the frame... also GM cars have a huge issue with the rear frame ears tearing off the frame... that will happen regardless eventually

    Can you put hydraulics on a FWD

    • @montieljuan9571
      @montieljuan9571 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes

    • @Engineer9736
      @Engineer9736 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m fantasy’ing about hydraulics on my car (ford focus lol), also fwd, but i guess even if it would get mounted properly, that the jumping and extreme joint movements will mess everything up month after month. Fwd cars already have quite a complex mechanism at the wheels to allow for steering movement & the drivetrain to pass through. If you go launch your car in the air and let it bounce nonstop i’m pretty sure stuff is going to break nonstop.
