    Which build are you choosing? The 4" Lift on 35s? Or the Portals on 38's? See how they flex at 9:37 before you cast your vote...

    • @gustavovasconcelos4372
      @gustavovasconcelos4372 22 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I'd say switch back to a 2" lift on the 2015 (I understand it had it and 33s when it appeared on theTFL video); and add 37s or 38s to it, coupled with very liberal fender cutting + custom flares (to keep it looking somewhat stock-ish and professional, in line with your approach to modding these vehicles) 😎😬
      Do you think the stock axles/drivetrain would be up to it? Are they comparable to a Dana 44, strength-wise? I'd guess they are even stronger.🦾🦾
      Anyway, I'd love to see it! Pretty sure I'm not the only fan of big-tire LCG (Low Center of Gravity) builds around here 😅😅

      Hell yeah dude. I was just out wheeling with a G63 2 weeks ago. First thing I'd do is rip those side steps off and get some rock rails. Then an MBRP high clearance exhaust. If you just did that and tires you'd be ready to rip and fix the 3 weakest links. Then it's lift + armor + more! Enjoy it and I can't wait to see what you do with it.

      I spent lot of time researching Gs and finally settled on the Normally aspirated 2015 G550 as they started going turbo from 2016 and eventually lost the solid front axle too. 😄. Driven by a mom and was barely broken in.

    Portals take care of so many parameters....gearing, lift and clearance all at the same time. Looking at the units driving through the moguls I would suggest increasing the rear spring rate by about 200 lbs/in....this would help with front end articulation whether the sway bar is connected or not. Disconnect the front sway bar and you'd gain a nice bit assuming the shocks, brake lines and drive line allows it. Awesome trucks, looking forward to more content on the G-Wagons.

      Yo! Welcome to the channel and thanks for the comment. Although in theory that'd be great, it's it possible at the moment. The only lifts available are 2 and 4 inch.
      And the absolute only way to fit 35s thats been done so far is with a 4".
      It is possible to squeeze a 34 in a 2 inch.
      But could be worth playing with the idea. I'm going to research and see. And I do believe the axles could hold up to 37s 💪

    Can such a suspension that is on the black G wagon be put in a G Wagon that doesn't have a front solid axel? And what are your thoughts about a diesel G Wagon. They are more economical. Thanks. Love the channel. Keep on uploading. Love to see how the a triple locked wagon takes on the off-roads.

      The portals on the black G would not work on a newer model with independent front suspension, but there are kits available that would work.

    After building and wheeling a 2016 G63 (4” lift, 35s and some other mods) I went back to Jeep and bought a 392. Sorry, but no G Wagon matches a 392 other than the “look at me I’m in a G” factor. Cool rigs, hope they work out for you.

    • @gwheeln
      @gwheeln  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yo dude. Appreciate your comment. 392a are amazing rigs. Glad you found what kicks butt. There's no doubt that a 392 could be even more purpose built for crawling. It's an incredible platform and a huge aftermarket.
      I respectfully would have to argue the "hey look at me" factor. That's not why I drive one. Its the sense of occasion, history, build feel, etc. There's nothing else like it.
      In Colorado, you could wheel 95% of the trails in the state on a 2" lift and 33s are darn near anything, so your options are endless.
      At the end of the day - wheeling is about having fun. Exploring. Having a sense of occasion. And a love for driving. At least for me. But everyone is motivated by different things.
      I would love to hear a more detailed omparioson of your G to your 392. Thanks for the comment dude!

    Loving the new channel and content, man! It's great to see another Coloradoan ripping up some fun trails!
    You're making me deliberate on whether i should be buying a g wagon rather than a gx460 as my next vehicle 😆

    • @gwheeln
      @gwheeln  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Thank you for the support my dude (and fellow Coloradoan). The GX460 is a great vehicle. I did have a GX470 a few vehicles before this. Although I loved it, it doesn't compare to the G. The G has better angles, more power, similar fuel economy but with far more power, solid axles, more character, and a LOT more fun to drive. My 4" lifted G on 35s has less body roll than my 2" lifted GX470 in the corners. Plus, the G is triple locked from the factory.
      If you have a family to haul around, or if you're primary use is on pavement, the nod goes to the GX460.
      But if your end goal is offroad capability and fun, the G is hard to beat.
      Go drive both back to back and you'll have your answer.
      If you haven't watched this video yet (about why the G wagon's are NOT luxury), I would recommend you take a peek: th-cam.com/video/z4-1NPd34dg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=QXiLf6SrQrHKsdAh
