  • Armored SUVs are enjoying great popularity. Brabus, a company based in Bottrop, Germany, transforms standard G-Class models into fully armored special protection vehicles. The combination of full armor, made of hot-forged steels, and special glazing gives the colossal car the certificate of protection class VR6, which is mandatory for state limousines, for example. Our documentary presents the impressive vehicle fabrications and shows their special features.

    The yellow pen used on the fasteners is not only to show it's been tested. It's also a visual aid to easily inspect the car later on to see if vibration or other forces have twisted the fastner loose so it can fall off. They set a mark on the head of the fastener, then on the structure to where the fastener is anchored. If those do not line up, tightening of the bolt is needed. This way several years down the line a quick visual inspection will tell if thing still is tight or in need of tightening.

      Mady in Germany WAS a brand and sign of quality. Today it's long gone and everything you non-german people know is the marketing of it. Even here many germans are switching to other non german car brands more and more because they realize that others are as equally good or even better. You only buy a Mercedes, BMW and Audi for prestige or the look of the car not because of superior quality. Trust me on that.

    The front passenger door is not fully closed at 43:50min. This is a common occurrence during the use of armoured vehicles. I wonder if the vehicle's tech applies to such a crucial nuance and alerts the driver/co-driver. Aside from the risk of compromising the security in such a situation, there is a real risk of damaging door hinges, which, long term, compromises the liquid tightness of the vehicle

    If this company were to tell us EVERYTHING that goes into the build of these vehicles, the video would be 3 hrs long, and all their secrets would be out. That ain't happening folks, what we're watching is a very detailed (but incomplete) infomercial for their business. If I were a Brabus client, I definitely wouldn't want every terrorist group and shade-tree mechanic knowing more about my truck than I do ?

    So if anybody knows that this is an armored vehicle they'd be able to tell by the new branding, if you take away the Mercedes-Benz logo that's a dead giveaway right ? I would leave the Mercedes-Benz logos on it that way nobody would know the difference right ? Other than that, this vehicle is absolutely stunning, it looks tough but more importantly it is tough. Nicely done. This was a great documentary. You've got a new subscriber👍👍

    • @spdcrzy
      @spdcrzy ปีที่แล้ว

      Wrong. Brabus is considered a manufacturer, not a tuning company (at least by German Law). Same thing with Ruf. They're required by law to NOT use the Mercedes logo, because that would be considered false advertising. Most people would never recognize the logo anyway, and would just think it's a custom G63 AMG or something similar. That's the whole idea. It's conspicuous by nature, so by adding minimal bits of custom work on the outside, it defuses the attention that an armored car would otherwise bring.

    But I have a suggestion for improvement
    The safety exit is nice for passenger
    And should be open when it's needed to, but not for drone
    Coz that will be a great advantage for the ennimes, because as soon as u open the emergency exit for the drone, immediately if ur ennimes have knowledge of it, then he/she will immediately sent a greenheads into the emergency exit.
    My suggestion is that they should design a secret exit for the drone too, where it can take off and land easily, safely, and secretly.

    I would love to see a modern military version of the G class (something like the earlier worker models or "Wolfs") armored like this while maintaining its off-road capabilities. While the G63 is still called a "G-Class" (the G stands for "Gelände" which means off-road) it is more for posers than for actual use off road.

    • @augustusguap228
