    FYI for anyone who has these steps - if you unhook or replace your battery, make sure to remove the fuse before reconnecting the battery or your steps won't work. This video saved me from that (didn't know cause I didn't install them). Thanks guys!

    this video helped me. bought my 19 rebel from Volkswagen dealership and they didn't know how to activate them. told me to go to dodge dealership to help me. 2months I went with the running boards not activating. so today I went to the dodge dealership. set an appointment for next week. Decided I couldn't wait and looked for videos and came across yours and say it all. and we'll saw where it connected in the bottom of the steering wheel. so I checked and come to find out.... IT HAS BEEN DISCONNECTED ALL THIS TIME 😄 🤣 😂. Thanks for the video.

    Pulled the trigger on 2020 RAM LARAMIE today and was considering these. My biggest worry would be the wiring and popping off parts of the truck. Thanks for the great video guys. I'm sure I'll be watching it a few more times.

    im doing this on a 2021 ram 1500, and i think they must have reconfigured the wiring a little for this model year, i had no issues at all with repositioning the wiring harness bracket, i didnt have to unclip it from the frame, and there is no part of the wiring that's in contact with the edge of the frame anywhere it could rub. it was very simple to move the bracket

    Hey man just wanted to let you know I have the same kit and truck - 2020 ram rebel when I installed the steps moving the wire harness on that relocation bracket exactly the same way as you. My wire harness failed from rubbing against the frame where that hole is in the body melted my wires together and engaged my parking brake at 35 mph. I had to pay $3,629.43 to get everything fixed. Amp research will not take blame for this whatsoever. Check underneath where it is bent at a 90° angle and hope your wires aren't rubbing. This is a design flaw from amp and now my warranty is voided on a truck 4 months old

    • @Lethalgarage
      @Lethalgarage  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It should have depending on your model truck. It relocates the harness so the motor and steps clear

      @@Lethalgarage I spoke to AMP Research today. It turns out, they changed brands of motors they supply with the powersteps. The new ones are a lower profile and the relocation bracket is supposedly not needed anymore. Thats why it wasn't included in the packaging.

    Not true that they got it right on the 19 for amp research steps. There is actually 2 different amp kits you can purchase depending on what you want to spend or how much install effort you want to endure. They have a kit that is completely plug in play with no wire splicing or a wired in kit. I bought them for my 14 ram Laramie and went with the plug and play. I didn't have to tap into anything which is why I wanted the plug and play. The other optional kit was all direct wire splicing.
