Frany - $1578 is dirt cheap for a manual swap. There's clowns still asking $3000+ for Subaru sti 6-speed swaps .... Which are pieces of junk by the way 👎👎👎
Ming trying looking at gm 5 or 6 speed transmissions for muscle cars $$ at least double that number i keep talking my self in and out of the swap and I’m still not sure I’m going to do it dose have mpg saving and it’s probably faster than my 3 speed slush box plus I’ve had a manual transmission before in a different vehicle and I loved it except being a terrorist in Denver Colorado USA with heavy traffic and hills at stop lights
I love my IS300 to death and it’s in incredible condition, but I was considering selling it due to the fact that it’s an automatic. But now I’m inspired to do a manual swap! With the help of your videos I can definitely make this happen! Thank you!
2 years late but dude thank you so much for making this video. I have an auto is300 which i couldve sold to get a manual one instead. I just love my current one too much and this video is so helpful
Just secured all my swap parts. Only thing that was missing were the pressure plate bolts. About to memorize the step by step swap video so I can crank this out.
Quick question is it possible too swap the ECU off a manual to the automatic so the check engine doesnt pop up? Would it be plug n play or would you need the harness well?? Trying to pass sniff test here in Cali. Nice build and very informative straight to the point.
Keep up the good work👏 I am planning on getting a Lexus IS300 and I have been looking for manual swap videos for so long and I found this video. Very good in detail.
Where IN THE HELL did you find a complete W58 transmission with correct bell housing for $550? Asking for a friend. Do you know the mileage on that trans too?
I wouldn't worry much on mileage on a manual, I never seen a bad one, even with a boat load of miles on them, I got my W58 for $300. The guy who sold it to us was doing a 1JZ/R154 swap out on his NA W58 Supra, he was just happy to get some money for it and have it out of his garage, I did luck out on that one.
My dad did the same thing on his Supra, as long as you're running under 400 horse power the W58 works just fine. I have a Supra with a 7MGTE, use to be an automatic, I put a W58 on it 18 months ago, works great.
I got my W58 for $300, that one fell into my lap. The drive shaft has the same issues on the MKIII Supra's, I had to go with a single shaft all Aluminum custom made. I got my break/clutch peddles off ebay, found a guy parting out a MKIII Supra in his back yard, $50 for them and don't forget the hardware. Clutch master cylinder and slave I purchased at Advanced Auto, fluid line I got from the guy parting out the Supra on ebay, one thing I did over look and it delayed me a week or so was the bolts for the manual transmission flywheel, they're different from the Automatic flywheel. I had to go to Lexus to purchase a clutch fork, apparently Toyota dealerships are incapable of cross referencing part numbers from their Lexua line to the Toyota line. My clutch kit came from Advanced Auto, it works fine, I'm running a W58 and I'm not drifting. Damn I didn't even think about ARP flywheel bolts, I was going batshit looking for those bolts for two day before I found them on ebay. It cost me around $2000 because of the custom drive shaft, still came out cheaper than rebuilding the Automatic (reverse was going out on it) I took 6 months to find everything, I was able to take my time because those old Toyota automatic tranny's were built bullet tough, that was the original transmission in my 89 Supra and was never rebuilt, I have excellent service history on this car.
@@shnuzi9280 They sell the bell housings on ebay, you may be able to use the 2jz housing, if you have one give it a try, if not then play it safe and perches a new one off ebay that will fit.
Great vid. Appreciate the info. Do you happen to know where I could find any information(in english) about doing a 1uzfe v8 swap for the is300/altezza?
I got a 99 celica gt I live up north and I brought it from Arizona its rust free these cars are getting really rare, because of that and here its worth about 5k but if it was stick It would be worth 8k ima do the swap because it will make the car more fun lol
I hate how alot of people on the forms hate on the w58, they're pretty good transmissions & they can hold up a reasonable amount of power, plus they are better than the w55 😂
C Dubs well the outputs can vary depending on the series of w58 you get/have, the one bobby has is an mk3 w58 his can probably hold up to 400whp, 450whp will be pushing it, but I could be wrong. the w58 is the best bang for your buck if you got a jz & want/need a manual transmission
Yo bro love your videos and knowledge. I am building an sc300 small turbo build (300whp). It has the stock w58. I'm getting a lot of people saying I will blow up the trans. Even if I do it's not the end of the world but I would love to get few years of drift out of it. I plan to do a clutch kit uppgrade and basic maintenance on it. I heard your trans blew up. Do you think the w58 can last with low hp build or it's just that bad. Thanks for input

Nice! Gratz on the swap and ya man don’t see much is300 Manual anymore. Also you don’t see is250 manuals at all. I have a 07 is250 Manual with 108k on the clock & straight piped but I’m going to take it off straight and do a custom exhaust system when I’m rdy. @turbosicko to check it out
What bell housing did you use for the transmission?? W55? Or w58? I’ve been reading that they are not the same length and will affect the driveshaft you use.

how did it go? have u finished the swap yet?
dope dope dope no bull shit, delivered alot of information quickly. not to much horseplay subscribed
Just got an 01 is300 back in december. Been watching a lot of videos on it and it's really making me glad I got it.
Ayooo same
Bro about time we get an is300 channel 🙏🙏🙏 and you started off proper with the manual conversion which no one fucking does themselves just subbed

You never mentioned using the auto ecu works but your check engine light will be on with transmission codes. Good video though
You can still run it with the auto ecu but it's better to run the manual ecu to eliminate any codes.
Hard to find those in cali bro. I hella want to go with the w58 its to much out here. have to go with the cd009. Thanks for the content.
The budget king!!! Awesome video and congratulations on 7k and more to come!!!
Phill Faucie thanks bro!

BASITH PH thanks. Idk if you seen it yet but the video before this one was the actual manual swap video step by step.
VT BOBBY yea I’ve seen those very helpful because I am only able to find good deals on the automatics rather than manuals
hmmmm.....might consider just using an getting a beams blacktop engine/trans then.
The builds never end Breh, you should apply for a TH-cam partnership.
I have a 2JGTE and found a SC300 with no engine for sale....this is info I needed..R154 is better lol and dog box equals no clutch pedal
I see a brother I sub support the movement
about to buy a is300 and this will be the first thing i will do...
I'll do the exhaust at the same time lol
No the first thing you will do is the timing belt coil packs spark plugs and ect lol😅😅
_BSWG no lie first thing I had to was timing belt.

I put a W58 on the 1jz in my Supra - it cost a similar amount: Bellhousing £350 , flywheel £350 , clutch £240 , flywheel bolts about £8 each ....

When you did your swap with a w58 did you need a 1jz bell housing, he said you do but im pretty sure you can just use the w58 bell housing for the 2jz

So could I technically get junk yard parts or used new from the is 300 ? Or a donor is 300
absolutely
Respek dawg. Young nigga tryna get it.✊🏿
I can’t find the clutch set up you bought . Does it have to be w58? Or w55 clutch works to?
tryna manual swap my cressida. so far I got nada. w58s are so rare now.
Great vid. Appreciate the info. Do you happen to know where I could find any information(in english) about doing a 1uzfe v8 swap for the is300/altezza?
Ok thanks. The only one I remember coming across was an LSX swap, not the 1uzfe.
word up, defo helped me go in the right direction, good looks bro
Can anyone else give an opinion. Is $150 a good price for stock manual driveshaft?
Bobby your channel is legit my dude! Awesome quality and info, keep it up!
you forgot (also optional) steering wheel
Thank God I bought a Manual IS300!!!! whew, Dodged a pullet there. lol
My clutch sticks towards the top when releasing... what doo you think it could be causing that.?
You know how hard it is to find a damn manual and on top of that people are selling them for 8k and up!
@@Wafflecombo54 you can find few around 6k
Been here since 700 subs bro. You’ve come a LONG way. Keep the grind going brotha

Adrian Altezza exactly what I’m saying 🤷🏾♂️
Adrian Altezza how much power can w58 hold?
C Dubs well the outputs can vary depending on the series of w58 you get/have, the one bobby has is an mk3 w58 his can probably hold up to 400whp, 450whp will be pushing it, but I could be wrong. the w58 is the best bang for your buck if you got a jz & want/need a manual transmission
Adrian Altezza hm word I’ll probably just stick to getting a r154 lol
C Dubs you can find an r154 for cheap, mk3 supra turbo models come with them, if you can find a part out or one at a junkyard you hit the jackpot
U could have got a stage 4 competition clutch for 340 that’s what I have in my sc300
Watching your vids taught me a lot about cars

Good job I have the same is 300 but now have a is 350 too .💯💯💯🇯🇲
What about the ECU.. also do u need new CV’s and diff?
i just got an auto is300 auto going .why the gauge cluster swap out sir ? thanks be blessed Jesus is king
thats cheaper than going to a shop. Normally the swap cost like 6500 for an is300 and the gs300
Stay movin up bro done watched u grow from the jump. Keep shit real and stay giving me ideas and tips for my IS
What year is your is300? If it's not a 2001. Will I need a manual ECU, wiring harness, and the key that is mapped to the ECU?
I wanna swap my own IS200, and your format is neat. Keep up the good work, man.
Now time to boooost!!
I'm getting my license soon and want an IS300, do you think it's a good idea to manual swap it while in high school 😂or getting a IS ?
Very informative video collection of manual swap.. thanks from Vancouver Canada.
If your boy is selling any more manual transmission let me know cuz I can't find one for my swap

Great channel. Keep it up, def. watching more and more of the channels.

I can't find a manual transmission for my is300
How do I find the driveshaft?.... do I need to search for a Toyota soarer or MKIV supra or something?
I’m trying to do a manual swap too are the parts you mentioned in this video the only parts you would need for the swap?̊̈
What is the drivetrain? I am getting an auto Is300 today and would like to do a swap on it
Thank you man!
Did you keep using the auto ecu?
what is the name of the end song???
what's the ecu situation? is the auto ecu throwing codes?
Didn't mention center console

VT BOBBY okay well any idea on what I should use for a drive shaft? I got a full mk3 engine and transmission swap to throw in.
VT BOBBY okay cool that’s what I was thinking, was hoping it wouldn’t change anything, thanks for the help and have a good day!
William Turner no problem
Did you keep your xtd clutch kit for the 1jzed swap?
Keep up the great work bobby, always coming in clutch with the afternoon videos. I can definitely see you becoming a HUGE youtuber, 🔥🔥🔥
Jayson Torres thanks Bro
which transmissions from other cars are ok to swap into manual into is300? i heard that from a nissan 350z it is plug and play?
It definitely would not be plug and play. There are adapter kits out there for around 1500. The bellhousing would no doubt be different.
Subscribed!!!!! Great content man
Labor cost? Hrs it took to take out old and swap
How much it came out to all together?
You got yourself a new sub bro 🤫💯
Did you throw any CELs when you switched from auto to manual? I will likely be doing this swap on an 01 in the near future...
Yes you will. Only way to avoid it is to swap the harness and ecu to the manual ones
Thanks man!
Congrats bro 🔥
Young Vendetta thank you
Do you live in south Florida?
Do you think the process is the same if I swap the CD009 on my is300 with my automatic bell housing and adapter?
I have a is300 and want to do the swap.... I have a donor will I need the the end and harness off the the is300??
New sub !!! +1 love the build
Question, with do you need to change the gauges???
Did you have to exchange the tail housing on the w58 with a w55 tail housing? I just got an sc300 w58, but the forums say something about a tail housing from the w55 to get it to work
Is this the same for a gs300 ?
Why not cd009? Aren't they pretty cheap
Jackstinn the gearing is all wrong for an IS300, the cd009 really do best with lower numerical final drive ratio rear ends.
I’m thinking of doing a manual swap but I might have to pay someone to help me 😪
Great info. Thank you, sir! Subbed
Any issues with the clutch?
Congrats on 7k my dude!!
Kyle H thank you
Do you think right hand and left hand brake pedal or clutch pedal match each other
Global Inc no they’re different
What if youre going to use 3SGE driveshaft.... is it gonna fit ?
jefferson bagain i heard it does
Respekt form Poland. I subscribe you because you make a good job with your car. 👊👍
Dawid Wróblewski thank you 🙏🏾
link to the other clutch cable?
Question did u have to do anything with the harness going from auto to manual?
Harness and ECU from a manual version is needed to keep the CEL off. Got that from a reply he did on a similar question as yours.
