I appreciate that you show (as best as you can) all of the work being done and then you immediately explain what you just did and what you are going to do. It really simplifies the "tutorial" aspect of the video.
The W58 and W55 use same OEM throw out bearing. I think difference in yours was Koyo vs NSK (OEM). I noticed this on my swap, new one was the NSK, the one last owner had with W55 and ACT was a Koyo, same dimensions but different style.
Just got my driveshaft from Xcessive yesterday, wired up the emulator step by step after printing out ur diagram 🙏🏽🙏🏽💛 hoping to finish in a couple days
Ay I’m glad to hear it’s going smoothly and I’m glad to hear the diagram helped 🥲. Good luck with the rest of the swap! If you got any questions, I’m more than willing to put in my few cents :)
Hey I just noticed that the pilot bearing may not have been in all the way which is probably why it took so long to get the transmission in. It takes a considerable amount of force to seat the pilot right at the back of the crank which you ended up doing by bolting the transmission before it was fully mated.
Was it hard to slide the driveshaft in ? My driveshaft just game in and I’m trying to slide it in but it only goes in like an inch. I got the tripod w58 but I don’t think that makes a difference
You should have just rotated the crank when stabbing the trans in. You will more than likely have premature clutch failure the way you forced the trans to mate up like that.
Trust me, we tried that and everything else you can think of before resorting to pulling it in with the bolts. That’s why it went from day time to straight dark outside lmao
I tried this too spinning crank got the splines to line up and go in, it’s the last 1/2” that impossible even with an OEM pilot. I snapped it into the clutch and everything lined up but wouldn’t go any further due to dowel pins. The input shaft is tapered so it will self align and get into the pilot since the clutch alignment tool already centers everything.

Damn you guys make me feel like I can do my own R154 swap on my GS 400.. this is so sick
Thanks!

Correct me if I’m wrong but I believe it’s actually different because the w55 uses a dual mass flywheel and the w58 uses a single mass

its been a year, is that rear main still leaking cause you didnt do the housing? just curious, no shade
Zero leaks :)
Not good idea to lubricate oil seal rear
We didn’t soak the outter edge, just made it a little most so it doesn’t rip but it was firmly installed and should spin after
