    I bought the bar recently and it is fantastic! I have shoulder and elbow problems and it is much easier on my joints. It is pricy but I would rather invest in good bars than any other part of my home gym. I have an inexpensive rack and plates but went all out for specialty bars. Great job on the channel Coop.

      Weld a gusset directly onto the bar where it makes contact on the j cup. Cos u dnt want to grind a flat spot . Or even 2 gussets. To give stabillity both ways. .. that way its 4 points of contact and not just 2

    3:05 - The Kadillac bar (and swiss bars, in general) is actually helpful for those with shoulder issues! Just ask Joe DeFranco.
    If you are worried about the increased range of motion, there are a few things you can do.
    # 1) Use resistance bands (from above) and employ the 'future method' - th-cam.com/video/ceIaAc8IV3w/w-d-xo.html
    # 2) You can try to 'flip' the Kadillac bar over so that the 'arc' touches your chest sooner, shortening the range of motion.
    # 3) strap a pad (or a benchblokz) to the Kadillac bar to simulate a board press and reduce the range of motion, as desired.

  • @OfficialMarkZuckerberg
    @OfficialMarkZuckerberg 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    There is alot of reasons that make this bar worth buying that werent covered, no fault to GGR but I would recommend watching the Kabuki video explaining the engineering behind it. They talk about why the handles are angled and explain how the handles are above center of the weight for stability (which is why it flips). TLDR, it might be higher in price but theres a good reason and its worth it
    .

  • @sverrewilson870
    @sverrewilson870 5 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    Looks to me like you don't really get much more ROM because of the 2cm or 3/4" lip on both sides (the frame) which makes the ROM shorter had it been straight, and it doesn't bend that much unless you use the outer handles.

  • @HisDivineShado
    @HisDivineShado 5 ปีที่แล้ว +10

    If you're buying Kabuki are you really worried about price to the point you'd be ok with bolting on the sleeves?

    • @TheJdangle
      @TheJdangle 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah and remove the laser cut kabuki name to save some money. Machining the holes to bolt the sleeves on is probably more expensive than welding it. Titan has a similar bar for 170. I’ll go with that. This bar is worth 300 dollars tops.

      @@zfortyounce Brian Alshrue shows a way to do fronts with wrist straps. Wrap them like you would for your wrists but wrap it around the bar. And you hold them to keep the bar in the front rack. It's effective. I am proficient in Oly lifting and for cleans you need to be able to get into that front rack position. It's not pleasant getting your hands and wrists to bend that way. Took me the better part of a year to get "comfortable". But with cleans you don't need to hold multiple reps like on front squatting. So even being used to it from cleans front squatting hurts like hell.

    This review misses two things:
    1. The assumption that this bar will only be used for pressing, so lack of knurling isn't a concern. Why are you so sure? I agree pressing is the most obvious and common use. But rows would be a super useful exercise with this, for both the neutral grip variation and the extra ROM afforded by the camber. You could also do things like hammer curls and tricep extensions. All of these would greatly benefit from knurled handles.
    2. You only compare this bar to other flat swiss/football bars.To say its the best you can buy of its type, you should compare against other cambered options.

    • @prince0fsains
      @prince0fsains 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is a poor review at best, if you can call it that. This feels more like a plug. I'll address the topics you brought up, anyways.
      1. The diameter of the handles is 1.25" / (almost) 32mm. I have one of the first elitefts swiss bars. The handles are about 33.6mm in diameter & crinkle coated. I'll go out on a limb & assume Duffin's coat is the same/simliar to what elite used. In my experience, the coating is enough provide proper grip. Just grab some chalk if you need more. The problem w/ adding knurled grips is 2 fold. First, doing that causes the production time to increase substantially. Second, the manufacturing time also increases. The bar is already overpriced at $400 + shipping. I'd be the price would be $500-$550.
      2. He should be comparing this bar to the elephant in the room, EliteFTS's American Cambered Neutral Grip Bar at $289 + shipping. Or the American Cambered Grip Bar... same bar, just different grip angles. What's interesting is that he says it's "BEST" when it's a tool & like any tool, it's to meet a need. If money were no object, I'd buy Duffin's bar, along with both from EliteFTS as I assume all have a different feel & can hit the movement in a different way, be it ROM, the angle of the grip, the "depth" of each grip position, etc.
