2024 Lok sabha election is a lesson for BJP. It must shed the high-command culture and develop local leaders. Its wrong decisions in UP and Maharashtra has cost dearly. There was absolutely no need for bringing in Ajit Pawar. BJP in Maharashtra was weighed down with another millstone around the neck.

    Excellent analysis DK Ji 👍
The Maharashtra state election is going to be interesting. It will show, how the momentum of the loksabha election, and the central politics thereafter, pan's out in Maharashtra.
    Some pertinent questions are,
    - Will the BJP really invest in the Maharashtra election or give up?
    - Will the central budget throw in more Revdi's at Maharashtra?
    - Will the Shinde Sena stick together?
    - Will the Pawar's come together?
    - How is the seat sharing going to develop in both camps?
Looking forward to follow up episodes DK Ji 🤔

good analysis though few items that I think need mentioning.
    1) BJP lost votes because of "no freebies", and voters not caring for infrastructure like sea bridge in Mumbai, which is a monumental achievement considering that it's been pending for decades
    2) considering that Sharad Pawar is in his 80s, this election will likely be his last too. what happens in post Sharad Pawer in state ?
    3) what happens if Congress gets more seats than Sena UBT and claims CM post ? where does that leave Sena UBT ? so, MVA winning too might leave Sena UBT not on high note.

Rule no. 1: Don't blame voters for your bad and failed strategies. The same voters had voted BJP with full majority in past two LS elections. Do an honest self-introspection and improve.
Rule no. 2: After supporting for 10 years, it is not wrong for voters to ask for ROI. Voters only care about infrastructure that actually makes a difference to their life. Not an infrastructure project that is just an eye candy. Metro project made a huge difference in everyone lives. But Atal Setu Bridge, not really. That project has a huge future potential, but as of today - it is not much use to large majority of people. Plus, don't expect common people to think like economists. You can launch as many Chandrayan and Mangalyaan as you may want, make as many smart strategic geo-political moves as you want, brag about sky-high GDP figures, etc. etc. But if I'm struggling to put food on the table and if I'm overburdened by taxes - sorry, you won't get my vote any further. Time for a change.
Whatever happens to Sharad Pawar will happen, but BJP made a complete strategic mess by importing Ajit Pawar and his bunch of '40 thieves' in its fold. You simply cannot blame someone of theft in one election and share bed with the same person in the next election. Sorry, you don't get to make a 🤡 out of common man. If UBT backstabbed people, then BJP too backstabbed people by importing Ajit Pawar. BJP lost the moral high ground this time.
For UBT, defeating BJP would be a much bigger prize than a token CM post. Because that will give him much needed oxygen to claw back a lot of his men and lost ground. Also, I don't think Congress High Command is very assertive about CM post in MH. They have largely resigned to Sharad Pawar to drive the show. I am 100% sure, SP will decide who becomes CM. Neither Congress, nor UBT.

Probably Rahul and his PR team has realised the success of Kejriwal and I am sure he is following his footsteps Lot of people will get attracted with this strategy.. as old saying goes that if 38% voted in govt favor then 62% voted for oppose .. The recent Lok Sabha mandate in Maharashtra is a combined result of anti BJP sentiment due to all the political gimmicks that were played in the state as well as the perception that all important industrial projects were being diverted to Gujarat. The BJP and Sena have been unsuccessful in building on Maharashtra's strength as an industrial state. When asked the question by Nana Patekar regarding this, the Deputy CM had answered that Maharashtra is the highest recepient of FDI ignoring the fact that Gujarat is the fastest growing economy in India. What industrialized state? It is a sugarcane lobby state. All the politicians own sugar mills, cooperative banks and an engg college. Sugar mills get tax money bailouts from the govt. Non-sugarcane farmers are deprived of water due to water-guzzling nature of sugarcane and the heavy usage by mills. This also causes drought in Vidarbha. Cooperative banks give loans to sugarcane farmers only. Sometimes, these banks like PMC bank collapse. And those who can't make any money in farming are trying to be engineers by giving donations to colleges. Total loot machinery by politicians.
Ruchir Sharma, the famous investor says, Maharashtra has fallen in ranking of GDP per capita among Indian states.

LS polls dealt a huge blow to Modi's invincible image and party's fortunes which were well poised and confident of coming to power again on a brute majority before the polls. The BJP has a lot of odds stacked against it in the coming round of elections. Just focusing on Maharashtra which is a crucial political state and a resource rich region saffron outfit is on a weak wicket with Maratha anger, local discontent, brewing factionalism within the state unit, lack of synergy among the alliances and lacklustre performance of the government and narrative to go to the masses with.

The BJP is more interested in other issues than in development. They seem to have forgotten why people kicked out the Congress ten years ago.

BJP has done more development in Maharashtra in past 10 years than Congress did in the previous 15 before that, mumbai metro alone accounts for most of the metro construction in India. MH has second most number of expressways being built after UP.

    1. What PM is right and yet what is being done BJP Govts is also right! But the difference is BJP Govts delivered the benefits without violating fiscal discipline unlike Congress or Communist Govts. So DK can take some potshots but makes no sense!! 2. Lok Sabha elections turned out to be wrong decisions for BJP. But for the upcoming assembly elections, BJP will gear up and with Sena, come back to power. DK can keep taking pot shots at Fadnavis or Shinde but BJP Sena will work together. If a man like Fadnavis can break up 2 well established parties with strong leaders, rebuilding from set back would not an issue for him. 3. Anyway, let us talk after the elections results.

Right now focus is and should be to win maximum seat for bjp, if they can retain what they have right now they can always go back to uddhav thackrey, after poll, if shinde becomes too greedy, u talked about revadi this stupidity of modi and nirmala costed them 50 seats in lok sabha not announcing any big scheme in interim budget party was left with no big promise to fight khata khat narrative of indi alliance, modi should keep his bs with himself, rules of game shave changed party need to adapt to these changes, those will help a lot especially in party stronghold where they faced set back due to farm anger, waiving off electricity bills, providing high prices for cotton will all help, women cash dolls are two ways sword, it worked for them in mp but their is no guarantee it work in maharashtra but if it work like it did for Mamata in west bengal even after facing so much incumbency, Nda is set for 3rd term comfortably

MH politics is not so simple to be fixed by distributing freebies. There are other major issues like Maratha reservation (that is impossible for BJP to solve in less than 6-month timeframe), the emotional outrage amongst the Maharashtrian community due to split in SS, emotional outrage in those areas where NCP was traditionally strong due to NCP split, lack of jobs and high taxes that angered middle class in major cities like Mumbai and Pune (where even the traditional North Indian voters didn't fully back the BJP).
There are extremely high chances that BJP will lose MH assembly elections very badly. It would take humongous and do-or-die kind of coordinated efforts of Center+State leadership to pacify MH voters.
