  • Here we go! What most of you have been waiting for. The WPL C24 vs the Traxxas TRX4m Bronco. They both performed admirably and I do like these two a lot. Thanks for stopping by and stay safe out there!

    Great video, great location too ! Both very capable trucks , it’s impressive what the small crawlers can do , I have the bronco and it’s alot of fun inside or outside , small enough to take along in a backpack etc , keep up the good work 👍

    This was very informative video. Loved seeing the 2 scales concur the same obstacles. Seems like the WPL is a better choice as a trail truck. The Bronco while very impressive lacks wheel speed as you mentioned. Thanks for the great content brother.

      The stock trail gears actually do really well once you fix the driveshaft angles (I lengthen the top links just a smidge) and put bearings on the front CV axles. It’s so much smoother with the trails after that so it can crawl and have speed.

      Stock the trx4m has plenty of wheel speed , the low range gears that were installed takes that away

    Get wpl, upgrade it with better choice of electronics, will still be cheaper and better than traxxas. My mistake on this one.

    The C24 is just such a nice crawler, even stock it has high ground clearance with large tires (even if they look monster truck-ish which I don't like) that clear most obstacles with a low price tag.

    Cool video.I don’t have experience with them but maybe those flubber stuffers inside the wheels would help with roll overs.They’re supposed to still give good flex but keeps your tires from rolling over to much causing roll overs.

    Very informative video. The C24 is much louder. Where does the difference in noise come from?

    • @RunThatRC
      @RunThatRC  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The WPL has a 2 speed gearbox and a 370 size motor which makes it louder but not as bad as you hear. I have the camera mic really close to the trucks while driving so its not as loud as this in person. The trx4m is just smaller even the motor is a 180 so its a little quiter.

    How and where did you get the two separate speeds on the WPLC and are you still running the stock controller?

    • @RunThatRC
      @RunThatRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      The WPL C24 I'm running is a KM kit and am running it with standalone electronics. Not the standard wpl electronics in this one.

  • @rex_s80
    @rex_s80 ปีที่แล้ว

    I would try again with trail gears but do a few mods to the drivetrain. I did silicone grease on all the bushings and bearings on just the front CV axles where the pin goes as that causes a lot of binding. And then lengthen the top links just a bit to reduce the pinion angle. I have absolutely no bind and it’s very smooth. I can easily spin the entire drivetrain by spinning a tire by hand which I couldn’t before: initial take off isn’t jumpy either.

    • @rex_s80
      @rex_s80 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is since you don’t have to compare stock to stock anymore. This would be an alternative to crawl gears being sooooo slow. I went back to trail gears

    • @RunThatRC
      @RunThatRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      I used slickoleum on all bushings but no mods to the links. It runs smooth but for my style driving the stock gears just dont cut it and even the crawler gears are too slow but modulation is great. Everyone is going to build these different and what works for me won't work for everyone. That's what makes this hobby awesome. We have options and gear selections so we can all enjoy and get the performance we want out of these.

      @@RunThatRC yeah it was just a recommendation. I believe meus it something like that is making portals with 1.25 ratio for these so I’m waiting for those. Maybe the inbetween gearing Im hoping for.

    • @RunThatRC

    Hey do you still have drag brake function with the hw1060 on the c-24? Also, are you able to hook the headlights up to the 1060, and maybe even a winch later?

    • @RunThatRC
      @RunThatRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      the 1060 has a jumper that switches from forward/reverse to forward/brake/reverse. If you leave the jumper out it gives it a drag brake and its forward/reverse. You will have to get different lights or figure how to run the stock ones. You will be using your own transmitter and receiver and your going to need a winch controller or a standalone winch with separate controller.

    Lo emocionante del wpl c24 es qués muy configurable puedes tener motor 180, 260, 370 con caja de cambios. Incluso con dos motores N30 claro será más lento pero tendrá una fuerza enorme para subir. El traxxas en cambio es un dolor de cabeza para conseguir piezas y adaptarlo .

      @@chrish9502 en parte porque hay ciertos mods que se debe adaptar. Pero no son nada complicados la mayoría. Para traxxas si hay mods pero son más costosos y son dolores de cabeza cuando algo no calzan bien.

      @chrish9502 I dissagree with OP, the TRX4M is much easier to mod with a large support from the factory (Traxxas has some of, if not the best CS in the industry). I still prefer the larger (and cheaper) C24 overall tho.

    have you ever installed grub screws on a stock wplc24-1 axel gear?

    • @playanddisplay3636
      @playanddisplay3636 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you're referring to the standard ring gears, you may be better off using the metal upgrade internals with the grub screw hole already drilled and tapped. Otherwise, the epoxy mounted axel shafts would require you to remove the ring gear. Allowing to drill and tap the ring gear. Then re-install it onto the metal axel shaft.

    Is the c24 better than mn78?

    • @RunThatRC
      @RunThatRC  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      depends what your looking for in a RC. The mn78 is a really nice jeep and the C24 is a nice toyota. The mn78 is a little bigger but the C24 has more upgrades and handles better off road stock vs stock. With these you can mod so much that you can get performance out of both. These are trail trucks so you can't really expect crawler performance out the box.

      @@RunThatRC that WPL works really well. I have a few of the Scx24's but never bought a trx4m, for what you get with no bearings and most people have to upgrade the machine I'd rather get the WPL there is a ton of aftermarket stuff for those models. Where do you purchase your WPL's?

    • @RunThatRC
      @RunThatRC  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@WoodsUnknown I like my TRX4m's more than the Axial SCX24 but I do not normally do too many mods. Some only leave the axles stock. Not my case, I like to keep them mostly stock except for stuff I think is necessary. Bushing don't bother me because its less maintenance for my water activities lol.
      They all have there place for sure. If I purchase WPLs it would be on the Official site. All my previous WPLs before WPL actually started sending me review units I purchased from Banggood.com and also a sketchy website I dont remember that had a blue B series for 25 bucks shipped. So I paypaled it in hopes it wasn't a scam. It did show up and was an original first batch with metal pinion and plastic ring gears. So that was a come up.
