    This is the automotive equivalent of Falling Water by Frank Lloyd Wright. He built a minimalist house over a waterfall in Pennsylvania back in 1935. The idea is that the flat surfaces and blank slate styling magnifies the beauty of the infinite layers of the natural landscape. This garage/studio space is not without style. The style is overly simple and flat so that the shape of the car is amplified.
    Think of this car was parked next to an 911 and a muscle car of the same era. The curves of the Porsche and the loud design of the muscle car would drown out the Ferrari. So this man built his garage to showcase this car that he finds so great in so many ways.

    At 2:32 “I enjoy driving the car on windy roads, where it’s not about speed, it’s about… being in the right gear, shifting up, shifting down… really getting a feeling for the car.”

    The 512 Berlinetta Boxer was (and still is) my favourite Ferrari. Growing up in the 1970s and early 1980s, you liked the Countach, the Stratos, the Bora, the Khamsin, the Pantera...and of course, the stunningly beautiful 512 BB. In my opinion Ferrari never got the Supercar Wedge nailed more perfectly than this. Thanks for this stunning video.

    I have my bicycle in my living room too, it creates an atmosphere of exquisit relaxation, the shapes of the wheels represent the cosmos turning and moving forwards but always connected to the ground, the pedals are a marvelous feat of engineering that connect the physical energy of the body to the gears so you become the machine. I wanted to create an environment with only what I needed or better said could afford, I have my bike, a mattress I bought off craigslist and my messenger bag for work.

    This absolutely beautiful. An artist my self... I'm not a great fan of Ferrari,but I understand his passion and vision for this car. I can relate to the style and lines of this one design. In this short life; we are all looking for that classic or not shape design,style, color and lines.. and one day without notice you come to it; it hits you and you stop all of a sudden you are memorised, drawn; your brain is computing you stare and seconds become minutes. You dont know what to do or how to act.Everything stops you hear only what you see, the beauty hurts you
    You understand colors and try to recreate oneself in it part of it. You become one. Totally beautiful.
    Make it happen. What ever it is that does this to you & you to will be great.

    Back when I was in college, oh... around 1984, there was an exotic car dealership in Springfield Missouri, and at the time and they had a brand new 512 bb and the 288 GTO. Those cars were absolutely stunning. I was lucky enough to sit in both of them as well. I thought it was weird seeing an exotic car dealer in a relatively small country town, but then learned they chose it because it's centrally located within the midwest.

    This appeals to me - my "dream" house would be similar - first floor would be a six car garage, arranged three by three, polished concrete floors, glass garage doors, sitting areas arranged down the center, a centered, cantilevered staircase in the middle leading to the second floor living area, two bedrooms (one on each end) with en suite, a combination living room/sitting area surrounding a stone and glass fireplace, professional grade kitchen with a walkout dining area adjacent a beautifully landscaped, lush swimming pool, all done in a very sleek minimalist style with floor to ceiling windows - of course filled with six of my favorite vehicles!

      Wow. Different people have different opinions! That's crazy! :)
      When I was a kid in the late 1980s I was absolutely obsessed with the Testarossa - and still am (I just watched more than a view videos of TRs)...
      I was never aware of the Boxer (or 288 GTO) until I saw one in the Ferrari service department way back then...
      I also think the Testarossa is one of the most beautiful cars ever.
      I think the F40 and 288 GTO are some of the most beautiful cars ever (I can never decide which is better), but at specific angles from the side, in my opinion, the 288 GTO is the most beautiful car on earth.
      This late-model boxer in this dark grey color looks amazing thanks to having the 308/288GTO's front end and that arch over the front wheels, but that curving line doesn't continue the curve over the door and rear fender like it does on the 308/GTO... so the back is kind of "blah" for me compared to a 288 GTO- or the Testarossa which has all kinds of stuff going on in the back.
      For me, the Testarossa has the more interesting back end, while the Boxer has the more beautiful front end (if the orange turn signal lenses were white or grey).
      The 288 GTO has it all... unless you look at it directly from the front. :)
      (I don't know why I typed all this either- so please don't ask!)

      Then say you love Ferrari first and that you love Italian because of Ferrari. Lambo's practically have Audi engines in them nowadays with stupid interior designs to make them look like fighter jets, Pagani Zonda's have engines, transmission's, and drive-trains made by Mercedes, and who wants a Vespa or a Fiat unless you're some hipster college student wearing ironic glasses? Only other Italian brand that I love is Maserati...again Ferrari owned and made for the most part. Ferrari has some of the richest and most reputable heritage in racing and motorsport, along with elite engineering and design.

    I've been told, by a couple of Ferrari owners, that the 512 BB was a really BAD Ferrari. Badly made and not that good on handling. Don't care, it was the fastest car in the "Top Trumps" kid's card game when I was young!

    • @Oldbmwr100rs
      @Oldbmwr100rs 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      The late 70's weren't a good time for the company,and the smog laws played hell with the engines too. But it was still a good time for styling,and the early BB 512's with carbs made a great intake sound. But keeping those old weber 3 barrel carbs working right wasn't fun. Got a good look at a few of them that moved through an exotic car place near where I used to live. They fit drivers a lot better than the later Testarossa though.

      @colin5577 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      mescko I quite like a red car now and again, but I am inclined to agree with you in most instances - especially with Ferraris. They look especially stunning in many colours apart from red, and I absolutely love the grey on the 512 in the video. My own 456 was silver, though ironically, I'd have liked a red one of those as they're so rare in that colour. If I were buying a 458 or looking for a 430? Pretty much any colour other than red, frankly.

    A 512 was my first Ferrari. It was a troubled car from the start and I held onto it two years too long (I owned it 2 years and 1 month). At the time it looked good, but I was always wishing I had bought something else that didn't give me weekly problems. I would say it was a lemon, but my 355 wasn't much better with the 458 only slightly better than that. I am Porsche (and my old 97 NSX S) only now and have never been let down. Still, it is great to see someone appreciate this car so much; in the end that's what it's all about.

    Excellent appreciation of a very nice example of my personal favorite "Supercar" if you will. No surprise that someone who understands design, proportion, and attention to detail would choose a BB as it has an unequaled attitude... full of menace, confidence, grace & power...and take off the rear licence plate and all of a sudden the rear 3/4's view (never quite equal to the heady promise of the front from ALL angles) achieves a sparseness and near minimalism that nicely resolves the overall effect.
    Stunning, beautiful simplicity.

      Pedro Guerreiro I know you can certainly buy a lot of the more affordable classics by saving up, but the kind of guy that owns a vintage Ferrari like that probably didn't save up for it, they were probably wealthy already.
