I don't understand the thumbs down. We aren't entering a quilt show but learning and sharing ideas while having a fun experience at the same time. So to those that 'thumb down'....you need to have more fun.
Just when I thought I've seen most of your fine videos, here's another wonderful one I need to make. What an excellent teacher you are. Truly, I have learned so much from you. Keep them coming.
Great quilt with beautiful fabrics. Another way of making the row would be to cut a black triangle the same size as the pieced one. Sew half the hexagon together (3 pieces) then add the black triangle, then the next half hexagon all along the row. Then put the two rows together to make full hexagons and then add the sashing in between. Saves you cutting the black pieces and then sewing them back together. Thanks for all your tutorials.
I wish I had seen your comment before I started. This is a much easier way of doing it. Now have to take all my hexagons apart and start over. I couldn't get things to match up correctly the way that Donna did it. Sorry Donna!
You do such a beautiful job with the quilts you make. I love that you use an industrial sewing machine. Your explanations are great. You don't talk down to people. You just explain perfectly how to make these beautiful quilts
The Kaffe Fassett hexagon quilt is the absolute favorite quilt I’ve seen that I can remember. Of course the pattern you used was wonderful. Also your construction is flawless. I love all Fassett fabrics and seeing that quilt hanging when you were done was such a pleasure. I smiled all afternoon. Thank you Donna.
Odd that people works give this video a thumbs down, this is good instruction! You'd pay good money to take a class like this! Thanks for all your teaching tutorials and generous give aways.
Your explanations are so clear and easy to follow. I really love them. The person doing the video is so in sinc with your direction and helps so much also.
I love your instruction :-) It is so clear. I live in the UK and am very daunted by the postage costs of goods from the US. Sometimes the postage can cost as much as, if not more, than the cost of the goods!
Oh my gosh. You have changed my life!!! I never thought of half recs for the sides to create a square. I've always made them in a whole row with all triangles.
Thaksfor this free pattern of pinwheels I was given 105 pinwheels made in oriental fabric beautiful yes 105 wow! I did it know the first thing about these soo I am so thankful for your tutorial of this I am not an expert quilter but am gonna give it a try thanks elizabeth.
Initially when I saw the bright, busy Jelly Roll, that it would be too busy. But as usual, your excellent sense of colour and textures revealed a beautiful happy quilt. You’re so inspirational, and with the added bonus of your pressing tips etc, you are definitely the best teacher😊Thanks so much Donna. From Australia
I adore Kaffe fabrics! What a fabulous pattern to show them off! Your choice of black background was just perfect! Thank you for all your hard work in getting these videos to us every week! LOVE! LOVE! LOVE!
Really love watching your tutorials. You do such a good job with teaching how to lay the seam and ironing it square, all of it really. Love how the quilt looks like two different blocks sometimes. Keep them coming!
I only just discovered your channel! Wow! I love the quilts you are making! You are inspiring me after being away from sewing for a few years. Thank you very much!
Donna, you are my favorite quilter on TH-cam. You are no nonsense, yet explain everything so well. Very instructional and down to earth at the same time. I use some of your tips on a daily basis. You are the reason that, when I began quilting about a year ago, I knew I could do it. Love how you and Matt have been together all this time & make it work! I get all excited whenever I see that you have a new video up! 😃😎. Cheers from windy Wichita Kansas. Martia Emrich
The Hexagon is new and looks like fun! I do like the Single Irish quilt, too. Your tutorials are clear, organized and focused. Your teaching is understandable no matter how the pattern. Really fun and learning watch your tutorials on You Tube. . And your husband Matt gives ideas Thanks that you make so many quilts!
Stunning! I can not in anyway understand why anyone would mark a thumbs down on this video....instructions were clear, concise and I am going online to look for a fun jelly roll to do this pattern..
I just love your tutorials!! I always learn something new. And....Watching you choose the fabrics you use, and how pretty the patterns turn out, makes me want to use fabrics that I normally would not choose. Thank you!!!
Donna, you are an inspiration and an very generous person. I love that you spend your free time making quilt patterns to share. I go back again and again to your videos to glean inspiration or the fabric I may have at hand. I can't wait to try Hexagonal Pinwheels. At first I was in shock at the fabric selection, but then, when it came together, I was so excited to try it on some of my crazier fabrics. Thank you for being an inspiration to at least a dozen of my quilts. I have made Ribbons at least 3 time and still love it.
Thanks so much for showing us how to make another easy quilt. EASY is the only ones i make....smiles. Thanks for the Beautiful Give Away , too. Love your instructions on each one....sooooo easy.....
Hi Donna this is my second favourite quilt you have made. It's so very colourful and the black borders make it POP! My No.1 favourite quilt you made has to be the Round the world quilt. Its just adorable. I'm going to try to make one for my family to use when watching TV! Greetings from London.
My english is not well. But you are telling Slowly and clearly That ı can understand well Thank you for good work. I like it and ı will try as soon as. Hello from İSTANBUL
I am new to your video, and so happy I found you, absolutely beautiful quilts and you explain very well.❤I will be looking for more of your videos. Thank you
I’m just now seeing this! I love it! I bought a huge bunch of black fabric and this is perfect for some of it. I love the colors. I’m looking for something colorful to make for my sister. Thank you for always making new designs and patterns. I learn something new every time I watch one of your videos. 🎉❤
I am a new quilter. I have always been a sewer/crafter/yarn junkie. Lol. Have wanted to make a quilt for about 30 years and have always been very intimidated to give it a try. When my sewing machine gave up the ghost 5 years ago I stopped sewing until I could find a new machine that would help me with trying to quilt. I found a brother quilting machine a year ago and my absolutely awesome generous husband surprised me with it 2 months ago. I found this channel and watch every single thing you post. My 1st quilt was going to be made out of my granddaughters clothing. She lived with us with her 3 siblings and was kidnapped 4 years ago by her biological father. We never saw her again. I have all of her clothes and want to make a quilt out of them. I do not want to cut up her clothes but realize I will need to cut some of them to make it work. She was 9 when she was taken so they are not baby clothes. I found many quilts on pinterest but with 9 year old clothes it just looks dumb leaving them uncut. SO, I decided that it would be smart to make something else first and leave the clothes for now so I dont ruin them experimenting. I have learned so much from watching your videos Donna. I watch them all. Having never made a quilt before, your videos have really built up my confidence and taken away any fear I had in quilting. We live about 4 hours from your store and my husband told me just then other day that he will take me to your store on his next payday. I CANT WAIT! If he only really knew what he just got himself into. I have a fabric stash to build. Hehehe. Thank You! Thank You! Thank You for sharing your knowledge and tricks of the trade with us.
I am so thankful I somehow discovered your videos and shop...have ordered several times from your shop and my items are always promptly shipped!! Continue with these great videos....AND free downloads! Not all of us can afford $9.00 patterns!
You are AWESOME!! With each video I seem to gain more confidence to attain the perfection you exhibit! Your ironing tips are amazing, you really show by your tips where I have went wrong when making blocks. The cut may be perfect as is the sewing but the ironing can ruin a perfect block. And vice versa, you can iron a block into submission if by chance a slight mistake was made in the sewing. I love the cozy quilt designs you make but I really like it when you use your own designs the best. Cheers!! Thanks again for showing us all of your secrets you have learned along the journey!
I love your tutorials, Donna. I can't get over how easy you have made quilting for me to do. I have sewn for years, but now very new at quilting and enjoying it so much...thanks to you!! :^)
Love watching your videos of the different projects that you make. My grandma used to do quilts on a quilting rack. There are two different quilts I would love to see how they are made .the 1st one is called a wedding rings . And the other one has blocks with a hand held type fan ,they're are both very nice patterns . Thanks
I hate trimming off the dog ears as I go. You are the first tutorial that doesn't make me feel lazy! I love how they are really a critical part of getting the next part lined up correctly. I am really inspired by this tutorial and have a couple of jelly rolls that I think I will use. Thank you SO MUCH!!!
Thank you Donna for showing us how to sewing 🧵 our Quilt I Love ❤️ it Soso much is grateful to you iam going to get Dex pattern I injoy learn how to sewing 🧵 it thanks again Rose E M
I love it that you used black for the background! The colors really popped! I’d love to see you use a solid COLOR for the background. Not a version of white or beige. I love color and I also like it when the blocks merge with the background to some extent. Then they “fool the eye” and up the interest. Love your videos!
I am a Newcommer doing Quilts and i realy Love your Videos ! I started with the Trip arround the World with old Fabrics i collected for years😊and it was so much fun to do and came out quite beautiful! Now i work on this Pattern. Hope i will do it Grüezi from swizzerland. Sorry for my bad english.
Thank you so much Donna for another lovely quilt tutorial! You're the best! I would like to see Matt sometimes, I love to see the two of you together! Plus a quilt which uses flower blocks. And maybe a tutorial on how to make your quilt patterns which you do so well, and a bit more about Jordan fabrics, how it works, etc., sort of a behind the scenes. God bless you!
I agree.....with Tina Stiner!!! I was thinking the same thing (as Tina) when I entered the give-a-way! Donna, I love this quilt and i am going to order a jelly roll in a week or so due to the fact I spent my "fabric budget" for the month of May already!!! Your videos make things look so much easier than they initially appear. Thank you. And thx you for the free pattern. I am always looking for awesome patterns for my jelly rolls!
Donna, I love all the quilts you make. I am about to be a "new quilter"! I've signed up for classes at my local quilt shop. I am so excited. I know I have so much to learn but I think I can do it. You make it look so easy!!! Thank you!

Hey Donna, I have a request. Can you teach us how to make a backing for a quilt , the do's & don'ts to be put on a long arm? I hear vertical & horizontal backing & I get a little confused piecing a backing for a large quilt?? Please, thanks!
