    Nice to a comparison between a earlier Civic and how the Civic has grown and matured since your last drive of a Civic recently.
    This shape is popular with the the car scene up here, so much you can do to these for so little money.
    As always a most excellent review.

      Yes, the prices for these are rising, but a lot of the modifications would be very inexpensive to do should you wish. They do seem to be becoming more popular as cult cars these days.

    These old hondas are great fun, I remember when he got it too and there was huge dents in it. Definitely looking a lot better now 🤣

    One of the best Honda's made , they also did a Tropica model that was very popular . I drove a 1996 4 door 1.5 model about 20ys ago it was not a looked after car but it drove so well could you find another 4 door back then , no you could not.

    • @lloydvehicleconsulting

      Yes, the four door Civics were always a lot rarer than the hatchback models back in the day, weren't they? These are really starting to be appreciated now, as they are rising in value each year.

    Iv always had a Honda civic amazing reliable cars my last one was 23years old and still going strong 👍

    • @lloydvehicleconsulting
      @lloydvehicleconsulting  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, apart from rust and cambelts, they don't particularly seem to suffer too many reliability issues compared with lots of other cars. Thank you ever so much indeed for watching and commenting!

    Thank you for this video! Amazing how reliable these old Civics are and how much usable space they have! Do the back seats fold down on that model? My 2001 sedan took huge loads when I moved recently!

    • @lloydvehicleconsulting
      @lloydvehicleconsulting  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, they do have folding rear seats. Your car is the next generation on from this.

    Fantastic car. My sister briefly owned a Coupé version of this circa 2004.
    She let me take it for a spin once and I was impressed. Found the angle of the windscreen and A pillar a bit odd as the top of them were very close to the top of my head. Maybe I hadn't adjusted the seat sufficiently or it was just the 'low slung' nature of Hondas in general?
    Anyway, sister traded it in for a brand new Mazda 6 2.3 hatchback that was owned jointly with her partner at time. The Mazda was lovely but I was sad to see the Civic Coupé go.

    • @lloydvehicleconsulting
      @lloydvehicleconsulting  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Hondas of this era did have quite a low seating position. It almost makes this, the smallest one available in this country at the time, seem a bit like a sports car.
      The Coupé would be great to try, the only difficulty is finding one of them, of course! Interesting change between the Civic and the top of the range Mazda6!

    HI Joseph , If you ever come across a Type-R in that shape they are very nice , not sure if they are 1.6 or 1.8 like the DC2 Integra Type-R of the era .

    • @lloydvehicleconsulting
      @lloydvehicleconsulting  ปีที่แล้ว

      They didn't sell a Type R over here in this shape, although I have seen some imports. The VTi or the Civic Jordan were close equivalents, both had the 1.6 engine in this three door body style.

    Typical "boy racer car" here, in Russia - easy to mod any part of this gen Civic. We had lots of RHD JDM cars - very reliable and durable. I'd say it was better than 00's Civics overall (even if kinda boring compared to 2005-2010 hatchback).

    • @lloydvehicleconsulting
      @lloydvehicleconsulting  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, lots of modifications available for these. The platform itself is a very good one, and the engines tend to be very reliable if you look after them. Thank you for watching all the way from Russia!
