I currently own two of these one is crashed, but now i have an engine and a transmission for spare, i picked up the better one (which runs) bought it for 1450 usd, here in hungary, it's rustfree, but it is the 1.4l engine, 75hp (only sold for switzerland and germany) but it was produced in japan, i changed the throttle body gasket, from the 27mm diameter one to the 90hp factory one, now it should be around 90hp, i have the comfort seat for the driver side, which is kinda like a cool sporty factory seat, i have no abs, no airbags, no ac, so it's the lightest model i could have bought, now i just want to buy some street suspension kit, and i will probably touge with my friends (i will put some better brenbos up to the front before we start doing downhill runs)
I don't know if you should brought one in 2022, but definitely in 2024 with those gas prices (Germany) 😅 Got my self one Facelift, completely stock, rust free & totally mint. Only has 67000 km / 42000 miles on it. Only changed the throttle body gasket of course to get the full 90 HP experience. Man, it's so much fun to drive but in the beginning I needed to get comfortable again with an Civic. For an decade was only driving Chevy V8's & a Buick V6 & definitely gonna miss the torque 😂 Heck, my rims need more torque to be properly tighten then the D14 engine will ever produce. Missed the Feeling so much, alot of fun & such a gas safer. Always had different rims, suspension etc. on my Civics but this one is so hone stock I realized how ridiculous comfortable the ride is (stock 185/60 R14) no matter the surface or bumps etc. Glad I'm matured alot also mind wise & truly thankful what joyful economic vehicles Honda produce. Now I'm also looking out for an 1st Gen HR-V, don't want to drive the EJ9 during winter / salty roads when not necessary.
Thanks for your video, i ve always loved these Civic EJ/EK Hatchbacks since I was a kid. I m glad to know I can still buy one of these nowadays relatively hassle free whilst being a 22 years old car!
Their Worth is gold, got a 1.4 Facelift. 160k km engine oil still looks grear after 7 tousand km. Awesome A/C klimate condition. Only some rust, so gonna get new doors, maybe an.axle and for sure the rear fender. Also looking forward to get a smoother suspencion. Oh and you can just remove the throttle valve seal on the 1.4 i to get a bit more power for 5$. Civic for ever!
October 2023 and just picked up a s reg 1.4i auto ej9 with 58k on it,the inside looks like its just come off the production line but body showing signs of age but still great condition for its age,im currently trying to decide what engine to buy and build for it leaning towards a b series with itb setup as love the sound of a na honda engine screaming its nuts off 😂 am 43 so can afford to have this car as a toy along with my sports bike there are some advantages to getting old 😂😂
Hey Guys, i got a civic ej9 in sight. But it has 229.000 ish Miles . A lil Rust and scratches on the Side. But runs aight. I Just have problem with the gears. Gear 1 is hard to Put in and 3 is making a Bad sound when shifting. Do i have to replace the Clutch or the whole transmition? I could get the Car for 600-900€ IS IT worth it?

Grille was from ebay, spoiler is stock just on raisers, think the wheels were 6.5-7j - 165/50/15 tyres
