Has it had any major problems? Is it expensive to service? I am looking forward to potentially buying one as a first car. Your feedback would be much appreciated☺️
@@ivancholakov3737 No problems at all so far after 2k km! (I bought it a little over two months ago) It's very easy and inexpensive to service. There is so much content about 6th gen civics on youtube and elsewhere, it's a very good pick as a first car. That's essentially also why I wanted one.
Got back to my roots with the EJ9 after 10 years of just driving Chevy V8 & V6. Gas prices became ridiculous, so I got back to what I know & liked (ED/EE, EG & EJ/EK). Found a mint EJ9 Facelift from an passed elderly man, only 67000 km now on the clock & I'm very happy. No rust, like a time capsule. Transmission etc. looks like from factory & totally new, same with the engine bay etc. I'm more then blessed with finding one in this conditions. Already did the underneath coating to protect it from winter / salt etc. Now looking also for an 1st Gen HR-V again, so the EJ9 stays mint 😊 Only thing done of course, changed the throttle body gasket to the 90 HP one. 10€ for 15 HP, naturally aspirated. Only an EJ9 will give you this 😅
@@testdrivehero Thank you, I'm gonna check it out. Already had an AWD HR-V VTEC back then, trying to get one again. Of course 15 HP. It's for the EJ9 with the 75 HP from factory. Only need to buy the throttle body gasket of the 90 HP version, change it & you got 15 HP more. It's a common thing to do here in Germany 😅
@@charlesmchoop3007 You're welcome! EJ9 has 1.4 16v and 90hp from stock. Maybe you mean the 1.3 16v 75hp carb from the EG3?🤔 (Which you also can check 2 test drives of it here😂)
@@testdrivehero No brother. 1.4i EJ9 (mostly "Comfort" Trim) had only 75 HP from factory. The 1.4iS EJ9 (often "Cool") had 90 HP from factory. Only difference is, like I said, the 10€ Throttle Body Gasket that will make your 75 HP EJ9 to an 90 HP EJ9. You already have the 1.4iS 90 HP EJ9 of course. There are also german videos on this subject & how to do videos. I know a mechanic that bought an EJ9 brand new from factory in 2000, the millennium edition in Sunlight Yellow (Y56). He already knew the difference between the gaskets so he ordered the 2000 DM (Deutsche Mark before the Euro) less expensive 75 HP version instead the 90 HP. Changed the gasket for 10 bucks & had also 90 HP 😅 That's how I dumped the price on my mint EJ9 a bit. I said it's only the 75 HP version 😉 Right at home changed the gasket right away 🤣 No other engine offers this simple power increase, no EG3, no ED6 etc. Best 15 HP increase for 10 Bucks ever 😅
@@charlesmchoop3007 Wow, didn't know that. Here we just have the "Cool" version, the 1.4iS as the access version of the Civic EK gen. Thanks for the info!
