Looking at buying a 2500 that needs a rear end and wanted to be sure it’s a repair I can actually handle, so thank you for this video!
Appreciate you. Real men want to know, learn and get her done.
The step by step 👍🏾
That's the goal, so many people on here aren't clear with their explanation so I do my best to say the quiet part out loud
The number of tips in your video is astounding! You have a great sense of humor, I like your easy-going demeanor and the way you reassure us we can do it too, your step-by-step detailed work demonstrates you don't assume people necessarily know how to go about it! I am impressed by your phenomenal video!
I assume that the viewer has no clue what they're looking at. No disrespect, keeps simple questions down to a minimum (may be answered in the video)

Awesome breakdown man, and I like the fact you use basically tools in a driveway. Keep it up

Hey, has anyone ever told you that you sound like a younger version of TH-cam mechanic😀 Scotty Kilmer! lol
Nope, but I'll take that as a compliment
Hell yeah moose I gotta pull one out today and I haven’t swapped a rear end since 2019 ! Good refresh !

I spot a fellow vgg fan... Lol, I just built a 14 bolt for my Hotrod truck, which is also an extended cab stepside. Great motivation.
Thanks man, I'm looking a 6 lug 14 bolt semi float myself
@@mooseempire00 I was able to find a 8 lug locally. Had Dutchman build me a set of 5x5 axles. I installed it last weekend and it all worked out really well. Direct bolt in!
One in a million 👍
Did my rear, bought a used one and now I have to do it again this week lol yay
I have to do mine again too lmao
@@mooseempire00 if it wasn’t for you I wouldn’t have the experience, I bought a new Diff with warranty for replacement $1100.00 wish me luck
Im in the same boat brother wat a pain in the ass 🤦
I have a 2006 Chevy Silverado 1500 trying to put rear end man the problem I have it is I can't get the axles to stay on your u-bolts while you hook it up is there any tricks you got or a device you got for me to try I'd appreciate it thank you

What about the parking brake cable?
💯
How long did this take you?
Was wondering if you could help me figure out the size of my rear differential. I drive a 1988 Chevy k1500 standard pickup. I think it’s the 8.5 ring gear but I have to replace it.
count the splines on the ring gear and the splines on the pinion gear. Gear Ratio = (#of splines on the ring gear) / (#of splines on the pinion gear) and round it to the nearest two decimal places
How much would u charge me to do mine same truck
What about emergency brake cables?
still didn't figure that one out
No E brakes?
nope, still trying to figure it out
The joys of not living in western new York or any part of the rust belt.

They say imitation is the most sincere form of flattery. In this case, I have two suggestions. 1: invest in a harbor freight impact before you hurt yourself. And 2: find yourself a unique personality to play. You’re wasting your time trying to imitate VGG brother. That ship left port long ago.
thanks for the advice. working on it
