Pants completely set the tone of an outfit. I would have horrible fits because I focused on shirts. There are many different types of well fitting pants. Casual, formal, slim, skinny, relaxed, etc. materials as well and they have a huge influence on the rest of your outfit
Absolutely true. But I think, at least that’s how it felt for me, you gain that confidence from wearing the pieces and styling the outfits the way you want to and like to see on yourself! That for me was what gave me the confidence, that then, actually elevated my style!
Pants set the tone. Shoes add interest and can make or break an outfit. Everything else is there to create contrast. 90% of the time I wear a signet pinky ring and a Cartier trinity ring on my right hand. I love the combination on masculine and feminine.
I think something that can help you develop your style is throwing out any clothes you don’t feel confident in. You can layer any piece of clothing but if you don’t like how it looks to begin with, no matter how you style or layer it you won’t feel stylish in the fit
00:27 I date a heavier guy who always looks impeccable (and slim) in his clothes. The secret is he tailor-fits and hems all of his pants and jeans. 12:04 is my favorite mantra. I dress very casually, mostly with thrifty/vintage stuff but I always buy brand-new shoes that look really edgy. I always feel the confidence and attention that my footwear brings. Very insightful and attainable tips!
i really appreciate you adding the health aspect to this video. Mental health is vital, and fashion can help you feel more like yourself, but knowing yourself and putting the work in to be health will always be good. And it will improve how you feel and how you want to present yourself to the world. Awesome video!
I just want to let you know that before even finishing your video I got up and tried an outfit that I've been thinking of A LOT lately and it turned out to be amazing but your layering tip took it to another level.. so thank you for the motivation and your tips💕💕💕💕
Appreciate #12 and talking about mental, emotional, and physical wellness. I definitely feel at my most confident and stylish when I have a clearer mind and am overall less stressed, no matter what I'm wearing I just feel better and therefore look better and exude positivity.
I love layering, when it was brick in NYC years ago I was going full puff. Puffer pants, longer graphic tee, comfortable hoodie/pullover, long puffer with the front open. Had a shoulder bag strapped around the waist underneath the puffer and knit beanies on. Went full bomb squad, felt so good too like I was a walking cloud.
I love how you mentioned more general themes, provided several examples and not as much singular clothing pieces. The other videos I’ve seen with this topic, have only mentioned trend pieces etc “get the tabis, oh I personally love mini skirts, I think anyone who wears x clothing item is stylish”.
This is pure genius. This advice works no matter who you are. I’m the opposite of your age, gender and everything else. So my results will look totally different. But it definitly helps me to feel better, as the result is more interesting and uplifting (from the outside it doesn‘t look better to anyone else but me, due to my age, frumpiness etc, but over 60 no one looks at you anyway, so who cares). I‘m very glad that „the_youtube_algorithm“ had a glitch to suggest this vid, i‘m totally not the targeted group. Keep on your great work!
Didnt get anything for black Friday because I just splurged on a Haider Ackermann jacket so my consumerist side is satisfied for the next months 💀 but I gotta say I don’t feel like I need to watch advice videos anymore when it comes to my style but the way you explain these things so passionately I cannot help but to watch and constantly just nod my head in agreement
I know Im getting into another territory but a good fragrance improves one’s confidence and mood and your overall vibe to the people you talk to. “Olfactory accessory” as they call it. Recently got into niche fragrances and man oh man it makes a difference. Xerjoff, Parfums de Marly, Initio, Nishane are some brands to try for those interested.
Wow, numero 8 hits home... I always viewed fashion as a story we tell about ourselves. It can be based on real experiences or on a fantasy you would like to experience, but it is always a story for me, YOUR story
Really loved this video Drew! I think colour usage especially is incredibly underrated. Aside from how different colours interact with eachother or creating a specific area of interest, something I almost never see mentioned is which colours suit your skin tone and make it pop. Also hair and eye colour can play a big part. I recently had my colours analysed and it's one of the best things I ever did. I understand it might not be for everyone, or seem a bit shallow/bs, and I agree with the sentiment that you should wear what you like and not let something arbitrary determine what you wear. But for me it's been an eye opener. I used to be almost afraid of colour and never wear bold colours like red or orange. It turns out those two colours make me look great and I now rock them with so much confidence. I still wear colours and things outside of those that 'suit' me and that I personally like, but it's enabled me to create a base of pieces that I can easily mix and match and that make me look fantastic and boost my confidence. As an added benefit, I now almost never buy or waste as much money on clothes that I know I won't look good in.
I loved your video! I’ve always loved fashion and prided myself on my style. My mental health has been struggling, and I felt like I lost my style. Your tips and words were a really nice reminder in this time in my life. I was looking for a way to find myself again. So I just wanted to thank you for spreading peace and positivity!
9 degrees celcius- "it is COLD". In Helsinki, Finland it's -13 celcius at the moment. +9c is like a light longsleeve and a leather jacket type temperature for someone from this icy hellscape.
Bro don't underestimate the eye bags. Accessorizing is key! They also bring color to your outfits and are able to carry all that sleep deprivation 😩 also #pvv I try to consume less nowadays since it takes its own toll on me, but I did buy a book, "Mending matters" which is a book on sashiko and mending, so in the future I can better fix my favorite pieces and consume less while making my clothes a bit more personal 🙏🏻
New to your channel and I love your pov. I feel most like myself mixing patterns in outfits ✨️ I also love accessorizing and personalizing fits. Thanks again for all that u do.
I was honestly expecting a lot of bullshit, because whenever I see these types of videos the person is usually saying things like "you need to get that, and you need to exclude this", which does not build style at all. but I was super pleasantly surprised that you brought up a lot of points that I would think about like movement of the clothes, functionality, quality (and not necessarily pricey) and meaning of individual items etc that was really satisfying to have mentioned, because that is what i've found really developed my style and my most loved outfits and pieces. great job dude!!
The bag advice is so true, when I go out most places I bring the same green book bag with me no matter the outfit for two reasons: it brings a sense of uniformity to all my fits and its incredibly useful since I ride my bike or skate to most places I go to.
Wow instant subscribe. I feel like you're very good at getting to the point in a way that's concise and yet kind, and I genuinely really enjoyed some of these tips! Still hunting for some of these pieces....
My favorite advice for color is to use it the same way artists do. Look up the color wheel and how to use it. It helps so much to narrow down what colors to use and which to avoid, as well as what rules I can break
I always watched your videos and only now realized that I wasn’t subscribed , but that changed today obviously, keep up the good work and I am so happy to see you grow in the fashion industry , you are opening doors for fellow poc content creators and fashion enthusiasts ❤
Good video/ content. Keep up the good work. Japanese selvedge was a gateway for myself into discovering a new way to express myself externally. Love how a pair of denim jeans can be moulded into a second skin.
this was a great video! thank you so much. as someone recently living in new York, I'm finding that style is a lot more important and interesting than I once thought. I try not to be hard on myself when I feel like I lack some of the style of the people around me and know that its just a journey. your videos are great and thanks again!
When I looked at the people I refer to in terms of fashion, I realized that they really pay attention to the details you mentioned, your reviews are great :)
For color guidance, Amy Smilovic from Tibi has a great system for balancing different colors. It’s an easy hack if you want to kill the ambiguity to start, and then you can deviate from the system once you’ve understood the framework
Love you and your help. ALSO A TIP FOR EVERYONE. Tailoring your pants and clothes is not as expensive as you think! Try finding a good local tailor and it’s very much worth it. - from a large is too big and medium is too tight.
I know for sure if I see someone with a really cool unique style I think they look cool and I would like to talk to them and see what they are like. It just causes general interest from most people I guess especially in a city where you see young people and working age people all wearing similar things like clothes kids are into ( I’m from Glasgow and panda dunks are everywhere you look ) or shirts/ ties office wear so when you see someone styling clothes that are more unique you think they must be creative in some way like a photographer or artist or skateboarder whatever. I think people that dress more confidently are usually in pretty good positions in life, not because they dress well but they same thing in there brain that lets them wear what they like and be confident about it has also allowed them to be confident about other things in life like starting there own business/ changing career or moving to a new place. Clothes are definitely a reflection of self but I think clothes can also improve your life and kinda change you via what you wear.
really liked the tip about have accessories be personal (which I only really associated with family heirlooms). also never thought about wearing colorful socks so the 10:51 image has opened up so many options!
Loveeee this! I’m not even done with the video yet. But I really enjoy how simple yet descriptive your tips are. You’ve made them adaptable and easy to implement! Thankss!🤌🏾🫶🏾 Deffo just subscribed
Finding proper fitting pants is very hard as someone who’s tall and skinny, if they fit properly at my waist they’re probably up to my knees so to have them fit nicely at the bottom I have to get bigger sizes and tie up the waist. Do you have any tips?
I'm watching this video to get some ideas on how to be stylish while in my uniform. (i'm a school cook). I will be able to use the accesories tip for my daily wear!
My Black Friday purchase was the first iPhone I got myself. I always had the mentality that "once I get the phone, I'll take more photos or start a content channel" and I'm praying I get over my fear at some point. I really am proud that I saved up for the phone though, used up months of my peanuts wage and did the damn thing. I just need to take care of it because it's only been 5-ish months and my screen's already chipped now.
watching ur vids for months and now also seeing footage of us hanging out in the videos is crazy hahaha, keep up the great work drew!! :)

This is why I own more pants than jackets, cardigans, sweaters, shirts and hats.
This is one mistake I do make I don't own enough pants with different colors and broader fits
its a shame his ones fit so badly
Yes! I always build outfits around the pants or skirt I want to wear that day
Being fit and confident took my style to the next level 💪
This is the most important
@@soodhooku agreed
yeah i need to get fit
This is the real foundation, not pants.

Just wait until you try some Incredible Hulk satin panties, bro. So soft on the bodega boys.

Lmao sold 7 (t-shirts/casual dress/etc) felt like weight off me shoulders. Not constantly seeing it in the closet, knowing I ain’t gonna wear it today
