    When I was stationed at NAS North Island, a friend built a Chopper from a XS650 Yamaha. So I bought a 78 XS650 Special. Going to follow this build.

    I had the same issue with the axle adjusters being too wide. I ended up using adjusters from an early-80's CB750 and got a nice snug fit over the new axle plates without washers or spacers.
